@@SaffySprocket riding my Zero I hear many things for example the sound of the rubber changes while riding as cold tyres sound different than warm tyres. I don't miss the ICE and I don't miss changing gears ^^

There are a lot of benefits of electric, the torque is highly adictive. And the desire to keep the noise and smell of petrol hanging around as the weekend rider will remain strong for a long while.

I don't hate them, I just don't believe the infrastructure exists to make it viable as a replacement for my petrol bike . . . . that and the equivalent for my current GSX-S1000 costs twice as much to buy. @@SaffySprocket yer can't wait it's bound to happen with some kind of self charge fitted ,must only be like and alternator on a petrol engine but fitted to a electric bike
Not even three minutes in and this is the cringiest footage committed to film I’ve seen in a long time. Genuinely feel a unique mix of impressed, sad, and embarrassed for Dale. The poor guy has a hard enough job as it is selling electric bikes that he has to assure people “looks like a REAL motorcycle” 😂
I was looking forward to buying myself a zero right up until I took a test ride and it left me feeling unimpressed. It was like the bike had no soul and left me feeling like it was a big toy with go fast stripes on. Petrol head all the way for me I'm afraid 😂.
Zero bikes are too expensive, aimed I think at the middle class city trendies who drive German prestige cars. They also need to stop charging more to unlock already built-in extras like more range, as some reviewers have explained. I do like the look of them tho’…maybe if I come up lucky on the National Lottery I might put in an order😊
I notice there was no discussion of the price of Zero bikes. They are astonishingly expensive for what you get, hugely more than an equivalent petrol bike. Add that to the current issues EV cars are going through with insurance premiums going through the roof, likely to be copied by bike insurers and they are just a complete non entity for the moment. This on top of the logistics pain of limited range and charging times, a nightmare if i wanted a day out with friends. Currently very much a commuting toy for roch people I'm afraid, the technology i find interesting, and if zero want to lend me one for this coming summer to convince me otherwise I'd take them up on it, but i just can't see them being adopted as petrol replacements anytime soon in the same way some EV cars are
I'm not against electronic motorcycles or cars and new technologies in general but the motorcycle is a motorcycle with the internal combustion engine with the tank where the fuel comes in I wouldn't want to see a motorcycle without Tank and bad lies are expensive, electric motorcycles, they have a relatively little autonomy and we need a lot of time to charge them,, so if these two characteristics change then they will become much more affordable and of course they should be made more cheap.
The issue with electric bikes isn't necessarily the bikes; it's the lack of infrastructure, but it's coming! and when the infrastructure hits, electric bikes will easily outperform petrol!
Not forgetting that electric vehicles have done more damage to the environment that ice vehicles have lithium mining leaves vast areas of open acid lakes. And the child labour to get other components. And the fact there is not enough lithium that can be made available to carry on making batteries.
Wonder what the insurance is like for electric bikes? Add the cost of insurance to losing 50% of the value in the first 6 months, and the experience of owning one of these seems pretty costly......................
Probably cheaper at this point because they work out premiums based on the amount of claims that occur with a specific model. But as they become more popular the premiums will increase
@@SaffySprocket I would guess that even with cheap insurance, the depreciation and the fact that obtaining spare parts, for anything made in China is difficult/impossible, might mean these bikes arent fantastic sellers?
