- Ladies and gentlemen, we present Episode 1 of BATGIRL: SPOILED!
We want to thank everyone for waiting so patiently while we ironed out the last few wrinkles.
What you are about to watch (or have just watched) is the first of two episodes designed to establish the rest of the series. In about 30 days you should see Episode 2, which will resolve this episode's cliffhanger. Then we will begin exploring Gotham along with Stephanie as she tries to recover from her "No Good Very Bad Day."
We filmed both episodes together, and Episode 2 is in post-production right now. We can't tell you exactly when it's going to drop, but like Episode 1 at Comikaze, we're looking for a comics convention to host the official premiere. News coming soon, folks!
We would also like to thank everyone who was involved in making this series possible, and who has shown their support thus far. This episode is "streets ahead" of what we produced for the teaser/trailer and we are aiming for Episode 3 and beyond to be "streets ahead" of these first two installments. We are learning the art of producing on a micro-budget (i.e. - nearly nothing) and each time we warm up the cameras it gets better and better.
Another big shout out goes to our star, Marisha Ray (@Marisha_Ray), for fighting for days of shooting in that very hot suit (literally and metaphorically). We may have almost killed her, but we have it on good authority she thinks it was all worth it.

Finally, a good fan film that makes me want more and I am so glad there it. This is the best Batman fan film I have seen and it"s even more great that it"s about Stephanie. You did a great job, lived up well to her and that's saying alot. Stephanie is my favorite.

Yep fantastic. This should be on tv as aseries, not freakin. Supergirl, and batwoman, they are a bunch of garbage. Now this ....batgirl is great.
I'm new to this series but so far I'm pretty impressed by the effort that went into this. It was entertaining, and the girl who plays Batgirl was funny as hell whenever she talks to Oracle. Have you girls ever thought of doing work with Ishmahawk, the people behind Nightwing The Series? Because I think a cross over between you guys would make for a fucking epic fan series cross over.

i was coming in thinking this would be about barbara but its a pleasant surprise that its steph and you did barbara as oracle helping her out.

The production is awesome, the script actually went places I did not think it would go, and I had no clue that Marisha Ray did stuff like this. Stephanie is my favorite ass kicking Batgirl, and wow did this video/cast do her and DC justice. I loved it!!!

The cinematography was way too awesome for a fan film. Loved the series. More entertaining than The CW's Supergirl and I mean that. Sucks that there are only two episodes. Great work Sax Carr, Marisha Ray and team! On a downside, Batman was poorly cast.

i thought this was really good. some parts i wasnt too thrilled about but overall really awesome job. i also like how you incorporated the humor into it, its not too serious. and i can see steph saying all those things while being bored waiting for some action and being that cocky just like in the comics :)
This is pretty good. Push the writing, less internet humor and mic the action scenes better--this could be on it's way to Arrow status.

Good acting, likable and interesting characterization, great fight choreography, well done camera work, lighting and sets; this series has a great deal of potential.

The production, acting, blocking, scenery, props, costumes, dialogue, casting, editing... pretty much everything was extremely [and unexpectedly] excellent. The only thing that didn't "fit" was the personality the writers gave Batgirl: This was more like watching Cat Woman doing her thing in a Batgirl suit. Batgirl is the teen debutant altar ego of Batman -- her "superpower" is her idealized view of the world and her strong opinions about how people should treat each other. Her standards and innocence are important qualities to keep, because a gritty, foul-mouthed, world-weary Batgirl doesn't have a reason to help her fellow man, making her pretty much un-endearing. If you have plans to make more episodes, I'd suggest softening your main character a bit and giving her back her virginity. Please accept my comments as they are intended -- as helpful and respectful. I can't imagine how incredibly difficult it was to bring this project to completion and I don't mean to trivialize your monumental efforts. Thank you for sharing it here with us.

The arc of the series is about her finding her innocence and discipline. Stephanie was raised by a master criminal. She is innately cynical and yet there is something in her that is playing with the job. Playing on te inside of the mission. Check Stephanie in the comics, she reads just like this.
I really do hope that we get to explore this series again.

I know it reads "Spoiled" but its one thing to be Spoiled and another to be Annoying/Cocky I mean come on, are you basing your source Material from Batman & Robin? :p and really, she can't handle a group of Regular thugs? What the Ass kind of training did she have before she was let loose out into Gotham? -_-
Let me ask you something, Matthew: have you ever been hit RIGHT underneath the sternum with a hammer? I'll tell you something, I do Taekwondo, and when we're sparring, we're wearing a lot of gear, including a chest protector, and getting punched or kicked in that spot will take your breath away for at least ten seconds, if not more. SHE was not wearing a chest protector, SHE got slammed by a hammer after getting a bit worn down by various thugs (which most likely broke a rib or two), SHE got right back up to fight some more, and then SHE got punched in the exact same spot.
It has nothing to do with what kind of training she had, nor to do with the fact that she is a girl, Will. Do you really expect her -- or anyone else -- to stand up after all of that?
I'll agree with you, a street thug with basic hand-to-hand combat knowledge would not equal in technique, power, etc. to someone who has actually trained, and you're right in that she wasn't very well trained. However, a hit to the solar plexus will still knock a person down, no matter how well they've been trained. Even a person who has had to time to prepare for a hit like that -- even someone like Jet Li or the Batman -- will still feel pain. The solar plexus is just one of the many areas of the human body that is simply delicate.

I can't believe you guys threw an attempted rape scene in this, let alone the first episode. I'm incredibly unimpressed with what could have been an amazing project. I hope you take these comments to heart and learn from this.

As a fan of Batman, and all his great universe, I need to say: it is amazing what other fans out there are capable to do. We don't get a Nolan's film every year, or a great game like Arkham City whenever I want one, so I really enjoy when talented fans and artits do stuff like this, You know, give me a chance to enjoy more of that fiction i love so much. So great job and thank you, to those who made this video. Can't wait for episode 2.
