The late Patrice O'neal used to have a bit where he said people on the internet have to understand there is a difference between celebrities and them. It's not that they are inherently better but there used to be a chasm of inaccessibility between the average person and say The President of the United States. The internet has collapsed, not closed but collapsed that gap. So even though he may never personally read it the President knows there is some dude out there, directly calling them a fucking asshole. He's right most of these people are not actually engaged in the thing they have opinion on. It's that dopamine hit.
Everybody is looking for attention, so social media platform are a great place to get it. It's up to you if you want to give them attention or not by just ignoring them. Social media lets people give their opinion on things, both positive & negative. Sure, some comments are influenced by the mood they're in at the time but again it's up to you how you're going to deal with it.
Louie just pointed out the exact problem with Rogan's show. Joe wants to shoot the shit and talk recklessly with his comic friends, he's really good at this. He also wants to give medical advice and speak earnestly about controversial political and cultural debates, which he's really sloppy about. When he gets called out for his responsibility and sloppiness on the latter, he tries to frame himself as only engaging in the former.
I think that you don't understand Rogan's show. He talks about what is interesting to him. He's just talking from his own experience based on what is interesting to him. It's up to you how you want to take what he says. However, if you're looking to Joe Rogan for medical advice I think you may be looking in the wrong place. Joe is notorious for not planning what he's going to talk about. He just talks about something he read or saw and that's the beauty of his show. He should be allowed to do that without people looking at him like he is telling them what to do. He absolutely isn't. If you want someone who researches and prepares for a show, Joe Rogan is not the place for you.

Many of these choices have been instrumental in his success in cultivating, capturing, and profiting from his audience. I'm completely within my rights to judge him and his content for these decisions. Finally, I find it to be incredibly insincere and cynical that whenever he's called out for his irresponsible use of his platform in an incontrovertible way he attempts to sidestep the criticism by saying shit like, "Hey, I'm just a comedian. I'm an idiot. Anyone who takes me seriously on important topics is a moron..." That is just a silly and not particularly clever way to eschew accountability for the decisions he makes and the content he produces. That shell game he's playing clearly works for him and I'm sure he'll continue to do it, but let's be clear, I definitely "understand the show" and so does Joe.
It's not a problem at all. It's only a problem with people who take issue with somebody talking about opinions that they don't agree with. He doesn't have any responsibility other than entertaining people, whether you find it entertaining or not is up to the individual but you don't have the right to tell somebody what they're allowed to talk about or not. If all his political opinions agreed with your own, then I guarantee you wouldn't have any problem with him talking about this stuff. I think that especially applies to situations whenever outraged conservatives critique any type of media... you know those types that are all of a sudden the biggest Star Wars or Watever fans and are just professionally outraged that somebody dared to screw their childhood.
