Dylan and I went to grade school together. He was a very cool dude and still is a very cool dude. You will make a fine astronaut Dylan.
this guy is an amazing example of taking small steps towards your larger goal
This guy is great at explaining! I would love to sit down with him and just dump everything that has ever confused me ever.
My admission decision for UCLA comes out tomorrow(Aerospace Engineering)! So nervous... edit: denied
Dont give up life has more to offer
I got in! (UCLA Aerospace Engineering PhD) Work hard during undergrad, do research, get good grades, and glowing recommendations, and you can still go there for grad school!
@@laker4life36 could you please tell me your stats. And where I'm studying doing undergrad research is almost impossible so will that be a huge downside or could it possibly be overlooked ?
@@Atropos-Fan depends on what other experiences you have under your belt. If you’re only all about academics, you’re probably not going to get in, but if you have serious project team experience and internship experience at big and well known aerospace companies to go along with that, you might have a chance. If there’s no hands-on Aerospace clubs on campus, start your own! Like a rocket club or something.
@@laker4life36 yea that's basically what I wanted to know. I would actually have been very excited to do undergrad research if I could but unfortunately there isn't. So I was thinking if it could be evened out by a good academic record and lots of relevant extracurriculars.
Proud of you, Dylan! I have all the confidence that you will achieve your goals. Good luck, man!
Great video! Looking forward to seeing the rest of his journey to become an astronaut.
Fantastic sharing a lab with him!
He seems too happy....
he loves what he does
He's living the dream. I'd be happy too. I want to be at his position in about 4 years.
Phd students pursue there passions. It takes an insane person to go for a doctorate degree, with a touch of sanity. One day I want to get my Phd in mechanical engineering.
meanwhile me: trying to make the perfect omelette :(
Thank you for making this video. My son is only 8 years old and he wants to attend UCLA and become an engineer.
Interned at SpaceX?!!
Still choosing between software, biotech and aerospace engineering...pray for me.
For graduate studies?
More PhD stories please :)
His looks are not on a model level but i gotta say that smile at 2:01 made me question my sexuality for a second
On the contrary, no doubt about what I wanted when I saw him 😘
What do looks have to do with this?
@@kenny5311 because if he was hot as fuck the chances of me questioning my sexuality would be higher...
(im in undergrad aerospace atm) how does one pay for their daily life and also pursue a PHD and flight school
I like that he studies Russian. Good job!
Its good to round out your knowledge. I study mechanical engineering and love to read about philosophy, general science, self growth.
M L Well he is an aspiring astronaut and Russian is currently a requirement, so it’s probably a good idea for him to study that
5:52 What's he looking at? Is the light even on?
A DAY IN THE LIFE: UNITED STATES MILITARY ACADEMY please find a way make
Great interview Dylan! 5:31 cracked me up
really interesting!
Well that is totally awesome and inspiring.
I'd fly with him :)
this is so cool!
Nerd rockstar! #teamdylan
Very cool!!
He has dropped out of the PhD program.
How do you know , and why would he do that ?
1:59 What kind of plane is that?
Bryce Boyer CSA Sportcruiser
👍🌟
If Steven Rinella was an aspiring astronaut
Great video)
I am an international student and I am finishing high school at the age of 16. Can be the age a problem for entering college or university in USA?
Thank you for answering)
Not at all
Makes me wish I had not flunked algebra.
If you need help in Russian language I can help you)) I would like to study in UCLA 👍
His Mom must be a child psychologist and Dad a Military officer...
My parents worked at Walmart and Lowes and said I was a "loser" twice and NEVER spoke about colleg, future, or life...
Now I'm unemployed, school has been canceled and my wife has gained 40+ pounds in 3yrs...
My life sucks
He isn't, at aerospace then! Pilots-- etc., know-- O2, stops at 10,000 ft! Basic aerospace, flight plans. Bottom line is, medicine of! It's like, ER and General Surgeon, all screwed up! Like, goofy Operatics -- on stages!
Calculus never has, EXP! Bigger then les-- rule! No oxygen, for you?
Wow good luck to him and hope he makes it! I see the NASA shirt he is wearing subliminal rainbow in the back. Representing the LGBT 🏳️🌈 community in his field.
