I'm from The US and I love watching these people cook and do other things. I can't believe this older lady works so hard. We have so many young people here in our country who are so lazy.
Originally come from Istanbul, Türkiye 🇹🇷, now living in Germany. Back in my childhood, mom used to cook for us this delicious meal called by us “mücver”. You could also use zucchini (adding chopped parsley, dill). While watching, I hugged this dear mom in my heart every minute ♥️. Her house looks like ours back in the 1960’s on the Bosporus in Istanbul, with the only difference that ours was at sea where you could spring from the window into the water. That lovely cat was talking to the cameraman, never miss such coincidences, cause we always had cats 🥰which were our darling friends. Ps. I have a wonderful colleague with whom I used to work with, (from Rumania) (whom I call my son Daniel), is now in Istanbul with his girlfriend for his holiday. I have brought no son into this world, but in years Daniel became actually my son ♥️). Sending much love, regards and warm hugs to you “ anacığım” (this is how we call all precious moms in Türkiye). Happy Mother’s Day ♥️
This was beautiful in so many ways... the photography, the music, the place & decor of the home, the cat... and of course the star of the show: GRANDMA! She really gives credit to Grandmas the world over!
This grandmother thanks God for everything she has in the garden. God bless all this people who value and appreciate what life give to them. Be like grandma!
Grandma your potato recipe turned out beautifully! They looked so crisp that my mouth was watering! I love how colourful and cheerful your kitchen looks. Your home and garden is so well kept. No wonder the cat looks so happy to be with you. You are lovely and I imagine your family loves and appreciates you very much. 🧡🐈🧡
This was a lovely video. The potatoes looked amazing. They were fried perfectly. Bless her heart, she is a strong woman. I wish there were subtitles. 😊❤
@@KitKatToeBeans I know it’s not the same as her recipe, but I was just looking up potato latkes or potato pancakes, they are similar if not the same, but of course not made with her love so not the same!
Love the grandma and how she demonstrates her joy in such a simple life. Just down to earth and basic. But it gives such pleasure to watch. The potatoes look so delicious.
Potato fritters! Yum! My late Mum used to often make them on washday here in rural Australia when we came home from primary school for lunch. Loved them. We would smell the aroma of them frying before we opened our gate. Watching this grandma makes me think I should make them more often.
Potatoes shredded, about 7 large garlic cloves pounded in jar with large pinch of course salt, 3 eggs (beautiful size!) looked like baking powder, or baking soda, water, flour. Looks delicious. Was I close?? Guess we will know when I try them.
You were close with that recipe, it was water about 2 T. and I figured 2t. of baking soda. that was with her 8 potatoes. "Annapeppard" gave the recipe up above and I got what I missed in the video from her.
Giulian, Your content is special and unique featuring historic cultural recipes known only to the Romanian Carpathian peasantry. As a history major that grew up on an 800 acre wheat farm, I was only instructed about Western European history. The Eastern European countries are basically unknown by the majority of people that are not from that region. Plus the Soviet collapse has made it possible to open up these regions to the rest of the world with the invention of social media. I feel like I'm rediscovering Old Europe after WW2, but this time it's an Old Eastern Europe that hasn't change much since WW2. Your beloved Romania needs to be preserved and protected from outside developers! I pray you're able to do this by sharing the simple side of Romania so it doesn't change!
My grandparents came from Romania in the late 20's. They were German Romanian 😊 a village called Klienshelken ( i don't think my spelling is right) . My grandmother used to make these but i only know them as potato pancakes 😂.. They are amazing.....I really miss her "old country" cooking lol. Please no disrespect for calling it that lol. She used to call it that lol.. Simple home cooking...❤
Delicious, beautiful video, we use vegetable peeler and vitamixer blender,.......chop potatoes about 4 russets add 1 egg some garlic 3 or 4 or more, salt if you like pepper.......process....smooth....into large bowl add slowly flour to thicken as for pancakes as little as possible , 1 tsp baking soda optional.......heat peanut oil quarter inch or so in iron pan or heavy pan.......by spoonful carefully, don't splatter if too thin, add spoonful or more flour.... fry.......delicious with sourcream......
Thanks...I was wondering if that was baking powder or soda. It seemed like she used a lot of flour though but you say not a lot. We have something similar in Judaism called a latke eaten during the holiday of Hanukkah - except without the garlic
Lovely lady I wonder how old she is? Look how pristine everything is,she puts a lot of the younger generations to shame.love her house, her village I could live there like that with her. Her food is fantastic, just goes to show what you can do with bare essentials.God bless her❤❤

Simplistic beauty,on such a rare occasion. That a simple stack or dinner is represented with such care without thought of the tremendous impact of this LOVELY Grandma would share with the world. This was awesome to watch. The big pot plant was a surprise har har, and the tiny shingles on the church roof. All that with an amazing recipe and lovely lady :)
Lovely video. Great recipe, too! Can't get enough recipes for potatoes; I always need something else to do with them other than the same old thing. I have a niece by marriage who is Romanian, born and grew up in a little village in Transylvania. I have to get her to take me there one day - it would be quite the experience. Her mom brought her to Canada at age 14, now she lives in Paris.
As a teen i made a rule for myself. Always have potatoes, onions and flour at home. Then you can always make something.
Yeah, fried taters n onions. Comforting food.😊
Smart man
I always have those on hand to plus dry beans and carrots and celery even if 8 have no meat I can always put carrots, onion and celery in my beans.
Yes if you have potato, onion, and flour you can make delicious, good food. Add a bit of salt, pepper and oil for the next level

What an enchanting house & garden. You know the house has a heart when a cat decides to take residence.
