I just purchased a 2016 Odyssey! It’s a bit on the high mileage side at 113k BUT it was extremely well taken care of. The only problem is the front door armrests. I guess the only previous owner liked to ride around in hunkered down gangsta mode. I’ll be fixing those this weekend. Just figured I’d throw in a good word for the 2016 Honda Odyssey, still going strong in 2022!
We didn’t buy it. Hopefully this info will be helpful for others considering a used Odyssey. Just sitting in the driver’s seat, I immediately knew I was not comfortable with the rear visibility. The elevated second row (theater seating), along with tall headrests and tiny rear windows were just a poor combination. Visibility when doing things like changing lanes would be 110% dependent on rear view mirrors. And, yes, I’ve driven other larger vehicles or minivans. I was selling a 3rd row SUV and we also own an older minivan we will be selling soon. (Maybe nobody would question that here, but that was the line of questioning I got from the dealer we didn’t purchase the van from that day.) In the end, we purchased a Subaru Outback to replace my previous vehicle.
@@heatheranderson739 we are getting a Kia carnival, much better reviews and technology. I was looking forward to an odyssey, then I looked at reliability issues and comfort, trims and everything, which was the big downside about the odyssey. it is just a total shame that Honda, where it’s reputation is based off reliability, just is torn down by “VCM” and the transmission clunking like a Nissan. Then we went to find a sienna, we wanted a hybrid but it was also having issues. So I looked for a 3rd gen (2019-2020) sienna, I found one but they were missing lots of features (360 view, rear entertainment, etc) then I bought a magazine about what’s car is worth it and tells you about everything. I found Kia carnival there, and man it’s like a VIP minivan. I looked up reliability issues, nothing popped for us. So we are looking for it, as my whole family is in love with it (my father, mother, brother, etc.)
Just stole a 2016 Honda Odyssey SE and I can say that this is an excellent van. I love the acceleration, ease of merging and low profile. No one noticed when I drove it down the raod as I was stealing it. I think I could flip it for maybe $2,000 to $3000 in the Hood. Wish me luck.
Question. I just bought this van last week. With only 550 miles on it, I notice that it downshifts hard between 35 and 40 mph as well as between 25 and 20 mph. This is really noticeable in stop and go rush hour traffic. This is quite annoying when trying to coast without braking or using the accelerator as It noticeably jumps at those two mph points I mentioned above. Did you notice anything like this with your Odyssey SE?
