To all the beginners out there that are overwhelmed with this game, here’s a few tips I’ve learned after having played this game since around the time it came out. 1. First thing you should do once you begin a run is to look for HIDING SPOTS. It’s very easy to panic and hide in a corner during a hunt, so it’s best to know where’s safe so you can beeline in there once the hunt starts. Trust me, I’ve died more than once when the ghost hunts and I haven’t figured out a hiding spot. 2. You should definitely try playing single-player. It’s really fun playing with friends, but I feel that I get the most practice when I’m playing alone because I tend to just fool around when I’m playing with my friends. There’s so many things you can learn about the game/ghost you’re hunting when you play alone. 3. If you can, find out what the ghosts hidden abilities are. You can be in and out the door within 5 minutes if you know what you’re looking for. Some examples: a great way to figure out an Obake is if you find a fingerprint and there’s an extra finger on the hand. A Banshee will only target one person until that person is dead; although if that player is not inside the house, it will act as a regular ghost so if you feel like you’re the only one being targeted chances are it’s a banshee. Also, a Wraith doesn’t have a footprint. So if a ghost steps on salt and there’s no footprints immediately after stepping on it, it’s a Wraith. 4. There’s so many hidden abilities/effects/quirks within the game that’d be really hard to find if you’re just playing blind, so I suggest watching exp streamers play this game. Great ones are Insym or Psycho. They’ve played for more than 1k hours, and I’ve learned many tips and tricks from them that have helped me feel not so overwhelmed with the game mechanics. That’s all I can think of, but if ya’ll have any questions or concerns, just comment and I’d be happy to help.

Be on the lookout, especially for big maps because some cursed objects can be great help in narrowing down which room/ghost it is. 6. Pay attention and learn the different meanings of the activity board. I’ve figured out a ghost is the Twins from the activity board alone. If you see frequent levels going up to 5 and consistently staying above that, most likely it’s an EMF 5 evidence. 7. If you can, try to practice looping and using the smudge sticks. Deogens can find you even in a hiding spot, so being able to loop a ghost and smudging at the right time is incredibly OP. 8. This is probably obvious, but use headphones. You can figure out the ghost just by footsteps alone i.e revenant is extremely slow when there’s no players in eyesight, and EXTREMELY fast when there is. 9. The most annoying ghost is the Mimic IMO, so if you find the ghost orb, a good rule of thumb is to double check if there’s only 3 evidences. The Mimic has four, and the fourth will always be ghost orbs. Obviously, nightmare mode has only 2 main evidences, so if there’s 3, then it’s probably the Mimic.

52:14 crossing things off is good when you csn say 100% that it's dismissable. You cant dismiss Dots, writing, EMF 5, and sometimes ghost orbs and fingerprints (in particular for obake). Those can happen and you not be there, or the ghost just hasnt done it yet.

Impulses phasmo streams have gone from horror streams to comfort streams for me lmao. I've watched them all so many times, there are moments I can quote word for word even when I'm only half paying attention. Point of the Circle: From Wiki, The summoning circle can be used by lighting (default: F on keyboard) all five red candles with a lighter. Each candle deducts 16% sanity for nearby players, leading to a total of 80% being deducted for all candles. Summoning circle candles can extinguish after a while or be blown out by the ghost, in the same way as regular candles. Additionally, if the player has less than 16% sanity when lighting a candle, the candle will extinguish itself. Once all five candles are lit, the ghost is summoned and fully materialized, except a Shade, which has a chance of appearing as a transparent shadow. The summoned ghost stays motionless for about 5 seconds, unable to kill players. This stationary period is considered a ghost event. However, the front door will lock immediately after lighting the last candle. After this "grace period", it immediately initiates a cursed hunt on the spot, without an additional 1 second grace period. Once the summoning circle is activated, it cannot be used again. In certain cases, there will be no "ghost event" period; the cursed hunt will immediately begin, potentially killing players on the spot: 1. If the player has 16% sanity or less when lighting the last candle 2. If the last candle is lit while a hunt is ongoing (this will extend the existing hunt by 20 seconds instead of restarting the timer) TL;DR: Having everyone group together to light the candles is THE WORST IDEA POSSIBLE. It's use is to summon the ghost for pictures and sub-objectives. If you don't know all of the above and do it right, YOU WILL DIE INSTANTLY. I have never seen a Impy crew use it to an advantage.

Started playing the game today and what I've learnt about the loadout is that it's like a template. You edit the loadout (with +/-) and when you want to "apply" it to your truck, you hit add. If you're familiar with git, it's like the loadout is your "staging area" and then when you want to add it to the truck it's like a "commit" (with the add button at the bottom right).
Hey Impulse, your phasmo vods with Grian and Scar always crack me up. Just an fyi, light the smudge stick as the ghost is approaches you as it stops the ghost from seeing you, then when u chuck the stick it has a secondary effect of stopping the ghost from seeing you. I'm gonna guess all the ghosts based off evidence gathered and behaviors: 1: Hantu - was super slow when you were downstairs. Can also tell Hantu from breathing. Hantu is the only ghost that shows visual breathing. (Your mistake - left flashlight on, and stayed in ghost room. Should've booked out when it ignored you to get out of the ghost room, where Hantus are strongest) 2: Shade - Activity spiked as soon as you left the ghost room, but nothing happens when you're there. Shades can also only hunt under 35% Sanity. Most Ghosts can hunt at 50%. Demons can hunt at any Sanity with its ability, and 70% without. Mares can hunt at 60% in darkness, and 40% in light. Raijus are the same percentages, but its dependent on proximity to electronics. Jinns are the same, but depends on whether or not the Breaker/Generator is on. Jinns cannot turn off the power. Yokais can hunt at up to 80%, but only if you're talking near it. 3: Onryo (you got all evidence) - Candles will act as a Crucifix and hunt trigger for Onryos. An Onryo can't hunt while candles are lit near it, but if it blows out 3 candles and another lit one isn't present, it will trigger a hunt. Candles will prevent an Onryo hunt from up to 5 meters from the ghost (like a crucifix for a Demon). Summoning Circle is useful for getting Ghost Picture since the ghost will have a grace period with no grace period, and will spawn directly in the center. The ghost initiated a hunt right before you lit the candle, which is why it seemed like it didn't work. 4: The Mimic (got all evidence, but I was getting Mimic vibes) - Fingerprints is Mimic evidence, and you didn't do a thorough check for fingerprints, initially. You had the other 3. Run Onryo test (candles) to confirm consistent Onryo behavior. You cannot distinguish a Mimic's fake orb from a real evidence one. All orbs phase in and out. 5: Poltergeist (Guessed Myling, based off sound) - Did not hear footsteps from far range. Proper Myling test is to throw a lit flashlight on the ground and see if you can still hear footsteps after the flashlight stops flickering. If you can no longer hear footsteps after it stops flickering, you're dealing with a Myling. Ghosts can't detect you by flashlight if it's on the ground. Tough to guess when you never actually got to the Ghost room. Poltergeists have a 100% chance to throw objects in-range while hunting, and are the only ghost that can throw more than two objects at a time, as an interaction (I say 2 because of The Twins). You can build a "polte pile" which is a collection of throwable objects (not equipment, but objects in the map), and see if the entire pile explodes, Note that witnessing this will severely drain your Sanity, as you lose 2% Sanity per object thrown by a ghost. 6: Hantu (Was between Revenant and Hantu because of speed, but needed another hunt test) - Revenant is super slow while wandering during a hunt, but quick while it has a target. Again, moving away from ghost room during a hunt will give you a higher chance of escaping a Hantu, but at that point, there would've been no escaping a Revenant without a smudge stick.

It's weird, was never into phasmo until watching the super hard weekly quest in this one, and I suddenly have been binging all the other phasmo content you had uploaded XD
After you light up the circle the ghosts get tp to the circle and it's trapped in it for 5 seconds. The only purpose of this is to take a picture of the ghost. After that you gotta run, because after 5 seconds the hunt will start immediately, so if you are not near the door you might just get trapped.
Not sure about post-update but photo continuity has been an issue since the game began. If you want to share a picture as you see it, the most recent match photos can be found in the game fikes & copied before they're overwritten
Idea for the mimic in a new update: maybe they could have the game constantly record the players' mics and after it kills a player it occasionally plays back bits of tje recorded audio from that player. Just be a fun little gimmic
Idk what is up with the summoing circle but it been bugged for me aswell it but the ghost is supposed to summoned and trapped in the circle for a few seconds frozen so you can snap a photo get it to step in salt or motion sensor then you are supposed to smudge and run or just run and either loop or hide
What camera did you get? Lighting looks good. More natural and the warmth looks like the right kelvin. The white balance looks really good. Then when you went into game at 2:24, it got a lot cooler. Everyone’s preference is different, but I’m definitely a fan of the warmer tones.
Debbie Downer Warning: My dog died a year ago today and, whilst I’ve felt no better all year, today has been extremely hard. Made worse by the fact another dog of ours had to visit the same vets today and I saw the room I said goodbye to my boy in. I was just praying that I had an Impulse stream I could sit down and watch when I got in bed. And noticing this had been uploaded was the light at the end of the tunnel for today. Dang. I felt the exact same way when my cat died a month or so after we got another cat of the same breed. I could barely look at [the new cat] without thinking about [the cat that died] (I use brackets because they were both female and I couldn't use their pronouns without it getting confusing) for a few weeks. But it's been a few years, and I've moved on. Things will get better as long as you remember the time you spent with him instead of dwelling on the fact that he's gone. Besides, even though your new dog could probably never replace the one that passed, you will make new memories with them. Now that's gotta cheer you up some!
@@familytablet6453 We’ve got another elderly dog that was the same age as Louie (the one who passed away last year) who will most likely pass away in the next few months (Harvie). Harvie we’ve had since he was a puppy but Louie we adopted from a rescue in 2020 so we only got to spend 2 years with him. Since he passed we’ve also gotten Poppy and Bennie. All I wish is that Poppy and Bennie had gotten to meet Louie. Especially Bennie because they have the exact same super sweet nature. I really struggle being around people and leaving toe house so I spend literally all of my time with my dogs. They’re ‘children’ to me, I doubt it’d ever get better for me. But I’m glad you were able to move on and I’m sorry for your loss too 💖

I have a really old dog named Sugar Bear that, honestly, I don't even know how she's even still alive. 11 or 12 years old for a Labrador is alot I think (she may be a lab mix i honestly forgor), and she isn't a small lab either. I dread the day I wake up and she's preparing for her time because the entire household will cry. But I simply choose not to dwell on it and cherish the time we have left. @@familytablet6453 I really try to, however I have very vivid intrusive thoughts because of my mental health struggles. So I have seen every one of my dogs dying multiple times in my mind, so it’s all I think about. Harvie especially because he used to escape the house a lot so my mind has seen him hit by cars 100s of times. With Harvie we’ve been taking him on some of his final walks and just working up the courage to say goodbye. He’s a Brittany so life expectancy is 12 and he turned 13 in June.

After this "grace period", it immediately initiates a cursed hunt on the spot, without an additional 1 second grace period. Once the summoning circle is activated, it cannot be used again.
In certain cases, there will be no "ghost event" period; the cursed hunt will immediately begin, potentially killing players on the spot:
1. If the player has 16% sanity or less when lighting the last candle
2. If the last candle is lit while a hunt is ongoing (this will extend the existing hunt by 20 seconds instead of restarting the timer)
TL;DR: Having everyone group together to light the candles is THE WORST IDEA POSSIBLE. It's use is to summon the ghost for pictures and sub-objectives. If you don't know all of the above and do it right, YOU WILL DIE INSTANTLY.
I have never seen a Impy crew use it to an advantage.

Started playing the game today and what I've learnt about the loadout is that it's like a template. You edit the loadout (with +/-) and when you want to "apply" it to your truck, you hit add.
If you're familiar with git, it's like the loadout is your "staging area" and then when you want to add it to the truck it's like a "commit" (with the add button at the bottom right).

Hey Impulse, your phasmo vods with Grian and Scar always crack me up. Just an fyi, light the smudge stick as the ghost is approaches you as it stops the ghost from seeing you, then when u chuck the stick it has a secondary effect of stopping the ghost from seeing you. Good luck with any future hunts and keep doing you!!

I'm gonna guess all the ghosts based off evidence gathered and behaviors:
1: Hantu - was super slow when you were downstairs. Can also tell Hantu from breathing. Hantu is the only ghost that shows visual breathing. (Your mistake - left flashlight on, and stayed in ghost room. Should've booked out when it ignored you to get out of the ghost room, where Hantus are strongest)
2: Shade - Activity spiked as soon as you left the ghost room, but nothing happens when you're there. Shades can also only hunt under 35% Sanity. Most Ghosts can hunt at 50%. Demons can hunt at any Sanity with its ability, and 70% without. Mares can hunt at 60% in darkness, and 40% in light. Raijus are the same percentages, but its dependent on proximity to electronics. Jinns are the same, but depends on whether or not the Breaker/Generator is on. Jinns cannot turn off the power. Yokais can hunt at up to 80%, but only if you're talking near it.
3: Onryo (you got all evidence) - Candles will act as a Crucifix and hunt trigger for Onryos. An Onryo can't hunt while candles are lit near it, but if it blows out 3 candles and another lit one isn't present, it will trigger a hunt. Candles will prevent an Onryo hunt from up to 5 meters from the ghost (like a crucifix for a Demon). Summoning Circle is useful for getting Ghost Picture since the ghost will have a grace period with no grace period, and will spawn directly in the center. The ghost initiated a hunt right before you lit the candle, which is why it seemed like it didn't work.
4: The Mimic (got all evidence, but I was getting Mimic vibes) - Fingerprints is Mimic evidence, and you didn't do a thorough check for fingerprints, initially. You had the other 3. Run Onryo test (candles) to confirm consistent Onryo behavior. You cannot distinguish a Mimic's fake orb from a real evidence one. All orbs phase in and out.
5: Poltergeist (Guessed Myling, based off sound) - Did not hear footsteps from far range. Proper Myling test is to throw a lit flashlight on the ground and see if you can still hear footsteps after the flashlight stops flickering. If you can no longer hear footsteps after it stops flickering, you're dealing with a Myling. Ghosts can't detect you by flashlight if it's on the ground. Tough to guess when you never actually got to the Ghost room. Poltergeists have a 100% chance to throw objects in-range while hunting, and are the only ghost that can throw more than two objects at a time, as an interaction (I say 2 because of The Twins). You can build a "polte pile" which is a collection of throwable objects (not equipment, but objects in the map), and see if the entire pile explodes, Note that witnessing this will severely drain your Sanity, as you lose 2% Sanity per object thrown by a ghost.
6: Hantu (Was between Revenant and Hantu because of speed, but needed another hunt test) - Revenant is super slow while wandering during a hunt, but quick while it has a target. Again, moving away from ghost room during a hunt will give you a higher chance of escaping a Hantu, but at that point, there would've been no escaping a Revenant without a smudge stick.

After you light up the circle the ghosts get tp to the circle and it's trapped in it for 5 seconds. The only purpose of this is to take a picture of the ghost. After that you gotta run, because after 5 seconds the hunt will start immediately, so if you are not near the door you might just get trapped.
I guess it's now Sacrificial Scar... ;) Eh, Skizz needs a break from his sacrificial duties, I guess... lol
Not sure about post-update but photo continuity has been an issue since the game began. If you want to share a picture as you see it, the most recent match photos can be found in the game fikes & copied before they're overwritten

Idea for the mimic in a new update: maybe they could have the game constantly record the players' mics and after it kills a player it occasionally plays back bits of tje recorded audio from that player. Just be a fun little gimmic

Idk what is up with the summoing circle but it been bugged for me aswell it but the ghost is supposed to summoned and trapped in the circle for a few seconds frozen so you can snap a photo get it to step in salt or motion sensor then you are supposed to smudge and run or just run and either loop or hide

What camera did you get? Lighting looks good. More natural and the warmth looks like the right kelvin. The white balance looks really good. Then when you went into game at 2:24, it got a lot cooler. Everyone’s preference is different, but I’m definitely a fan of the warmer tones.

My dog died a year ago today and, whilst I’ve felt no better all year, today has been extremely hard. Made worse by the fact another dog of ours had to visit the same vets today and I saw the room I said goodbye to my boy in.
I was just praying that I had an Impulse stream I could sit down and watch when I got in bed. And noticing this had been uploaded was the light at the end of the tunnel for today.

Dang. I felt the exact same way when my cat died a month or so after we got another cat of the same breed. I could barely look at [the new cat] without thinking about [the cat that died] (I use brackets because they were both female and I couldn't use their pronouns without it getting confusing) for a few weeks. But it's been a few years, and I've moved on. Things will get better as long as you remember the time you spent with him instead of dwelling on the fact that he's gone. Besides, even though your new dog could probably never replace the one that passed, you will make new memories with them. Now that's gotta cheer you up some!
@@familytablet6453 We’ve got another elderly dog that was the same age as Louie (the one who passed away last year) who will most likely pass away in the next few months (Harvie). Harvie we’ve had since he was a puppy but Louie we adopted from a rescue in 2020 so we only got to spend 2 years with him.
Since he passed we’ve also gotten Poppy and Bennie. All I wish is that Poppy and Bennie had gotten to meet Louie. Especially Bennie because they have the exact same super sweet nature.
I really struggle being around people and leaving toe house so I spend literally all of my time with my dogs. They’re ‘children’ to me, I doubt it’d ever get better for me. But I’m glad you were able to move on and I’m sorry for your loss too 💖

I have a really old dog named Sugar Bear that, honestly, I don't even know how she's even still alive. 11 or 12 years old for a Labrador is alot I think (she may be a lab mix i honestly forgor), and she isn't a small lab either. I dread the day I wake up and she's preparing for her time because the entire household will cry. But I simply choose not to dwell on it and cherish the time we have left. You should do the same for Harvie.

@@familytablet6453 I really try to, however I have very vivid intrusive thoughts because of my mental health struggles. So I have seen every one of my dogs dying multiple times in my mind, so it’s all I think about. Harvie especially because he used to escape the house a lot so my mind has seen him hit by cars 100s of times.
With Harvie we’ve been taking him on some of his final walks and just working up the courage to say goodbye. He’s a Brittany so life expectancy is 12 and he turned 13 in June.
