I sudently saw the book of Harry Potter, and I said we need to get rid of that book!. She said no! it is ok! I could not believe what I heard, my ❤ was pounding! The Holy Spirit was letting me know she was wrong. I prayed every day for her and her family. The oldest was visiting a Psychologist, she was about 11years old. I wonder and said to my self. This is the door the enemy is entering to manifest what he is going to do. I had to pray all of the time. The enemy tried to attack me a few times in the Apt or living quarters there in that place. Subtlety is and always has been the devil's forte. Of course these books are light hearted and fun. Otherwise people wouldn't let their kids read it. Witchcraft, sexuality, etc. are eased onto people (kids especially) carefully, in a way that disarms parents and makes it seem harmless. Then once you're desensitized to it, the messages get stronger but they're palatable, because you've been conditioned to not be offended by it. Think about it... If someone in 1950 read or watched the Harry Potter series (even in black and white, with less impressive effects), they would've been outraged, and probably terrified. But shows like Bewitched and Sabrina the Teenage Witch made it light and cute. So by the time Harry Potter rolled around, summoning the dead, communing with spirits, and employing ungodly spiritual forces to assist you (aka familiar spirits) seems like nothing. Just light hearted reading.
Deuteronomy 18:9-14 clearly warns us that witchcraft is an abomination to the Lord. God is love and wants to protect us by warning us. The enemy tricks you into thinking it is OK to read and watch these things. But Satan doesn't tell you that when you do, you open a door to demons. If you have opened a door, repent and ask God to forgive you for disobeying Him and ask Him to deliver you from the demons you have allowed in. I think Harry Potter should be read as a teen and not as a child. Someone old enough to understand that this is just a story, a fiction. It may tend to introduce the idea of witchcrafts which a child could just barely understand what it really is. However, HP is not just all about spells and such it is how the characters have struggled to fight evil and understand that the process is not as easy one may think. Evil can consume and will try to consume us al the time but what are you willing to sacrifice just to turn away (from power, immortality etc) with it is all that matters. And this what I appreciated in this series. And don't overthink too.

It all depends the stability of your connection with God. Personally, I watched the films during my childhood, fully recognizing it as fiction and for mere entertainment. And I knew where to draw the line between poorly written fiction and my reality, a life God blessed me. I've seen these books influence kids into witchcraft, or a dire wish to live in the world of Hogwarts. These kids probably do not have an early God-based life in their household. Pay attention to what your kids are doing! And influence God in your family!
The only reason anyone would think they could "handle" physically playing with fire, is because they have lost the sensitivity of the nerves in the fingers. And the only reason any Christian would think they are unaffected by demonic books, is because their sensitivity toward the Holy Spirit's warnings, is deadened.

It all depends the stability of your connection with God. Personally, I watched the films during my childhood, fully recognizing it as fiction and for mere entertainment. And I knew where to draw the line between poorly written fiction and my reality, a life God blessed me. I've seen these books influence kids into witchcraft, or a dire wish to live in the world of Hogwarts. These kids probably do not have an early God-based life in their household. Pay attention to what your kids are doing! And influence God in your family!
The only reason anyone would think they could "handle" physically playing with fire, is because they have lost the sensitivity of the nerves in the fingers. And the only reason any Christian would think they are unaffected by demonic books, is because their sensitivity toward the Holy Spirit's warnings, is deadened.
