What most people don't understand about Jesus' life, is that everything He did was a fulfillment of Scripture. Also, many non-jews also came to the Temple to have there sins forgive through animal sacrifice, and were not allowed to enter the main Temple area, but section where they could be. It was this section that Jesus drove out the people - not in the Temple itself.
I BELIEVE the Temple or Church is a House of Prayer as JESUS said, a place where people go to talk to or hear from GOD. The moneychangers/merchants, turned it into a Walmart..LISTEN TO WHAT JUSUS SAYS.
@newgeorge Clearly he was never a materialist. Look at his life during his ministry. And on another note he'd need a very large whip indeed to root out the money worshipers in America. America needs to choose between capitalism and Christ. "Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils." 1 Corinthians 10:21
Why not open up a bible and find the answers yourself? For if you believe this man or anyone then you are trusting that they have given you the pure truth. Better to seek the words yourself, not some man's.
I just have to say... Certain breeds actually can follow your finger and look at what you are pointing at and not your finger. More intelligent breeds such as border collies and terriers can look at what you're pointing at but the more unintelligent breeds such as dachshunds look at your finger. It's understandable that he wouldn't know because it's not his area of expertise, I just had to point it out.

Isnt the cleansing of the temple also Jesus fulfilling one of the prophecies from the minor prophets (although i cant remember which one.)?

This man doesn't even know who Jesus is, let alone why Jesus did what He did.
