Good video. Greetings from Victoria Plum 180, a little further up the coast in Lyme Bay. I fitted the same tiller clutch at the beginning of last season (having recovered from the price) it is great. Like you I found the line angle poor so added two new bulls eyes further to the stern and raised on the sides, works excellently. Keep posting the videos
Thanks for the helpful video (which I came back to the other day). On your recommendation, I ordered & have just received the Wavefront tiller clutch. Looking forward to using it.
@@Morningvicar Indeed. I probably won't be getting up again for quite a while. On the plus side (as you said) it's much heavier/more substantial than I expected & seems pretty robust. So let's hope it proves its worth...
Another lovely video - thanks! I've just fitted a Huntingford helm impeder on my 21' Kite. Not tried it in anger yet, but it is looking promising. It even has infinitely adjustable tension, from locked up solid to completely free - and everything in between.
They are great, I had one on a swallow boat a while back and was very happy with it. I did measure one up for the Shrimper, but with the tiller having to get over the outboard cowling, I couldn’t get the right clearance and adjustment access, which is why I’ve ended up with the tiller clutch.
@@Morningvicar Ah, I did wonder if clearance over your outboard might make a Huntingford impeder difficult to fit. Glad your experience of it on the Swallow was positive though.
Thank you for this video. I first found strange that the tide could go "the wrong way". But I then remembered that, in Brittany, we have the same type of thing where the current is very strong : boats without an engine sails very near from the banks where there is a "contre-courant" (backward flow ?).🙂
I have been using the tiller clutch on my Sun2000 for 5 years now. A great tool, I don't want to be without it anymore. Nice video👍
Thanks for watching
Lovely video, glad I have found your channel
Welcome aboard! Thanks for watching

Glad it was helpful! Are you now having a lie down after seeing the price?

Great little video, the tiller clutch thing !! Please keep us updated I haven't spent any of my hard earned money yet........🤔😆😆😣😎
Will do!
I always jam a spare PFD under the tiller... The tiller clutch looks nice, but I noticed chaffing on the white line already.
😊 I’ll let you know how it goes
lovely place to sail
It really is!
that tiller tamer is expensive
Yes. Not cheap
Owning a boat satisfies the fiddling-need of men......
Indeed 😊
