- Hymn - Guide Me, O Thou Great Redeemer
Organ accompaniment with words.
Tune: Cwm Rhondda by John Hughes 1873-1932
Words: William Williams 1717-1791. Translation by Peter Williams 1727-1796 and others
1. Guide me, O thou great Redeemer,
Pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but thou art mighty,
Hold me with thy powerful hand:
Bread of heaven,
Feed me till I want no more.
2. Open now the crystal fountain
Whence the healing stream doth flow;
Let the fire and cloudy pillar
Lead me all my journey through:
Strong deliverer,
Be thou still my strength and shield.
3. When I tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid my anxious fears subside;
Death of death, and hell's Destruction
Land me safe on Canaan's side:
Songs of praises
I will ever give to thee.

Princess Diana's favourite hymn. Beautifully done.
@@Schmoityface I didn’t know it was Diana’s favourite. Thank you for your kind words.

Thank you!
Awesome, powerful! 🙏🤲❤️
Where are the people to sing? There are none. It's all finished, despite the majestic hymns. I was born in Aberdare and grew up in Mountain Ash and Cardiff. All over! Convert thee thou to the Catholic Faith, as I did.
There are no people to sing on this video because I’ve recorded without choir/congregation.
But, I think I take you correctly when I assume that you’re talking about the fact that numbers are dwindling in the Church of England?
I, personally, happen to agree with you that it (the CofE) is all over (or is in the final throes before death), but, like a true and faithful servant, I’ll go down with the Church of England.
I’m very fond of the Roman Catholic Church/Faith, but the Church of England is my heritage and I think I owe it to that to stay.
I say this as someone who has considered ‘converting me to the Catholic Faith’.

I’m listening to the gymanfa ganu live from the National Eisteddfod in Pontypridd right now. The pavillion is full and they are all singing Cwm Rhondda at top value.
wow!
Thank you.
When and where was the first line of this famous hymn changed from "Jehovah" to "Redeemer"???????
I am not sure on that one.
