I’m an American here. The rouge is one of the things that make the cfl unique but there are times, like this game, where I would know how I would feel if we missed the game winning kick but it went out of the end zone for a single so it doesn’t matter
I know it feels kinda off, but if the kick was from 10 yards further back and didn't go out the back of the end zone it would have been a very exciting, classic ending. Take the good with the blah.
Thats the rules. I know he missed the field goal but got it through the end zone. So technically still scored a point. Had he been short they would have ran the ball out of the end zone and the game would have been tied.
The way he kicked that ball was based on a miss that goes out the back of the endzone winning the game. No way he puts as much behind that kick as he did if the miss didn't get the same outcome as making the field goal.
Nobody in the West is over .500! The early front runners are sagging, and the slow starters are now on a roll. Calgary seems to be the only consistent team, but consistently mediocre.

Completely agree if the returner don't have a option to return the ball then there should be no rouge. I felt like Saskatchewan was making mistakes by making short punts for field position especially with a dangerous returner like Jannarion Grant(my guy from Rutgers! Im from NJ) why not blast the punts and get the rouge. Im new to the CFL but i think getting a few of those 1 pointers is more beneficial then playing field position at times. I've been big into CFL since 2010 and I very much agree. The punters and special teams coaches beat themselves up about coffin corner kicks that go into the end zone, but I think they add up and often change the dynamics later in the game (for instance a 4 point lead instead of 3. 9 instead of 8). Part of why that's more prevalent is last year the trade for the single point became the 40 instead of the 35 yard line. Now at the end of a half and end of a game, there are very different implications of the single that teams need to be aware of, which I also like. Similarly interesting, when I started watching the CFL, teams were WAY more likely to concede safeties rather than punt out of their own end zone even in the FIRST HALF. You hardly see that anymore (good, it was stupid), but it was a thing!

Yet another example of horrific officiating. Missed calls on both sides. Sask's d-line was held on nearly every passing play but not a single call. Milligan got his eye poked out and nobody saw it apparently. Some pretty obvious PIs that weren't called for Tor as well.

@LeeHardingTV I looked at this way. Mace doesn't have the balls to put Patterson in for a few plays and throw off the defense. After Harris got stuck and off his game, Patterson should have come in for a few plays relieved Harris and given Harris a chance to read the defense from the sidelines. After all it was Patterson who beat the Argos first meeting.
@patrickols look at it this way the lose is on the offense of the Riders. Harris came our strong and played a good half game. Defense was great for the Riders at the goal line. Still allowing at times six seconds to throw the ball and letting Kelly out of the pocket for more time is on defense.
Could the Riders special teams crew have set it up where there’s someone at the back wall to jump and tip the ball to Alford who’s in bounds so he can kick it out the endzone?

Kadeem Carey was in (4:24). Look at the replay. He broke the plane and his knees hadn't touched the ground yet.
He was on top of a defender who was holding him in place. This counts as down by contact; forward movement was stopped.
The elbow of the arm that doesn't have the ball was down. It's not only the knees that count

I have no skin in this game, but that snap didn’t happen for the last kick. Zero showed on the game clock before it was snapped.
