i'm late to this song but it definitely hit me right in the center of my childhood pain. Feeling othered by everyone but also desperately hiding and surviving; being wild to the point of self destruction because maybe you have a little bit of a death wish when part of you already feels like it's dying in the dark. I found my place in the sun and my chance to be the person I am, even when others didn't stand by that person.
