thanks for the tips. that was helpful. I just cleared DP-600 exam. I also used mock exams from Skillcertpro which are damm close to main exam. I got nearly 80% from their sets. they got detailed explanations and helped me to understand the concepts as well. recommended. This was not a easy exam. Good prep and efforts are needed to clear this certification. Good luck for the ones who is aiming for it
I recently completed the DP-600 beta exam. A word of advice for those preparing to take the exam soon: make sure to set aside ample time for the Use Case section. Those questions might catch you by surprise!
are you using or plan to use Fabric in the near future? IMO: MSFT is very very late to this dance and mis-calculated the adoption of Synapse. Snowflake hit the ground running by filling in a big need with AWS having a bad product. Good for them.
@@nikhil-sawhney MSFT is betting a lot on the success of his product, but there is zero guarantee it will be successful. So, don't get your hopes up too high.
I've been doing the Learn tracks for the certification (getting certified is not on my radar right now, but interested in the tech). I've been really impressed
I'm planning on sitting the dp600 exam anticipating the release of Fabric for GCC tenant, I am currently a System Integration Advisor and Power BI Lead Engineer for CDC.
I'm eager to see Fabric fully available within GCC (US Government for those not familiar with that acronym). I know the team is pushing on that. Let us know how you fair with the Career Hub and resources in preperation.
Just took the DP-600 Exam. To give context about my experience, the certs that I have right now are: PL300, DP500, DP100, AI102. Personally I would rank this as the 2nd hardest exam that I’ve done just below the DP500. Since it’s beta phase the exam covers a lot of content and just studying MS Learn won’t enough, the approach I took was read up on the docs, study TSQL and Spark thoroughly, brush up on my DAX and Power Query. Best of luck to those who will take the exam!
For me, its not a question of passing the exam, but are there customers who are committed to going down this path? What migration tools are there? Is there a usful cost matrix comparison? What are the actual benefits of migrating from an azure sql or synapse setup over to Fabric.
I got my PL-300 last year! Will take sometime to get on PL-600, some of the workloads are pretty new to me (Notebooks?) Also, I wish we didnt have to recertify every year.. why isnt a Certifctaion valid for say two or three years? Having to redo them every year, takes away time from focusing on other learning... cant imagine what a person with several MS Certifcations will go through :D
I am working with Power BI almost daily and recertifying in "Power BI Data Analyst Associate" takes my like an hour a year because it is just a few questions, you can take on them online and have several attempts. So I think if you are constantly working with the tool, recertifying is no problem. But I understand that if you have a lot of different certifications it can be challanging to not lose track of all of them.
I'm planning on sitting the dp600 exam in the next month, my company is a Microsoft partner and are pushing for some Fabric certifications. My recommendation for a good learning path is to go with Udemy, it helped me with my PL300 cert
Hi Jesse - I'm not familiar with Udemy offerings, but I can wholeheartedly endorse the content on Microsoft Learn - learn.microsoft.com/credentials/certifications/exams/dp-600/ (scroll down to find the learning modules)
I haven't explored what is available on Udemy for Fabric. I'm sure content will become available. I agree with Shannon that the first step - and baseline - should be the learn content. It's also FREE! You could then supplement with other resources such as Guy in a Cube (shameless plug), Udemy and other available courses. What I've learned from Certifications over the years is that while knowing and having experience in the technology is key, it's also helpful to understand how Microsoft phrases things. The Learn content will help you with that part also whereas 3rd party training may not present in that way and potentially confuse you with regards to the certification. Food for thought!
hi, scheduled exam for this Friday and I plan to rock it. I already did PL-300, DP-500 so I hope this experience will help also here. I will post how did that go and keep your fingers crossed for me, thank!
It was very challenging exam with a lot of details covered. I was surprised that I could use ms learn documentation online. There were 59 questions but I didn’t answer last 3 because of time limit. I recommend to go through all courses and all documentation.
I did pass the exam! I did the really early beta so today there are quite a lot more official training materials that can help to prepare for the exam.
I have the PL 300 Certification and I wanted to know if getting DP 600 helps me get better job opportunities? or If you can guide what other certifications to get. I currently am certified in both Tableau and PowerBI.
@@mrbartuss1 - I'd definitely go through the Learn modules and the study guide to ensure you're proficient in all of the skills measured on the exam. You can find those here: learn.microsoft.com/credentials/certifications/exams/pl-300/
What about DP-500: Designing and Implementing Enterprise-Scale Analytics Solutions Using Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Power BI? Wouldn't that be a more gentle transition from PL-300? I looked at DP-600, and if you coming from just Power BI background, the learning curve is pretty steep. How would you rate DP-500?
Hi Natalia! DP-500 and DP-600 contain some similar skills. I'd recommend to dig into the DP-500 content on Learn, but note that the non-Power BI skills are related to Azure Synapse Analytics and Microsoft Purview, outside of the new Microsoft Fabric offering. DP-600 contains what you'd need to know as an analytics engineer using Fabric. I hope this helps!
I'm sure there is something out there that someone has created. Microsoft hasn't published anything yet. Guy in a Cube self-hosts training and doesn't publish to Udemy. My recommendation is that if you do take any non-Microsoft training, including something from Guy in a Cube, that you validate it against Microsoft content and information. Microsoft is the real source of truth. Not to say there isn't great training out there. There is.
Hi @spacespectale. There isn't a DP-600 course yet on Udemy. Personally, I don't create courses based on beta syllabuses, as it may change significantly before it gets launched - but it is on my "watch list". Phillip
Being a former External Vendor for Microsoft before my Masters degree, I used to get 100% discounts for the Microsoft exams, but given I am a student now, it is hard to manage budgets for certifications. I already have a PL-300 certification, so can I apply for further discounts on the DP-600 certificate? I’ve already joined the career hub challenge for the 50% discount!
