This tore my heart apart. I loved it so much, loved the Beren and Luthien references for the second verse *and Finrod's death oh my gosh* I love the art style, I *love this*
This is amazing in so many ways, the oath, the ships burning, Fingolfin going down like a GOAT, Fingon saving Maedhros, Maglor keeping Elrond and Elros, Finrod taking down the werewolf at the cost of himself. But what a way to break my heart when Maglor realized it would be him in the end... alone.
Namo as Tyresias Feanor as Odisseus THIS IS SO GREAT. SO GREAT. ALSO "I see a brother final stand" and you show Fingolfin last duel against Melkor I M SCREAMING.
There are not enough words to describe how much I love this. Tolkien's work is my favorite but there are not many fanmade works like this. I wish there were because this is simply phenomenal, seeing the Silmarillion portrayed with one of my favorite songs. Marvelous work!
This is so good! I've been debating whether to listen to Epic for ages since I never finished reading the Iliad and didn't pick up the Odyssey but now I'm convinced. And rip Finrod that part was great.
danggg That's cool. Especially the flashes to different events i.e. the kinslaying, beren and luthien (I presume?), and some of the other stuff! Sadly I didn't know what a few of the things were which just means I gotta do more research! Great job!
If you want to know about any particular bits then I can give you a rundown :D You presume correctly! That first section is the disaster that was Aqualonde, and the second 'song of past romance' is meant to be Beren and Luthien :) The first 'song of past romance' one is meant to be Feanor and Nerdanel, since there honestly aren't a lot of 'romances' in the Silmarillion, and all of the moments in this are at least partially connected to Feanor, or by extension the Silmarils. Hence Fingolfin for the first 'brother's final stand' and Doriath being sacked by the sons of Feanor - for the Silmarils, in the 'palace covered in red'. Honestly though- If you had shown me this animatic a few months ago (even though I made the thing) I wouldn't have had a clue what was going on. I only got properly 'into' the Silmarillion like, three months ago 😂 Same with Epic actually, though that was more like two weeks ago. (*glances at the amount of text- 'maybe I wrote too much..' *thinks about it.... 'eh. It's Fine~’)
The second 'brother's final stand' is Fingon fighting Gothmog. The other balrog (which I left a bit 'up to the imagination' cause I wasn't sure how the anatomy would work), is supposed to be holding him back with a whip, but I forgot to double check that particular part- Gothmog also carries an axe which I thought was cool in an 'identifying weapon!' kind of a way, but yes. It is Fingon. He's the only guy I gave braids to in this animatic, but it is a bit hard to tell 😅 -edit Oh yeah- just in case you were asking about the bit before that as well - that's the fall of Gondolin, with Maeglin looking all suspicious~ (I was debating putting Idril in there, but I decided against it) :)

I've seen this dozens of times and just now realized 1:25 is Caranthir Celegorm and Curufin!!!!
Omg this is amazing
So underrated! Perfect art to match a perfect song

This is amazing! Using Fingolfin for 'A brother's final stand' was inspired!
The ultimate crossover. Thank you algorithm
OH MY GOD the algorithm has BLESSED ME

Genius! Absolutely heartbreaking and beautiful!
I'm a bit lost for what's happening between 1:57 and 2:01, Nirnaeth, Fingon's death, Hurin's last stand, Sack of Nargothrond?
