Hey Frank, enjoying all the content. Moved to NL this past summer and just bought a second hand SXS (RZR 800 EPS) and had a couple runs on it so far. Absolutely loving it! Hoping to do some longer trails on the Avalon this summer! Next year might even do the west coast!
I want to travel east from Argentia next year and then back track all the way to Port Aux Basques. Maybe go to Carbonear or Bay Robert’s. I hear they have been working on a trail. Not sure how good it is.
Yes we did. We came down the dirt road and came to a gate we couldn’t get around so we went back about 100 yards to a small trail to took you to cul-de-sac. And we road the pavement down over the hill.
I am looking to purchase a commander this year.....I noticed you already answered in the comments that you are happy with your 700 engine. Are you still happy with it, have you ever felt the need for a bigger engine? Do you use the machine for yard work, snow plowing .....will 700 be a good fit for all these tasks? 6k more for the 1000 engine is a lot of money. Thank you in advance!
I worried like crazy that the 700 wouldn’t have the power I wanted. I had an 800 atv so I agonized about it. I have zero regrets. It’s peppy and torqued in such away it’s amazing. I can do 85kph with room in the peddle. I’m a trail touring kinda guy not a mudd’er or racer but very happy with it. I don’t have a plow but expect it would kill it no issues.
I feel sorry for the people that had to leave the machine on the trail, those big SxS pack a lot of great, but the weight must be hard on the suspension. Have to make sure to check out the machine before a big trip. I take a lot of tools, extra wheel bearings, electrical switches, spare ignition. My brother has the same machine, we try to pack spares that cover each other, but I guess sometimes things happen. your machines look pretty new and reliable, good to have someone who is mechanical along. Keep up with the great videos, maybe meet up on the trail someday.
Sorry we have a closed group. But you can download trax and follow my videos. Also google crossing Newfoundland by ATV. Patrick has everything laid out.
What month is this?
First week of August.
Watching all your videos Frank, getting ready to go, everything is booked for end July
Nice! We do the west coast first week
Of August
Another great day on the trail, Frank! Too bad about the Gaff Topsail trail though.
It’s a nice hike. I expect we’ll walk it from here on in.

Did you travel into Deer Lake on the Main Dam Rd as opposed to the T-Railway? Did you jump on it after crossing the outlet of the dam?
