This is my first video of yours that I've watched. Great Job man. (Btw, that is by far the sexiest car, AND the sexiest garage I've ever seen. Im envious of you) Keep up the good work! Subscribed
Great videos Matt... I've just recently watched your maintenance details on the F80 and loved them! Starting on the GT3 videos now. Here in the UK we have various detailing websites that sell Wolfs products and I've purchased some Glass and Trim products you recommended, should arrive in the post soon. Great videos keep making more! Also love both cars and your garage set up.
i love watching these videos, every time i get a new car or products i watch your videos haha wish you were in California, would hang out every weekend and just talk cars
matt with the spray youre using,if its fallout remover or detail spray, drying aid etc , ive moved to a compression sprayer, saves your finger pumping away, much easier and quicker
Matt Moreman Matt, despite you mentioning about how terrible the spray piece is for auto finesse along with other reviewers on autogeek agreeing, is there any reason why you choose it over carpro iron x? does it perform better or is it just someting you're "stuck with" and trying to finish?
Great video Matt, keep up the good work. I've just ordered a load of detailing goodies and a machine polisher, thanks to your videos. it's hard to get Adams products here in Northern Ireland, but I've found a European outlet :).
Do you have a link to this ? I'm thinking of changing to Adams car shampoo. It seems to be way more suds than chemical guys shampoo or is that just because you use a lot in the bucket Matt ?
Enjoyed the video. I experienced the same thing with the Microfiber Madness Dry Me Crazy. I found that if you get it just lightly damp, with distilled water, or detail spray, it then becomes super absorbent. I have other high GSM towels, and kind of stumbled upon this when I used one that wasn't completely air dried after washing in the machine. I think you'll like the towel much better after using it this way. I was also curious if you have tried the SM Arnold speedy prep towel? I've used, traditional clay, the sponges, and the discs on my Rupes. The SM is much more durable and requires no pressure at all. It's also big enough to fold into quarters, and cleans up easily with warm water. I've used the same wash pads you have as well, I've found the Microfiber Madness Incredimitt to be far more durable, but most of all it releases dirt so much better in the rinse bucket, my soap bucket never has any dirt in it when I'm done. I haven't watched the other two videos yet to see what wax you used, but I also think you would really like Victoria Concours Red Wax. It would look great on your blue paint, and it's not overly expensive. I look forward to watching the other two videos in this series.
Great videos, one question..if you don't have a big leaf blower to dry your car, what is the best way to dry your car? I've heard the leather chammy cloths are bad!
Same problem, too many products where's where! Excellent video exactly what I was looking for!! Be planning to foam/wash to strip all wax & sealant away. As I detailing my niece's car next week (not detailing since she got it 4 years ago new) & want to strip it totally clean from everything. You answer a question as I been thinking of adding APC to increase its cleaning power but of cause still safe for the paint. Also I need to do my car in the summer. Just been doing this 6 months now, the amount of products is quite crazy, at least a delivery per week. The foam cannon is fine if I add more stronger products? Worry it might damage the internal parts of the cannon! Great if you can answer this as I would just add some APC to the shampoo for removing any wax etc. Did I get a mention for recommendation the Gyeon View?! Around 35 minutes mark, If so many thanks ha ha.
Another great video, I still need to watch part 2 and 3. when you go the trip with the gt3 will you be using any kind of waterless washes etc ? Or just let it get real dirty. Also how much Adams shampoo do you use for your regular wash ? I'm thinking of changing from chemical guys as Adams looks way more sudsy ? The wolf's glass guard looks great, very durable, still not got around to trying mine out yet. I've just been using rain x up until now.
mark caughey I bought some Adam's Rinseless Wash and Waterless Wash to use if the car doesn't get too nasty. The problem is that we will be in love bug season. I'll need to get them off the car. I probably use about 3 oz. per wash (1 oz. in the bucket and 2 oz.).
Matt, what is your go to leather cleaner / conditioner? I've used the Sonax Leather Foam and don't find it that good, but perhaps I didn't follow the appropriate technique.
Great video once again! Matt have you tried Nanoskins clay mitts? Yesterday I tried my new Flexipads Clay mitt (fine grade), but it was really bad, maybe because it is half the price compared to Nanoskins clay mitts..
Nice! I have been scheming on building a house soon, I'm very interested in exposed poured concrete, brilliant construction technique if you are into ultra modern. Just can't like stucco or drywall... Pretty incredible how much you can save when you go minimalist as a design style.
Hey Matt, I have an F82 with steel brakes and cleaning the wheels is driving me crazy! I'm Currently using Meguiars "Hot Rims Wheel Cleaner" do you have any advice for me? thanks
Hey Matt, great video I just had a question I was checking out the gyeon coating you were talking about but where did you order it from? I need a high quality glass coating.
+Matt Moreman: have you decided on a good polishing MF towel? Drying towel? Maybe in FL rinseless wash is not needed but in the northern states where outdoor hose bibs have to be shutoff, any recs for rinseless wash towels?
This guys all about the dollar figures! I can appreciate that, as a young hustler! However as a detailer, and an investor.... I know guys that wipe their ass will 100K, lmao! On top of that their cars look like garbage! Glad to see someone with money actually cares about their car as much as I do!
DonDomel You aren't allowed drains in the floor of a garage in FL. My floor is sloped toward the outside and there are channels in the tile that allow water to run out.
what do you mean, you aren't allowed ? this is your home, your ground, your garage, your territory. Who can check that you drain your car if the doors are closed ? It's a matter of own honesty and rules ?
hi matt i am from saudi arabia great detailing video i am trying to follow all your detailing steps, but way you don't try ceramic pro or cquartz for coating ?
Mohanned Alyousef Thank Mohanned. I've used many coatings before. I just don't like the look. I prefer the depth and shine that a wax gives you over a coating.
Dude, I hear you about eating.... Fuck, food tastes good.. And buying sweet toys and researching the fuck out of it is just as fun! Moderation my ass.....
Exoticars19 On this video it's a Sennheiser wireless system. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1084912-REG/sennheiser_ew_112_pro_g3_a_ew112_pro_g3_lav_system.html
Matt Moreman Ha ha ha, it probably will! But I don't want to make a new dream car I want to get, to expensive. Just got out of my studies 2 years ago and I can barely afford a M4. But maybe I can find a used GT3 though!
Another great detailing video matt. btw were you talking about this when you referring to wolf's chemical product that you apply on your window? wisdomdetail.ca/Wolfs_Chemicals_WP-0NT_Nano_Paint_Sealant_150m
to be honest, and i do enjoy watching your videos matt, but they are a little bit on the log side. maybe 25 mins a vid is about right, its just from my point of view and the risk you run in making them, is, people havint got time to watch them with theyre lives etc, jobs, childcare, etc etc. great vids tho, but maybe smaller
Nice video, about 5 minutes of useful content though. You could edit it down and make it more useful and time efficient for viewers. You even mention in the video how you personally lose interest in video series then produce three hour long ones, LOL!
Ok, you're an even bigger psycho than I am. You need to look into menzerna products. German product for german clearcoats. Why do I use that? Because they use it at the factory (yes, even porsche have defects they have to remove at the factory). You're only going to need the swirl remover. After the clear is perfected, zaino brothers polish. They also sell a good clay. However, there's nothing like the polish. It's a polymer sealer that adds a deep shine and protects your paint. It lasts longer than anything I've ever seen. Detailers wont use it for two reasons. 1. You have to mix the drying agent in yourself and it's just not cost effective for them. 2. It lasts a long, long time; and professional detailers want to hit you for an exterior polish and wax as often as they can. On top of the zaino I use zymol concours that adds that wet glossy look and makes it pop. In 20 years of owning porsche and BMW, these are the best results I've produced. Your car glows and glistens. Before someone comes at me, I worked in a high end shop through college, and a family member runs a high end detail shop. So, spare me. Once a month or every few washes just add another coat or two of zymol. Once a year I strip it, clay it, etc. Remove any wash marks or imperfections in the clear w/ menzerna. Apply 3 coats of zaino like whacko, then zymol. Edit: Just buy a little air compressor w/ an air chuck to blow off your car.
+Agent Red On Zymol, I would recommend at the very least their concours wax. Avoid the cheaper ones (i.e., carbone) that have less carnauba content. Also, very important, ignore the directions they give which tell you to melt the wax in your hands and to apply it w/ your bare hands. Simply use a microfiber applicator. I keep mine refrigerated and when I'm ready to use it I hit it w/ a heat gun for a couple of seconds to slightly melt it. Do not apply in circles, gently apply it w/ very light pressure in straight overlapping lines and use it very, VERY sparingly. Apply it in sections, Do 2 or 3 panels, allow it to flash for a few minutes, then take it off and move on. There are other estate paste waxes out there pushed by auto geek and others. Tried them all, they are all copies of zymol in both composition and marketing. Zymol is still the best by far, imo. With a 911 and M3 one can has lasted me years. It retails for 120.00 or so, but if you have an account you can get it for 60.00.
I couldn't figure out why someone would post an hour long video about detailing a car. About 15 minutes into your video I said wow this guy needs that much time just to fit his ego in it. BTW I'm so impressed you can afford a $500 water hose. Money isn't everything, and believe me you are nowhere near a UA-cam sensation. However I can appreciate the fact that you care for your cars the way that you do. Keep your ego in check, its disgusting.
+Corey Davis You obviously don't get the point of this stuff, so maybe just don't watch. This has very little to do with me. I'm sharing what I know. That's it.
+Matt Moreman I actually do paint work for a living, so I know exactly what your talking about in every aspect. If I have to weed through a few, what I see to be bragging, sections to possibly learn something then that's what I'll do. I enjoyed all of the info in the vide, I like to see what products other people use. Like said I respect the fact you are so meticulous with car care. You don't seem like such a douche in your other videos lol
+Corey Davis To me, the price of things a simple matter of fact. My hose and reel combo costs $500. I chose to spend the money. I get guys like you telling me how stuck up and arrogant I am. I wonder if you're judging me from the start and reading into what I'm saying a bit too much.
+Corey Davis These videos are therapeutic for many of us. The fact that he has all the best stuff does not have to be negative, he clearly is very passionate about this so getting the best stuff makes sense, the thing I find disgusting is how you feel so threatened by all his cool stuff you felt the need to call him out on having a huge ego. People like you will never truly understand the point of these videos.
+flatblackbm I'm not threatened at all by the fact he has all of the best equipment and products. That's every man's dream to be able to do so. The fact that he was boasting about how much this and that cost "And oh by the way I have four of these polishers and they cost $450 a piece" (with a smirk) that's an ego I don't care how you slice it. Why not just say "Yea these are not the cheapest but I didn't want to settle for anything less than the very best". Now if he had asked how much all that stuff had cost it would be different. But like I said this is the only video that he really seemed like a egotistical prick. I'm sure if I were to meet him in person we'd talk for hours about detailing and get along fine. I do enjoy the videos as well so I hope he continues to put them out.
Hey Matt, you mentioned the clear film protection. I am not completely sold on it either and I live in Michigan, where it would be a benefit for sure. Check out this video of a company that does it in the UK, its pretty impressive. ua-cam.com/video/QVH5ez_FHTc/v-deo.html
I get this a lot. Some people are offended by me stating what some costs. I prefer in any decision making process to know the price of a product. That way I can determine if I want to spend my money on it or not.
There's nothing wrong with talking about the price of products. If you're interested, it actually saves you the time of having to research whether it fits in your budget or not. The tone of your comment implies that you find the prices not within your budget, which is your thing. Trying to make Matt come off as if he's showboating isn't relevant at all in my opinion.
Don't let anyone tell you your videos are boring Matt , most of us enjoy them very well
I like when you said " I grew up on wax " LOL.
Thanks for the video
Matt ! !
24:21 the commencement of scratches in the clear coat 😮. Nonetheless - great footage of an early start dream come true for you Matt 👍
Hey Matt, I just got my adam's wash pads this past week tried it out yesterday very impressed!! Thanks for all the info keep it coming.
sh gully Cool man. It's nothing special but works very well.

One more thing, at the beginning of the video...What brand shelving units are those red shelves? They look sharp!

woncho1 Yep! Thanks for the tip. I'll be testing it out this weekend.
You have a fan above the storage in the corner. I was wondering why wont you use it for drying the car, it looks powerful
+BlueRattleSnake3 They are pretty legit fans, but not powerful enough to dry the whole car.
Another great video, I still need to watch part 2 and 3.

***** I use Leather Masters stuff. I'm going to make a video today.
Thanks Matt.

I saw that too
Great video once again! Matt have you tried Nanoskins clay mitts? Yesterday I tried my new Flexipads Clay mitt (fine grade), but it was really bad, maybe because it is half the price compared to Nanoskins clay mitts..
Jonatan Pihlström I have one, but I don't like it. I prefer the DA pad and little sponge block.
You should get a hinged awning, or roller, so you never run out of shade... great videos, nice car
Michael s I have some big plans my friend. I'm planning to either get a new house or build a massive garage addition with a porte cochere.
Nice! I have been scheming on building a house soon, I'm very interested in exposed poured concrete, brilliant construction technique if you are into ultra modern. Just can't like stucco or drywall... Pretty incredible how much you can save when you go minimalist as a design style.
Michael s You and me both man. I love that look. That's what I wanted in the garage. I was stupid and let the guy talk me out of it. Lesson learned.
Do you wash both of your cars on a weekly basis? How many hours a week. Your name of obsessed garage seems to be a understatement ha
+JBeer///M I would say I average a wash of each car every other week, 4-6 a month. I'm not quite as crazy as it appears. Ha, ha...
Hey Matt, I have an F82 with steel brakes and cleaning the wheels is driving me crazy! I'm Currently using Meguiars "Hot Rims Wheel Cleaner" do you have any advice for me? thanks
+Powaup I use 1Z Einszett ColourTech Wheel Cleaner.
Hey Matt, great video I just had a question I was checking out the gyeon coating you were talking about but where did you order it from? I need a high quality glass coating.
This is Adam esotericcarcare.com/
+Matt Moreman: have you decided on a good polishing MF towel?
Drying towel?
Maybe in FL rinseless wash is not needed but in the northern states where outdoor hose bibs have to be shutoff, any recs for rinseless wash towels?
Hi Matt great videos! What did you use in the foamer to strip wax? Chemical guys? Thanks
Christopher Peterson Chemical Guys Citrus Red and Adam's APC.
This guys all about the dollar figures! I can appreciate that, as a young hustler! However as a detailer, and an investor.... I know guys that wipe their ass will 100K, lmao! On top of that their cars look like garbage! Glad to see someone with money actually cares about their car as much as I do!
What brand of sponges are you using? Those look pretty nice.

How does this floor act after rain ? Do you have any holes to get the water out of the garage or you do not park your cars after or during rain ??
DonDomel You aren't allowed drains in the floor of a garage in FL. My floor is sloped toward the outside and there are channels in the tile that allow water to run out.
what do you mean, you aren't allowed ? this is your home, your ground, your garage, your territory. Who can check that you drain your car if the doors are closed ? It's a matter of own honesty and rules ?

In this video, I'm only removing maybe a few mils.
I can't find the citrus red wash on the chemical guys website. Do you know if they still carry that soap anymore?

Killer garage! Of course the car is bad to the bone as well.
Did you get both cars new or used? If so, wow, that's quite expensive, eh. :) Just the GT3 is like ~ 135k.
TheMidnightNarwhal No, I bought them new.
Matt Moreman Nice. I'm a BMW fanboy so must say I like that M3 more than the GT3! :)
TheMidnightNarwhal You need to get behind the wheel of one. It will change your mind.
Matt Moreman Ha ha ha, it probably will! But I don't want to make a new dream car I want to get, to expensive. Just got out of my studies 2 years ago and I can barely afford a M4. But maybe I can find a used GT3 though!
TheMidnightNarwhal I hear that man. Used GT3s cost just as much.
Did you wash the car again after you clayed it?
I did not.
I keep my 911 a LOT cleaner than that!!!!JEEEEEEZZZZZ
+Roger Lund Ha, ha...
Are you doing CrossFit because of your shoes?
Eric Groessig Yeah, I'm a Crossfit junkie.
Matt Moreman keep it up! I'm a CrossFit Trainer from Germany.
Another great detailing video matt. btw were you talking about this when you referring to wolf's chemical product that you apply on your window?

Tom B That's funny. I just watched that video last night. I'm certain you'd be able to see the clear film in person.
I think it would take the fun out of detailing too, which works for some people I guess.
wow that guy in the black shirt with red shoes is so cute!! get me his number
how old are you?

Well. Think you have gone a bit too far with this. Spend this time on ur family.
MemoryLaneCinema My wife's cool with it.
Matt Moreman Ok. Didn't mean to be rude, but things can easily take over :). All the best.

boy you have a lot of standards and p.s. I don't need to hear what everything cost !!! i know you have plenty of money.
Trying to make Matt come off as if he's showboating isn't relevant at all in my opinion.
wtf is this hahaha
Minka Kelly Nice!
Matt Moreman 1 hour of your detailing your car? EDIT
Minka Kelly 1 hour? That's too short. It's actually 3 hours just split up. Ha, ha... This boring stuff isn't for everyone, but some people like it.
I guess so haha
Minka Kelly I like seeing the whole process unedited. There are tons of other videos that are shorter.
