    Steve,
Thank you for the story of 1st nations success. Rare and beautiful. Also, our ability to love our enemies is perhaps super natural rather than just intentional or thoughtful. Some are so unlovely, yet in His strength and goodness maybe if we are good vessels we can get there and bring a piece of His kingdom to earth.
    Christopher

Such a blessing to spend this time with you this morning. The choice of songs, the thoughtful messages in between, and the skilled presentation of the songs was especially life giving today. I will lean into learning as you have suggested. I know I need to employ cultural humility. Here is a definition used by a local organization of health care providers (CDBC) that I am finding especially helpful. "Cultural humility is a process of self-reflection to understand personal and systemic biases and to develop and maintain respectful processes and relationships based on mutual trust." Here's to more kindness too!

Steve, being able to watch you play these pieces is a wonderful gift for aspiring (third-rate) guitarists like me: thanks for this!

Thank you Steve for this episode of the loft series. As usual I enjoyed the insights you shared which for me are always food for thought if not prayer, especially regarding the use of YHWH as breath rather than a word. As a catholic Christian leader of song I struggled with the church’s take on not pronouncing it as Yahweh, but eventually decided to use “O Lord” rather than risk causing grief or offence to my Jewish brothers and sisters. Knowing you to be a learned and thoughtful Christian scholar, I’m sure you are aware of the controversy and would like to hear you’re thoughts about it. Our current hymnals now use “O Lord, I know you are near” which still grates little when I sing it, but I still love the song and it’s prayer.

Any plans to record a instrumental album? That first piece was amazing! Just a thought to put any recommended reading in the show notes as well.
