I'm so excited to find your channel! I inherited a violin from my son-in-law a few years ago and eventually I had the peg slipping problem. I put it away in a closet thinking it would be too expensive to take it in and fix it. Now I know how to do it myself (haven't tried it yet, but you've shown me how) and I see you have many great videos to help take the mystery out of taking care of my violin! Thanks so much!
Hellow John Kelly I have only one fine tuner om my violin and Wish to install 3 more. I already sow your excellent video on how to do that, but I`m nervous because a luthier said that it May mute The sound of The violin or make it a lot lower. what do you Think.
Just tune it as you would usually but make sure you tune it again and again and again... Depending on if it's a solid steel string or one that has a synthetic core, they may stretch for 48 hours or so. You just have to check in with the bridge as well, to make sure you are not pulling it too crooked (might start leaning towards the fingerboard). If you are, you'll have to straighten it out, to prevent it from warping.
Fantastic video, thank you!
Glad to help!

@@rachellebrockhoeft7836 Much love!!
Where do you attach a clip-on tuner on the violin? Thanks, Joel...
Most people will attach the clip-on tuner to a peg while they're tuning. let me know if you have any other questions!
@@KennedyViolins Thanks, Joel!
Hi why my violin D and G sounds funny when I Press on it. What cloud it be.
my new one just poped out lol
Practice, practice, practice! Putting strings on the first time can be frustrating for sure. :)
I now have 2 d strings
What if it’s a new string that needs to be stretched a little.
