Older folks like gun spinning because they're reminded of the old West. Younger folks like it because of Revolver Ocelot. No matter the age or reason, gun spinning will always remain the coolest thing.
Hi Adriel, I agree.
Middle-aged dudes like gunspinning because Revolver Ocelot reminded us of the Old West. 🤣
You're pretty good
@@rhinestoneropers9204 Tornado Yoshida (the guy they mocapped for Ocelot) is the best non-American gun spinner I ever saw. Might be worth looking up a video of him.
some of us younger folk like it because red dead redemption 2 🤠🐎
I’ve started gun spinning about two years ago. My uncle was a Reenactor before he passed. Once I found his old peacemaker and hat I took up the mantle. Unfortunately it’s been rather difficult to find resources other then riflemen reruns and old movies. I am so glad to have found this channel to give me more guidance in carrying on his legacy. In those two years I’ve grown to get my own pair of matching engraved revolvers, a double rig I’ve built out of his old rig and my grandfathers old rig, then lastly I’ve learned all the foundation of spins and now growing on to more “fancy” tricks. These videos are such a great help
Good for you. If there are any tricks that you would like explained, I would be happy to, If I can.
I love how he schooled us in a chill way. Then dropped the best gun safety fyi ever. Loved this 👌
Thank you.

pretty... good
Well.....are ya goin' to draw those pistols or whistle Dixie?
Hello Josie
Still have long way to go with my two 6 inch SAA replicas. Hopefully I'll manage some tricks or at least basics before Halloween :) Huge respect from S.Korea. Stay safe and keep gunslinging.
I wish you good luck Simon. My bet is that you are looking at July rather than Halloween.
I used grandfathers old ruger super blackhawk he used to use in cowboy action shooting. Heavy son of a gun, but it spins really well and the holster and belt I made for it fit really well.
Those old Rugers are Heavy. You must have strong hands.
I didn't know I needed this tutorial so bad 'til I saw it!
Hi Macario, I'm glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching.
I’ve been spinning guns for two years and I’m fifteen now, but I have a Colt Single Action Army replica and I know how to spin it real well but I can’t spin two at once but have been practicing.
Good job Peter. As you know, you just have to get the off hand up to speed. Have fun.
Someone’s been playing tons of Red Dead lately
I loved that game.
Im gonna learn to spin guns because of this, i just got a ruger wrangler
Good Luck.
I have a 6.75 inch Heritage revolver and honestly the longer the barrel I found the heavier it is and harder it is for me to spin plus I don’t have big hands so it’s a bit difficult
Yes, they are not made for spinning but we do it anyway.
@@rhinestoneropers9204 I’ve gotta practice more. I’m thinking of getting a shorter barrel and starting off with that
Those are the newer guys but still great. When they were young they watched Tom Mix, Sunset Carson, and a host of others. I watched their old movies as reruns on early TV, along with Flash Gordon, Cisco Kid, Hoppy, Gene and Roy. My dad was a master grade shooter and as youth was Texas cowboy and ranch/ farm hand. Dead eye with pistol or rifle into 50's. Under his and later Dustinguished Experts ( one of whom wrote the 1911 .45 manual) i became one too. Safety first.
Thanks Karl.
Got a ruger wrangler back in December and haven't stopped spinning it since. I'm not particularly good yet but I'm just having so much fun
Good for you! Fun is the key.
I been practicing with my uberti, you weren't kidding about the trigger guard chewing you up. Bruising too, but its too cool to not learn.
When you get a trick down, it does feel Cool. Have fun.
You can buy a wide trigger for your Uberti from Taylors. Here is the part # Uberti Cattleman Old Model Revolver Parts 1 x U0701010 Wide Trigger.
They are $20.00
I'd really love to get into this. Based on what I've seen so far, you seem like a wholesome and knowledgeable guy and I hope I can find this tutorial again if I start!
Good Luck
Well done! This comment is from a retired instructor in another field, but I recognize and appreciate skill and capabilities! Best of luck!

Classic southern passtime of revolver spinning.
Theese are so good and educational i have a vintage colt 4.5 and i like theese cause my great great grandfather was a 1920s outlaw
I subscribed bc you’re a beast I don’t think people understand how hard it is to actually get as good as you are it’s work much respect my guy
Thank you BNE. You are right it takes time and focus. As you know, the dilemma of the performer is that, if you do it well, it looks effortless.

Ive got a little 22 single action, was pretty fun learning how to spin and holster it (Even if I did chuck it into my foot a couple times)
Hi Wander, I started with a Ruger 22 also. I don't remember it as being fun to practice with though. If you are like me, you have quick hands and even quicker feet.
Same here. Got a ruger wrangler and have been practicing with it for a while, it's been really fun
Great content!! 🤠

Excellent video and have watched a few times now. Practicing on a 5” dummy model and broke skin a few times now so onto gloves until I get the Ruger with a smooth trigger.

Excelent ! Congratulation !

Way to make it look easy buddy!
Thank you Brandon.
Just... WOW!!
Thanks Jesse.
I started doing as a kid with a Co2 BB revolver that was a copy of the Colt Python. Then I got myself a Reck 8560 22lr single action revolver. It's essentially a Heritage Rough Rider 22 revolver, but this one is older, imported into the US in 1969 from West Germany. Hell, I spin my Glocks too. I never spin loaded guns though. The hardest part for me is spinning it forward because my fingers get in the way. I usually go a half forward spin, into the fingers to reverse direction to a rear spin. Then a full forward spin and cock the hammer as the gun comes to rest aimed forward. It's fun to do.
Man you really know how to pull those smoke wagons !!!!!!!!
Thanks Thomas.
Good day sir. I just got my replicas and started spinning with your instructions. Great tutorial videos. Within a few minutes I was spinning both, front and back. One quick question: I was viewing your video "how to spin guns" and really love the shirt you're wearing, can you please tell me what type of shirt it is and where a fellow might be able to get one of those.
thanks
Hi Jean-Sebastian, Congratulations on your quick success. I'm glad you liked the video and the shirt. My Mother and I made the shirt. Sorry, there is no place to buy one. I bought three Wrangler shirts and cut two of them up to make the bib.
I remember a while ago this was my first gun spinning video I watched at that time I had a really cheap 51 Navy toy and now I have a Colt single action army replica
How does it spin?
I think the old west cowboys started to spin their Colts when they got bored during cattle drives. I personally think it’s reallly fun to watch someone spin their Colts if they are exceptionally fast. I think the key is start slow and perfect the spin and then gradually increase the speed slowly. It’ll take at least 6 months or longer to really good at it.
I got a Colt SAA Replica (Co2) and i'm super overprotective. Bought a second one (got one with a blue finish, the other with a antique finish) and i can't imagine spinning is a good idea, considering how heavy they are. Think i will watch this video again and try it out. Thank you for that video.
Yes they are heavy. Just find a place with soft ground because you have to be willing to drop them if you are going to learn.
Thank you now I can try to spin my 1985 Remington revolver
Good luck.
@@rhinestoneropers9204 thank you I’m still practicing but I’m getting better
I’m obsessed, also we’re did you get your blue shirt in this vid?
Hi Penguin, I'm glad you noticed the shirt. I made it. I bought three Wrangler shirts and tore two apart to make the bib.
master race
After seeing Hell on Wheels, and then watching John Dorie in Fear the walking dead Ive become much more interested in gunslinging and duelists, JD in fear the walking dead was such a satisfying character and the antique army colts tied it up so well
I'll have to watch that.
Glad you did a shout out to Gene Autry. He is my favorite western actor or at least in top 3. Randolph Scott is up there also.
Yes, Randolph had a great look.
My dad couldn't stand, Randolph Scott, called him a pouffe cowboy ( effeminate.) because his clothes and hair were always immaculately clean pressed after a hard fight rolling in the dust and beer, he would always emerge clothes in place and clean, hair combed and shiny.
@@biggusdickus5986 ; yes I get that. My dad told me he was very rich from oil.
I wanted to learn this because of the Devil May Cry game series, they always make it look so cool
Go for it!
Thanks. I'm wanting to learn so I'd have a side hustle if I'm ever able to retire and move back home. I got viking hands, so it'll be rough starting. Big palms, short fingers.
You are welcome. Let me know how it goes.
@@rhinestoneropers9204 thanks
I spin an old Vaquero. It's like a batter swinging warm-ups in the on-deck circle with a donut on his bat. When I switch to a new Vaquero, it feels like i'm spinning nothing. Just my own method though. Great channel and wish I'd found it earlier.
Sounds like a great idea.
“You’re pretty good “
Thank you.
the tricks are gold just awesome but the cloth ohhh lord
HI Ken, Thanks for watching.
I've played with a replica 1851 navy since i was 16 and now I'm 58 and I'm so comfortable never played with it loaded. I would love to see how you do it with 51 Navy's, thanks.
HI Paul, I've never tried one. How does it work for you?
How much or long do you practice? I am just learning and like to wear my riig as much as possible to get the weight and fell of them . Is thaa good idea ?
HI John, When I decided to get good, I practiced for an hour, 4 days a week. Now I hit it once or twice a week for as long as my hands last. It's good to practice a variety of tricks. That way when your hands get tired, you can move on to a different trick and use different muscles.
The important thing is to wear them exactly the same way every time you perform and practice. If your belt is not on the same notch or if the belt is off to one side or if it is lower or higher, it can affect whether you can spin the guns back into the holster. If wearing your rig will help you discover the best position to wear it for performance, then it is good to wear it a lot. If you can't wear it for an extended period in the same way you do for performance then you are not gaining much.
Another reason that wearing it is good, is that short, frequent practices are good. If you are wearing the rig it will be easy to draw a gun and give it a spin or toss for just a few minutes then put it away and go back to what you were doing. Short practices allow you to actually practice more without fatigue. Practicing with fatigued muscles can promote bad habits. Although sometimes it's necessary.
Let me know how it's going.
Dan
I practiced my spinning by spinning scissors first. Maybe i just have a natural talent for spinning, but i started off spinning scissors way back in grade school, and i suppose that helped a bit.
@rhinestoneropers9204 . Have been wearing my rig around the place and it has really helped . It is a lot .more comfortable and is more natural. Like you suggested I can draw and spin for a few minutes then carry on and do it again. Thanks for the advice . I am working on spinningI it back into the holster.
You're pretty good!
Thanks!
I’m cosplaying Jesper fahey from six of crows for the Ren fair and halloween so I need to learn how to spin revolvers tysm for this
Also what revolvers were you using for this video
How did the fair go? I'm spinning Ruger New Vaqueros.
Também faço 😅😊tem alguns movimentos que tem que praticar mais
I think 5 1/2" bbls offer the best balance.
Nice
Thanks

Hey! When I spin the revolver, my fingers begin to bend and press against the outside of the hand. At first I didn't pay attention to this, but then I noticed that almost everyone is spinning the revolver with extended and straight fingers. Is flexion of the fingers normal, or should this habit be removed? P.S Sorry for my bad English
I know of only one very good gun spinner, a female, who spins with bent fingers. She also spins with her middle finger and not her index finger. I spin with straight fingers and I believe most good spinners also spin straight. Especially if you are new to spinning, I would advise straightening your fingers. I does take some getting used to and requires that you build strength in those muscles.
This is just entertainment so there are no rules. Whatever works best for you is your style. You might even find that you can use bent fingers for some tricks and straight for others. I am interested in hearing about your journey in changing your style. Making changes can be difficult. Please let me know how it goes and what decisions you come up with.
Dan
@@rhinestoneropers9204 Thanks for the advice ! I would like to ask one more question about the revolver itself.which revolver is considered the most comfortable for begginers ? I am using the Nagant Revolver, in a month I plan to buy a replica colt peacemaker ,because everyone is using it. Is it suitable for a beginner?
Some people is going to cry about u not checking your gun's first I say you know what you're doing piss on them great veido I enjoyed it but I'll never be as good as you that's for sure keep up the good work
Thanks Dave.
Damn you're pretty good!

Just got done watching another Clint Eaatwood movie, and was inspired to hop on UA-cam and find a gun spinning tutorial movie. I have always wanted to do this. Clearly when you are first starting, the gun is gonna be getting dropped all over the place. Any suggestions on how to get started without damaging your gun, your flooring, etc? Maybe a really thick rug? :)
HI Captain, Great question! Even on a think rug, the gun seems to hit hard. Over the bed is good only for small tricks. The gun will tumble into the wall and headboard, or back into your knees. If you put the mattress on the floor, the gun will use it as a spring board to launch across the room.
The most vulnerable part of the gun is the grips. They will break very easily. So if you have purchased fancy grips, practice with the old ones. Sometimes broken grips can be epoxied back together and will last a while longer.
The 3rd best place to practice is outdoors on the grass, with the ground a little moist. This will still fill your barrel with mud, but your gun will not get hurt.
The 2nd best place is over grass with a thin carpet over the grass. This makes footing a slight problem but it is great for the gun.
The best place is next to the hay stack where the ground is covered with a few inches of old hay. This is very cushioned and will not be hard to move your feet on. I think that a heavy layer of grass clippings would work also.
I spin rugers and although I've broken a lot of grips, I've never actually damaged a gun, maybe scratched it up some. Obviously, I have spent time spinning indoors but it's my least favorite place. Outdoors in the winter is no picnic but I'd rather fight the cold than hear my precious pistols hit the floor, or the ceiling.
Thanks for the question.
Have fun.
@@rhinestoneropers9204 boy, sounds like a messy business no matter how you slice it! How would an EVA foam mat hold up? One of those heavy duty ones that people put in their garages?
Ich verwende styro phor Platten kosten sehr wenig und schützen perfekt die Waffe .
Put an ear plug in the barrel to keep the mud out. JUST REMEMBER TO REMOVE IT ON REAL GUNS!@@rhinestoneropers9204 I have bad hearing to the extra wind and music makes a tutorial difficult to hear the instruction.
Not sure if you said it and I missed it, but did you injure your right finger spinning somehow?
Hi Dane, No I injured my middle finger when a horse was messing with me. Now it takes concentration to keep it out of the way when spinning.
i've done spinning with toy revolvers so much with my right had i genuienly cant do it with my left
My left hand used to be useless also. Now it is more reliable than my right for some tricks but it took a lot of practice.
@@rhinestoneropers9204i didn’t get notified but thanks for the answer. I’ll keep practicing!
hey question @Daniel Mink is it possible for me to do tricks with a 357 python revovler?
I've never held one, but I hear that they are pretty heavy. I bet that you can. Your fingers might get tired more quickly. Let me know how it goes.
i made a cowboy costume for halloween this year, now that i saw yours i feel so ashamed. 🤣
Hi Pyro, I'm glad you liked the shirt. It's actually one shirt and pieces of two other shirts, plus a lot of planning and sewing and many buttons. I would not have gone to the trouble for a Halloween costume. So don't feel bad.
@@rhinestoneropers9204 amazing tricks though sir.
Hello Ruger. I would like to order 6 extra sets of Bixby grips please. Lol. Thanks for the video.
Good idea!
Make sure not to do this with anything but a single action, at least as long as you enjoy living
You Bet!
i do this with a really stiff double action and haven’t shot anything out yet 😂
@@L1nus16 yet? 😳
Re watching how do u do that side ways spin I tried and gun well gravity fooked me lmao
Yes, gravity makes it a challenge. You have to give it a lift as you release it.
Any reccomendations on replicas to start practicing on? I am too nervous about dropping my old model Vaquero. Lol
Western Stage props has some replicas to choose from.
No way they added the sharpshooter to real life 😱😱😱
I can't do a front spin to save my life. If I try to keep my non trigger fingers straight, the gun flies off. If I try to increase the crook in my knuckle to hold the gun on, it draws my other fingers back in or slams the inside of my hand near the pinky. Can't seem to get the momentum to keep it going. I can reverse spin all day, but I feel like the front spin adds a lot to the presentation. Thinking about at what point do you accept the limitations of your hands and work around it, or to just keep practicing. This makes these videos even more impressive because this stuff ain't easy, but it looks like second nature to him. And practicing can definitely be painful.
Yes practicing gun spinning is painful and sometimes bloody. You might look at my video called Hand Prep. I would advise not accepting limitations while practicing. When it's time to perform, then you work around and accept limitations.
Good Luck
I worked out a front spin with my middle finger and will continue to practice thanks for the tip. And yes, I'm using your hand prep techniques but my injuries have been more around my head, shoulder and especially feet. Not a good idea to practice in sandals or bare feet lol. @@rhinestoneropers9204
But does this spin do with the pistol full bullets or empty?
Because put the finger on trigger and spin it, it is very dangerous.
These guns will not shoot unless the hammer is back. But still, I would never spin a loaded gun.
You're pretty good
Appreciate it
How much do those guns weight, they look so light when you spin and toss them.
Hi Dandy, I will take that as a complement. Thank you. They are two pounds each. They are heavy enough to tire your hand quickly. And heavy enough that you don't want to drop them on your foot.
@@rhinestoneropers9204 Thank you for the reply, the complement was fully intended.
I sure hope this works with my 1911
How is it going?
I would like to learn about the movie tombstone where is with Watt eap
How many times did you drop one when you was learning
Too many to count. I still drop when I'm distracted or when I'm practicing something difficult.
Steps to begin learning???
I tried doing this with my two Colt SAA's 5 1/2 in barrels over the bed so if I drop them it won't hurt them for it's a soft landing but I didn't practice enough to get good at it for I guess it's kind of impractical for me to do and I don't want to keep it up over hard surfaces to potentially damage my valuable Colts !!!
I agree.
Can you spin a 7.5 barrel ? Is it me or is it almost hard on the finger
Yes they can be spun. They are very smooth for over the shoulder tosses. I think all this stuff is hard on the fingers. They are heavier.
Im because i love red dead redemption 2 but this looks 🔥
Your pretty good
Thanks
Looking into getting a replica Colt 45 but it is impossible to decipher the laws in NYS, I've read a lot of literature and can't get it straight if owning a replica is even legal.
