Some of the stuff in movies are exaggerated, but based on real styles. I don't know any kick-based Chinese styles, but the rings on the arms may be hung gar. Many Chinese styles are now mainly practiced for culture and history. One guy who practiced MMA beat a lot of locals and was shunned for it. This was maybe about several years ago.
