I have to say, even though I’m left extremely disappointed with Sotsu’s execution, this is fantastic. I really wish Sotsu would have spent more time showing us her inner conflict and regrets outside of a single episode which unfortunately had the side effect of me believing she cared more about her formerly abusive uncle, rather than her actual friends.
This could all just be me not being a “true WTC fan” since I couldn’t bring myself to empathize with Satoko. I wanted to love this sequel so much, and the concept of a character drama between Rika and Satoko isn’t bad at all, but I felt the mystery and horror I loved were completely erased by the end. I’m still extremely torn up about it all.
