My dog is an escape artist. I just purchased this collar last night after I had to go searching for my dog at 1 am. He had me ugly crying I was so worried.
@@tonyfortes2772 Tell me about it! Me too.... The only thing I can't seem to bring myself to is Farmers Dog food --- I would have to get an advance on my life insurance to afford it :) haha
After back surgery, ugh, had to decamp for about two months to my sisters' farm outside of Asheville NC. Although many of the fields are fenced for the regular crew of farm stock I was really unsure of Lincoln, a nearly year old Bloodhound being safe and secure on the property. Bought the collar to make sure I could keep an eye on him. The fields are separated by gates which he could pretty easily squeeze under but for the most part he was happy to hang with the pigs, calves and cows. One day when a sister went out to bring him in, she my saw while he was at the gate waiting, he was collarless!!!! All I could think about was the acreage we would have to walk through to find the collar and our chances of success. Went to my phone which even though not on Lincoln, it directed me to the location of the collar in the lower field so no joke was able to walk right to the collar laying in the field!!
Just bought one after scouring reviews! This one is the best. We just a border collie pup she’s insane lol. A bit skittish so this is peace of mind for me. Thanks so much for helping make up my mind. Appreciate it.
We just recieved our fi colllar for one of our dogs and we absolutely love it! We love the collar and the sleek design as well as the step and activity tracking, sleep tracking and real time gps. Its super reliable !
One major con I can say is I despise subscriptions for stuff like this, it’s like paying your dogs phone bill…you also have to pay the price of the collar. With an activation fee. Which was $212 + $3-$4 a week fee for either 6months or a 2 year plan. The collar itself sounds great, but they would have been better with having people pay the $212 and that’s it, or a monthly subscription. But both is greedy…one or the other.
Just pay $20 month to month then. 🙄 Complaining when they literally give that option for complainers like you. 🙄 You don’t HAVE to spend that much through the door
I lost my beloved dog last year when he ran away from a wildfire and I have no idea if he died or survived. With this collar at least I have peace of mind that I will be able to know where my new dog is at all times.
Just an FYI these only work as good as the cell services so if you go on vacation for a hike where there’s not that much service you will not find your dog….
my dogs keep getting out no matter what we do raising the fence covering the holes they jump through covering the holes they dug through, this would be a game changer. i do have a question though would the app alert you if your dog got out behind your back lets says you're inside watching tv right? and your dog is outside doing his business and the dog decides hey i'm gonna jump or dig through the fence. would the app alert you if your dog has escaped?
I love the collar but it definitely feels strange basically paying my dogs phone bill every month. Worth mentioning the cost and subscription price imo
@alyssa-ce6hg $19 a month, i say it's only really worth the price if your dog gets out alot. My husky is like houdini and gets out constantly so I'm having to leave work alot to go find her
I just bought the Series 3 large for my 40 lb mixed hound after she escaped from a boarder. I was very luck to find her running down a busy road in traffic far from where she escaped! (The medium collar was just a little tight.) My only comment so far is that the collar is heavier than I expected. I decided on the Fi because of the advertise battery life - hope it holds up!
Thank you for your video I just bought two I wish I would've knew about these sooner my 10 year old lab got loose from me and went into the woods for two days ended up on a mountain thankfully someone took her to the shelter where I got a call bought this first thing when I got her home for her and for my 8 month old labradoodle because I never want to have that feeling I had again.
@@dad.0 you could have mentioned the 6 month promise you have to make with them when you first sign up. THAT is what i was really looking for. I found it on the site
Thank you for this review. I am actually contemplating using this in order to track my bike, oddly it seems to be the best fitting for this purpose. Is there some deal-breaker or thing I'm missing that would make this difficult, that anyone here can think of?
Hello! Great review, very well made video. Had a couple question not mentioned in the reviews I have watched. Does it have the training beep/vibrate? My phone coverage is pretty poor when I go outside of the city such as camping. Is that going to make this device useless for me if my phone has no connection?
I think my favorite new feature is the fact that I can easily change the collar itself, but keep the GPS tracker. The series 2 had the gps tracker sewn into the collar, making it difficult to switch out. Series 3 lets me swap collars with ease.
If people have the first gen, they could just use a harness or second collar to be what they attach a leash to, if they are worried about pull and breaking this expensive collar. That's what I'd do to just preserve the new version anyways.
A month an a half? I was thinking it would be like my Samsung watch and I'd have to charge it every day! Great review BTW! I'm in China and there are tons of fireworks and my Dog took off last night for the second time this year (New Year's was the first, July is the second, so not too bad overall, but ya I'm looking into a tracking collar for her and this review gave a great over view of what I should be looking for.
I've owned 3 Fi's, one of which is the latest Series 3. I take my dog with me everywhere and am disappointed the it frequently doesn't notify me that my dog is away from home until 10 minutes after we leave. Trying to follow where we have been has not once ever looked like your map. So perfect going up and down each street, when mine jumps around like a bunch of z's. I have to admit that I really thought that series 3 would be so much better that series 2 I was using. Disappointed!
Great video, thanks for the information! I purchased one of these last night waiting for it to come now. I have two dogs, one is a 13lb yorkie mix and one is a 18 lb Chiweenie. Do you think the small size color would be ok for the smallest one? Just curious if this will be too heavy. Thanks!
@@dad.0 Great thanks!!! I did have an airtag on him but for some reason one day I was watching him on camera and noticed the tag was beeping like it was alerting someone that it was nearby.... No one was home. He looked very confused and scared

Thanks for the great review... I used TractiveGPS for dog before but had to recharge every 2 days (very annoying)... but one of the cool features was that it was possible to send a signal sound on the collar, so when my dog came out of the safe zone, I would just beep his collar and he would come running back... Is that possible with this collar? maybe you forgot to mention this feature...

You say you can switch out collars but you failed to say ONLY Fi collars. I have a Long collar and the GPS piece will NOT work on it. It doesn’t have the same connection
My series 3 is practically worthless. It will not connect to lost dog tracking and does not notify when dog is outside of safe zone. It is also very strange that there are no recent review videos or comments on practically any source of media. I feel like this is a scam.

I have a series 2 for one dog. I got another pup so decided to get a series 3 for him. So far I’m not impressed. It doesn’t live track.
