I’ve had my birds for 4 days now (it’s two of them, one is older, another is younger but they’re both like about 5 months) and when I first got them they would not even go near my hand… and yesterday was the first time he got on my hand willingly and was okay with it, and when he jumped out of his cage he crawled TO my hand and hopped on it because every time I he jumps out his cage I help him back up and I guess he knows that now
they are so cute
Looks like mommy needs a new hair-do. Luckily you have two professionals to help with that.🤣🤣🤣

My most social budgies I had was free flying and Sunny the female was most attached.Just got 2 Green Cheek Conjures Very social and like your attention! Just got them and was feeding them and they were all over me.ALOT more active and clowning then any Budgie I ever owned.Watching from Southwestern Ontario.

A tip if you have a parrot foraging wheel or any foraging toy is if your struggling to get your bird to eat veggies and fruit instead of treats replace it with veggies or fruit since they know that the toy has treats. It worked for my cockatiel but it may not work for your bird it just depends on the bird.

Look up beginner recall training for birds, you will find lots of amazing info on how to do it :)

What a wonderful bond you have with your birds 💓 what do you use for training treats? My guys like sunflower seeds and sesame sticks but I don't want to give them too many and would prefer something I can make into smaller pieces

I absolutely love your videos, they have been invaluable research for me in preparation for getting my first parrot. I'd love to see a video about different toys and what natural behaviours different toys satisfy. Foraging is a fairly obvious one but I've just discovered there's such a thing as preening toys and am a bit confused. Would love you unique perspective!!

It depends on the species! Something like an eclectus is obvious by the coloring, but something like a conure can be much more hidden, such as head structure, or just the fact that they lay an egg! The usual way to tell is a DNA test if you aren’t sure!

Hey so I have these two birds and one of them I’ve had for a month and I’ve been trying all the bonding techniques but they still fly away from me and hide around their cage. I’m just confused because I had a bird before that warmed up to me without me doing any bonding techniques sadly little midnight died but I had her for only a week and she warmed up to me. I’m just curious if there’s anything that might be playing a role maybe the new bird or…. I do have a different cage I could put my new bird in so that I can just focus on the one if the new bird is playing a role in this. Also the new bird isn’t warmed up either which is fine since she’s new. Just wondering thanks! -Maddie and my birds Skye and Ola
i have a question abt happy huts my birds sleep on top of it and not inside it is it still safe for them and can they take naps with me lol
I think It could be an issue because their nails can get caught on the fibers of the happy but wether they’re inside it or on top. I suggest taking it out would be a good option cuz it also encourages nesting behaviors and hormonal imbalances cuz its warm and cozy like a nest (I heard) but that’s just my point of view !
No happy hut is not safe at all and do you take naps with your bird if yes then it’s super dangerous for your bird you might accidentally roll over your bird hope it helps you
I would recommend not having a happy hut at all. It’s dangerous and any soft material that they get comfortable on can cause hormones. Also sleeping/taking naps with your birds can be very bad. If you accidentally rolled over they wouldn’t be able to push you off. They could die.

Hi Won! I have a Green Cheek Conure who is 7 months old and has grown in his flight feathers since he got his wings clipped when he was a baby. He's starting to fly around everywhere as he gets more confident around the house and chewing on things and knocking things over (including a big vase). He gets really hyper and just flies everywhere. I try to get him down calmly with target stick or treats, but he always then gets scared of me and flies away. Sometimes he goes onto really high up places where I can't reach him but he makes a lot of noise because he's communicating with the birds outside. What should I do? Is this just a phase that happens when Green Cheeks mature?
Before, he'll just sit on my shoulder but now he flies everywhere chewing on things and I'm not sure if this is just a part of parrot maturing or if I'm doing something wrong. I'd like to point out my family and I give him attention almost the whole day so I don't think it's part of us not giving him enough attention. Even sometimes I can barely train him because he wants to fly off and do his own thing. I try to be patient because maybe he's just tired, but it's usually after not a lot of time of training when he used to be able to do it for extended periods of time. Even in the morning when he hasn't eaten anything yet. Do you have any advice, because I don't want my Green Cheek to be in his cage the whole day, and I don't want to not spend time with him.
Also, just to add aside from my little rant: I love your videos so much, because they're so entertaining. Your birds are so cute and your dog seems to get along pretty well with them!!! You have the best advice when it comes to birds and I can't wait to see more of your vids in the future!

Today the 28th of the 6th my pet bird buddley paseed away she was a moustache parrot and today she couldnt move so we let her passed im still crying while i right this she was my first parot and im so devestaded i have her tail feathers but i still cry im sorry if i wasted your time but i needed to let it
