Kingston Lacy, Dorset An Italian inspired interior

A house where William John designed the interior while living in exile. He sent decoration pieces with detailed instruction on where to display them or incorporate it. He died while in exile without seeing his loved house.
Plenty of ground to cover and recommended to visit in May once the garden in full bloom.

Wonderful 😍, my favourite is the Spanish room , however I was wishing for garden tour but not in full bloom.

Gotta say I'm shocked to see so many things just left out in the open, for visitors to tuck in their handbag or pocket and take home as a 'souvenir' if so inclined... there was no security staff to be seen anywhere.

@ItsMe-yv9jd there are volunteers in each room and large bags generally not allowed. It also depends on the honesty of the visitors.
