Thanks for the video. I've always struggled with overheads more than almost any other shot. I will try to practice with your tips in mind.

Thanks, Ashley! I had never thought of it as a “unit turn” as far as getting sideways. Good way to think of it.

Is the overhead technique comparable to the serve motion?

Yes, pretty similar racquet work, just obviously different footwork

Great video. On a good lob, I have trouble deciding whether to hit it as an overhead or chase it down on the bounce.

It can be tough… improve your overhead and in turn you’ll be more confident to hit it out of the air so there’ll be less need to let it bounce!!

There is only one golden rule: NEVER let the opportunity go to hit a tweener!

What about using your dominant hand to prepare the racket early? does it help?

I have a suggestion for a video. How far back to stand when returning serve? So I have experienced quite a lot of joy standing up to a fast serve to play the ball on the rise. It feels that i hit a better shot gthan standing back. When is it a good idea not to do this? For very big serves?

@@TheTennisMentor the overhead shot looks so easy, and everybody including me gets excited as if we got a point offered in a golden plate....but it's not....this lesson will help everyone for sure...good job and thanks heaps..
