The first Hyundai Sonata was launched in 1985 and was actually a Hyundai Stellar modernized and assembled with important components from other manufacturers such as Mitsubishi or Ford. Since then, the Hyundai Sonata has seen eight generations, and currently boasts one of the most spectacular cars from Hyundai, the 2024 Sonata model.

As bad a reputation as Hyundai had and oftentime continues to have, I have to give props where props are due, they hit a home run with their 5th generation Sonata. I had one up until it was totalled last month, and that car just ran and ran and ran with no issues. That car's built like a tank, and I'd highly recommend a 5th gen Sonata to anyone looking for a cheap, simple, but reliable used car
