    Thanks. That lack of lift was really apparent. You saved me some grief as I was rationalizing these as suitable for a lightweight combo while being light and no flats/tubes to worry about down the line. Easy to pack too. If only they scaled it up about 30% bigger.

      They make some that are bigger, but pricey. amzn.to/3qgD5H3

    Got the A7 Cycplus Inflator. Does everything I want it to do and it's small with a lot of power. Top off vehicle tires, great for my road bike, good for a soft ride on the Z-turn. Makes living with tires much easier.

      It sure does. No messy cables to deal with, just hook up and go.

    Great tips! I have the 18' Saturn... it's a bit big for transom wheels. Still looking into options.

    It looks like your cavitation plate is far below the keel. Perhaps you could add a 1 inch shim to the top of the transom to reduce spray and possibly gain a little speed?

    • @ErickMartinSucre
      @ErickMartinSucre  2 роки тому +1

      Oh, well, for this model I don't really mind going slow. I manage about 16mph with my 6hp Tohatsu outbhoard on this one. On the ZK380, the 9.8hp has a hydrofoil and I get 19mph, maybe 21 with a slightly higher pitch prop.

    Thanks for this! My Kaboat (Bris) is still sitting in the storage bag - haven't taken it on the water and got it 2 years ago lol. I like the curved transom wheels - I saw a few others out there that are less expensive but look to be 45 or 60 degree angles - I wonder if those will work or if the 90 degree ones you linked are really the only ones that would work for Kaboats...

    • @ErickMartinSucre
      @ErickMartinSucre  Рік тому

      If the brackets that hold the wheels to the transom are not too big, they should work.

      @@ErickMartinSucre Nice! I do like how compact the plastic ones are and wonder if the wheels could be swapped/replaced with rubber/inflatable or flat-free tires? Similar to these - ua-cam.com/video/BthUxsayBpg/v-deo.html

    Hi Erick, is this a BRIS kaboat? Do you know if they are good to row on lakes/rivers? Are they better to row compared to a standard sib? Or will they just get blown about with a bit of wind?
    Thanks,

    • @ErickMartinSucre
      @ErickMartinSucre  Рік тому

      Inflatables are light in nature, so they will all be affected by heavy winds, but they are easier to row since they are lighter.

    Eric forget about the dingy wheels, what the heck is that giant wheel in the shed? Do you use it for strength exercise? Thing is huge

  • @Cimmeron

    Thanks Eric,
    I’ve been flip flopping between these, the ctug dinghy wheels and the big wheels you also had in this video.
    Thanks for showing it rolled up.
    I have to launch on those slotted concrete boat ramps you mentioned so those wheels are out.
    Do the black/red broomstick wheels do ok on the slotted boat ramps?
    How do they do on sand?

    • @ErickMartinSucre
      @ErickMartinSucre  2 роки тому +1

      These do bad on those slotted boat ramps, but the standard ones do ok with it. As for sand, make sure the boat is not full off stuff and you'll be able to roll the boat with you. I do that when I go camping on some islands here in FL. I literally have the boat rigth next to my tent.

    Hi...really really want to know.. when you installed it to the bottom black plastic area.. is that going affect the boat? cuz i just got the 15' launching wheels. try above the black rubber. but the tires attach to the bottom of the boat.. only way is get the 12' wheels or place to the rubber area.😢

    • @ErickMartinSucre

      I placed a square piece of yoga mat to even it out.

    Thanks for the video! Do these small wheels provide enough clearance between the boat and the ground so that when you are hauling the boat at an angle, the back ends of the tubes won't touch the ground?
    Also, is it possible to detach the wheels from the axles prior to folding the boat? Even though you said they are not much of an obstruction, I would rather take them off before putting the boat in the carry bag. Thanks again!

    • @ErickMartinSucre
      @ErickMartinSucre  2 роки тому +2

      Yes on both accounts. There is enough clearance bit you must lift or remove tye outboard. You can remove the wheels but require tools to do it.

    My have you ever reviewed a catamaran? I'd like to know how they do in the ocean. Thanks

    • @ErickMartinSucre
      @ErickMartinSucre  2 роки тому +1

      I have not but have spoken to a lot of people who use them. They do well in calm water, but if tye waters get rough, you have to slow down because the swells could flood the inside since there are no tubes in the front

    What did you use in the holes other than the screws to seal the transom from leaking water into the boat?

    • @ErickMartinSucre
      @ErickMartinSucre  2 роки тому +1

      @@justindevlieger9476 You may need to tweak it a bit. The original propeller is a 7.8x8, so using a 7.8x7 would do the trick.

    Hey eric. I just bought the same wheels to install on my sib. I wanted to ask did you ever have any issues mounting them over the layer of pvc material that overlaps the bottom of the transom? Issues with the material separating from the back of the transom?
