for those who don't know (zwag included) the way illaoi's tentacle's work is that when there is a spirit within range they are coded to slam one time automatically on them. And then you can use w to make them slam again on the same target. It is a feature not a bug. The 4 slams is the bug from the runan's.
well it slams 1 time before lvl 7 after lvl 7 tentacles slam 2 times . Not many people knows that
@@vejderairon994 those 2 slams happen bcs if the spirit is in range of tentacles it hits again after i think 4 sec. it is written on E spell

Props to the teammates. The hardest part of playing Illoai is having a team that can follow up. Lost a ton of games where I crushed the enemy team all game but my team didn't know how to get anything on the map from it.
Playing with Illoai 101:
If they send 2+ top, take a team fight at an advantage, win, take an objective
If they send 0-1 top, stall the enemy team so Illoai wins top fight and pushes
Pro strat, once Illoai gets near inhib they'll almost always send 4, or 2+ their most fed champs. Let Illoai bait them into a chase while you bush cheese, then collapse on them
Strats to win against Illaoi:
If she misses e, and isn't near wall tentacles punish her
If she ults, run away until the tentacles clear. You've got around 50-60 seconds before next ult
DO NOT go in 1 by 1, always attack together to burst through her healing

And illaoi ult can negate cc. Even morde ult if you time it properly

To give you a background about Illaoi's kit, her tentacles slam scales with attack speed, it slams much faster. When you pull a spirit, nearby tentacles automatically slams it. That's why it's better to use your E then ult, so that you can get that automatic slam.
For those why the tentacles slams multiple times is cause of runaan...
Illaoi 2nd skill is a auto attack ability which means if there are multiple target in the area with a tentacle on it a single W can trigger the effect around to those who got hit by runaan .

It only attacks automatically after the copy from E dies. Only automatically attacks that target of her E. Aside that...only W activates the tentacles.
@@thanatos8618tentacles will automatically hit the soul every few seconds. Then, if the soul dies or the target gets out of range, it will automatically hit the champion itself every few seconds until the curse is over.

Tentacles auto target pulled souls so yes it should slam twice when w is used, soul also counts as a champion for ult and healing purposes so it's recommended you E before you ult for max tentacles and slam time while in animation, and if the target leaves the area or the soul is defeated then tentacles target the champ. OH and ult makes all tentacles slam faster, shortens cool down on w, and makes it so tentacles are both invisible and don't show there slam area

You should do a vid where you duo Illaoi with Karthus. His ult hits both the champ and the tentacled clone, lets you 1-shot them, after she grabs, with his ult super early if he gets fed. 😂

Shyvana with runaans sounds really strong now - rageblade may proc q reset allowing you to spam the double hit. It also sounds strong for proccing heartsteelcas the radius is 300, and I wonder if it procs sundered sky
"building runaan's first is never a good idea" I disagree. ARAM is perfectly valid use of first item hurricane on a handful of champions.

@zwag her ult will make tentacles invulnerable within a certain range of illaoi. And the tentacles will slam at 50 percent speed at the spirited champion as long as you are in range. Fun video!

Could you try: Illaoi, with Grasp. Iceborn> riftmaker>Sunderer then just kinda pick your poison on last 2. I tried with steraks and cleaver. Shojinn might be better than steraks if you get fed early. but cleaver seems to be a must since the ap on passive is turned to physical damage. TY, Sir! love your stuff.
Lmao I saw this yesterday and was like man if only zwag would make a video on it.
I think the multiple slams working and not is due W being a dash/leap. SO if W moves you even just 1 unit it counts a dash and runanns interaction gets canceled, just like it doesnt work on Smolder and Akshan E's. Probobly due to being this way multiple hacarim E knockbacks would NOT work.

This is why ILLAOI is one of the champions I despite as a jungler. Absolutely a pain to gank and often win/dominate her lane. She has 1 vs 2, 3, 4, 5 potential even when she's feeding. Tanky, high sustain, huge diversified dmg, AoE.

Since Runaan can make the tentacles slam up to 4 times, and phantom hit from Rageblade applies on-hit effect twice....do you think you can make them slam up to 8 times with both these items ?

Yeah it happens thanks to a interaction bug or lets say thanks to a wired bit of coding where the Slam is triggerd as a onhit effect but the "buff" of activating W is cleard after the animation. So when the bolds from Runans are mid air and you activate W you gain Slamonhit that are triggert with the Bolts but the buff is not cleard since the animation is not yet finished. At least that would be my guess.
I don't think that's it. Illaoi auto attack speed is not enough for that, and it would work for range champs. I think it's a simple case of w being coded as an auto attack effect when used as an auto (this is a bit obscure, but illaoi's w can either be a spell or an auto based on the range you attack from). So when used w as an auto, I think what happens is that runnans trigger and duplicate the effect.
@@mufurrIf they would multiply the effect of the W then the slam would multitrigger on singel use of W what it don't look to do. It only seams to trigger if you Auto atack first. And ther is multiple points in the Video where you see that the slam is first triggert on a target hit by the Bolt before going for the original W target. If it whre a On attack and not On hit effect Runans would do nothing. But this give me to wonder if Rageblade would work if you would use W on the second attack but I am not sure enough if both "onhits" come down in the same game tick or if ther is a slight delay and it would not work.

When u hit an E during a clash, its not that important to focus it. Focus all your damage to champions instead since they're near u already. U can actually see the difference when enemy viego ganked u, ur too scared to use E since youre out of mana but bam double kill. It also shows on some of the clash as well :)

It has nothing to do with the auto. It has to deal with being close enough to not have the slam do the gap close. If it does the small dash it wont happen. And you get up to 3 slams depending on how many targets are around. Illaoi has always been this way it is just not reliable.

Illoai is so busted... difficult to fight her and her many tentacles. There doesn't seem to be any consequence for using her E to grab your soul... there should be a way to do a certain amount of damage to her, and she gets slowed/stunned...
I alsoike your idea of lowering her base damage.

I don't know how you beat Yorick in top lane now. He's so overtuned at the moment that it just feels like no one can lane against him. Hitting E is the easiest skillshot in the game currently, and the ghouls melt everything for no effort. At least hitting Illaoi E requires some braincells to hit consistently.
