They are incredible live. I’ve seen them 3 times in concert. Since they’re a cappella they all can sing and have great voices. The beatboxer is amazing! He can do drums, harmonica and lots of other sounds with his mouth. The lead here was Austin Brown, the high tenor of the group. This was during Covid so I thought the use of tvs was clever. You can look up lots of live versions of their songs. One of my favorite live versions is a concert in St. Andrews in 2016. They’re pretty close up and the sound is really good. Enjoy!!!!

I'm not sure there is a live version of this, but there are some videos of live performances on UA-cam, though most of those are of average to poor quality as they are fan made with a smart phone during a concert. They were part of the US Show "The Sing-Off" and their performances are also on UA-cam.
I personally wasn't able to see them live yet, but from what I've heard from a lot of fans is that they are just as amazing live as they are in studio recordings. Many go to their concerts several times.
The who-is-who in this one isn't ideal to explain, but I try my best.
Adam Rupp: co-founder of the group. He's the beatboxer and provider of various kind of sound effects. He plays various instruments, too, drums included which is why he air-drums while he beatboxes.
Austin Brown: the lead in this one. High tenor, but has a beautiful lower register, too. He joined the group in 2013, I believe and left the group this June.
Rob Lundquist: guy with the beard and glasses (I think he's the one you thought is the bass, which he's not). Second tenor, occassional baritone. Joined the group in 2008 or 2009 or so (not sure when exactly).
Adam Chance (goes by Chance): other guy with dark hair and beard, with the plait shirt. Baritone and secondary bass (though not in this one). Joined in 2016.
Tim Foust: the one in the blue shirt and the silver streak in his hair. Main (and low) bass, secondary baritone and occasional tenor. Joined in 2012 I believe.
    Other Members:
Chris Rupp: co-founder, ususally wears a cowboy hat or cap. Baritone. Left the group in 2016
Adam Bell-Bastien (goes by Bastien): has sometimes a mustache or is clean shaven. High tenor. Joined in June 2024 (though he had been part of the group in the past as well).
They've had some other memebers in the past, befor they were widely known.
They do a lot of country music, but do other genres, too.
    Thanks for the reaction.

There are also loads of live videos ("My Church Live" at the 2017 London Acapella Festival is jaw-dropping. Three of them are song writers so there are lots of originals (on Home Free's channel and their individual channels). Austin Brown (lead on this) recently retired from the band. His (now) wife was in the studio and that's who he's looking at. Dive in!

Welcome to the fabulous world of Home Free. These guys are known for their great harmonies, having one of the best bass singers with a 5 octave range & world class beatboxer. Austin Brown did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim Foust's bass & Adam Rupp's outstanding vocal percussion. Drummers have often commented on just how realistic his sound is. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group. Most new reactors start with "Man Of Constant Sorrow".

There are many live performances of them live on UA-cam mostly fan cam but they do have one live professional video of them live Sea Shanty Medley Great Reaction!! Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole
The group started in 2000/2001( there’s contention on the year)by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp
They won The Sing Off season 4 2013
They are the only Country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they are honestly do so so much more than just country music they can sing any genre and they do.
There is no Lead singer in the group. They each ( except Adam R )sings the song and who’s ever voice or voices sound right for the song gets the lead unless it is a bass/ baritone song then that’s Tim or Chance.A lot of time each member have a part in the song.
Fans of Home Free are known as Home Fries
Adam Rupp: Beatboxer Extraordinaire can make almost any sound imaginable (A whole drum kit, harmonica (his Nomonica we call it )plane flyovers, trains, castanets, bugs ,birds etc).Co founder from Mankato Minnesota.
Rob Lundquist:Lead tenor(beard and glasses) Very soulful voice and mastetr whistler from
    Minneapolis,Minnesota
Tim Foust :Bass (had long dark hair now short with grey ) 5+ octave range can go so low he blows speakers or sky high from Nederland,Texas
Austin Brown:High Tenor ( Long wavy hair )Voice of an angel from Tifton Georgia. He has left the group and Adam Bastien took his place June 21 He is from Detroit,MI
Adam Chance(Aka Chance):Baritone/Bass Deep, rich voice(Does the juice harp sound in Man Of Constant Sorrow) has short dark hair short beard from Baldwin County,Alabama.Replaced Chris Rupp ( Adams Brother and co founder in 2016)
They have collaborated with many singers and legends
    Don McLean: Vincent
    Don McLean:American Pie
    Oak Ridge Boys:Elvira
Kenny Rodgers:Children Go Where I Send Thee (Please watch the end message)
    Alabama:Christmas In Dixie
Mark Wills:Don’t Laugh At Me ( important message at the end )
Lee Greenwood & US Airforce Band:God Bless The USA
    Any many many more.
They have amazing songwriters in the group Tim, and Chance and Austin was also one of the songwriters so they have a very large playlist of covers and original songs
End of the Road (Boyz 2 Men cover )
Helplessly Hoping (5 part harmony masterpiece )
    Butts Medley/ Remix
    Can’t Outrun You
    Brothers In Arms
Skull And Bones ( original written by Chance for Ubisoft video game Skull And Bones)
    Life Is A Highway
    Stand By Me
    I’ve Seen (Original by Tim)
    Your Man
Crazy Life ( original and last video with Austin )
Something To Talk About ( first video with Adam B )
    I Still Believe In You
    Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
    The Thanksgiving Song
Let Me Come Home ( Bastien original)
The Greatest Gifts Of All ( Tim Original
Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
There's not a song that you pick from their 200+ catalog that is bad I haven't found one yet.
They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys. They are the best A Cappella group there is IMO
Sorry for the long read 🏠🍟

If you want to hear how they really sound (not that their sound isn't for real here) check out their single number from Kearny, MO on 6.17.2017. Their outdoor concert got drowned out in a nasty thunderstorm and they followed several of their fans up a hill to a tent with hopes of being able to wait out the storm. That wasn't happening so they sang one song for those that were there,; no lighting, not mics, just recorded by everyone there with a cell phone. Search for the city, the date, and the song -- Home Free Kearney, MO How Great Thou Art 6.17.2017 -- because there are several recordings from different angles and distances, about a dozen. A truly amazing and beautiful performance.

This was done during Covid, so they were in separate locations, but singing live. Austin (the soloist) was the only one in the studio. Even in their videos, there's no autotune, etc., although in concerts the beat boxer will use a looper. There's a wonderful live version of "Sea Shanty Medley" online, from a 2022 concert. They really shine in that one, and show off their talents as individuals and as a group.

Great reaction. Btw, I loved your first song. Nice. I’ve seen HF live twice. They are amazing live. You are right that the polished studio version is different than live, in person. But they are perfect live, they really do have amazing harmony without any help. Plus they are such funny, personal guys that the concerts are more like parties. Best live video is from Kearny Nebraska when a storm killed the power and everyone took shelter under a big pavilion. So the fans would get something, the boys climbed up on a picnic table, pulled out a sound pipe, tuned up and sang their hearts out. It was beautiful and real. 🥰🎶

Hexleft them 6 months ago to go solo. They have a new lead tenor named Adam Bastien. Home Free usually has all five members front and center but this was during covid. None of them in same space.
There is a trimverat of A capella. Home Free is firmly in that group.

As others have said, their live shows are even better, and also fun. They try to make each show unique in some small (but significant) way. At some they do a song off-mic by plan. However, at the show I attended in Oct, the bass singer overwhelmed the speaker system, so while it was being worked on, they off-the-cuff sang a song off mic. It is beautiful - there are 2 fan cam videos of it on YT that I know of (one on my channel). There are some other off mic fan cam videos of How Great Thou Art, of Auld Lang Syne, and I think another I cant recall offhand.

I have seen them live, and they are pretty amazing. The beatboxer is better in person. I grew up in the same area that Percy Sledge did. I live about a mile and a half from the studio where the original was recorded and I fell asleep listing to him at night when I was young. He was a local legend. I do not like when people turn this into a 'love' song, it isn't. It is a heartbreak song, a warning to other men. It was written about a specific woman and although I didn't know her, I know people who did and they say she was a real piece of work. I do think that Home Free did it justice, though. The lead singer here, Austin Brown, has left Home Free for a solo career and is working on his first album. He has an amazing voice and I hope that he does well. I don't remember seeing a live version of this on UA-cam, but there may well be one, there is lots of footage from their concerts, but they are from cell phone videos. Thanks for a great reaction!

The contrarian view: I'm 68 years old, and i grew up listening to music on the radio, because I lived in a small city with almost no chance of going to a concert by one of the groups I heard on the radio. Having watched recorded "live" concerts where the musicians performed their radio hits, I hated each and every one of them. Why? Because they have a burning desire to play their music differently each and every time. I've heard any song literally dozens of times on the radio or on an album at home, and expect to hear "THAT" version when they perform it. Their desire for change always outweighs my desire to hear the music the way they did it in the studio. I want to hear the absolute BEST a group can do, not what they feel like that particular day.

The guy with the big beard is Rob, the other tenor, who also has a pretty nice baritone range, which you can hear in his duet with Austin singing Nessun Dorma. Rob can also produce a good bright tone for a more blue grass feel when it is needed.

I don't think they ever did this live. There are lots of so-so fan videos from their concerts. There is a professional video of their Sea Shanty Medley from their Christmas show in December, 2022. I know that there is a good video of a full concert from their European tour last year, but I have not seen it and I don't have the link at the ready. I have seen them several times and they are just as good live. Adam Rupp, the beatboxer is fabulous and has a 10 minute "drum solo" in the middle of the show. They have a very deep and varied catalog. Everything from country to rock to pop to sacred to R & B. Their current lineup is different from this one. Austin Brown, the lead here, left earlier this year to pursue a solo career. I would recommend their cover of the Doobie Bros' Listen to the Music. I have seen them do it live a couple of times. It's pretty great. I really liked your song, too. Off to listen to the whole thing. Enjoy the Home Free party.

That was a nice version YOU did.
I see you've heard their "Sea Shanty medley" live and the impromptu "Home Great Thou Art" when the outdoor concert in Missouri was cancelled due to weather.
They are usually in 1,200 to 1,500 seat venues, so there aren't many times in the last 10 years they have performed with no mics. The bass notes just aren't going to carry past the 5th row.
That "How Great" you saw, and one performance at the Ryman, of "Helplessly Hoping" are the only two no mic ones I can think of.
Under two million YT followers for a US musician is really not that many. Though the numbers are lower for country music are lower than for pop artists.
At the top of the acappella pile, Pentatonix has 20 million YT followers.
Anyway, the hardcore fans will want you to do all the HF songs. I'm hoping you do a couple more.

Singer/guitaris/songwriter *Moriah Formica* formed the band in 2020. Prior to that she had competed on talent shows American Idol and The Voice, and recorded a self produced solo EP, followed by a series of shows in northeast USA.
Lead guitarist Bella Perron joined the band along with bassist/vocalist Ashley Suppa, and finally drummer Faith Powell (who replaced original drummer Brooke C).
Plush has 1 album and 1 EP under their belts. 6.5M streams on Spotify and 4 singles that broke the Top 40 in the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.
They have done 2 nation-wide tours consisting of headlining gigs, festivals and opening for acts like Evanescence, Halestorm, Disturbed, Kiss, Slash, Alice In Chains, Doughtry, SevenDust etc..
Moriah also provided vocals for a series of shows with Trans Siberian Orchestra in between Plush tour dates.

Tim Foust, the ons with the longer hair and blue shirt is the bass singer

Home Free are pheromonal. The lead singer in his song is Austin Brown has left Home Free to pursue a solo career and to be able to spend more time at home with his wife Amberly. In my opinion the persn replaced Austin with is not a good fit. Rad the new guy's Bio and you will see what I mean. Love your reaction!

Yea, just my personal opinion, I think they're overrated. Their bass singer is bomb performing (Man of constant sorrow) but also another video version. Rockstar Dad, your version blew them away. Just sayin. 🇺🇸 ❤ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
Just watched your 1,000 sub video & oh my, what a leap 👍. After the holidays, Patreon for sure. I would love to see you break into the 🇺🇸 🇬🇧 market of the 50's to 80's real live talent before auto tune & AI technology. The OG's from Grand Funk Railroad to Lynyrd Skynyrd to Jerry Reed to Roy Orbison to younger Elvis to The Doors to The Band to The Wrecking Crew to Dire Straits etc. I can tell that you have so much to teach & even if I don't play very well, I love to learn more about the technical difficulty these performers are actually doing & they made it look so easy that we missed it. So many people from 60's & 70's were spoiled by just great raw talent. Anyway sorry for the rant, loving the channel. ❤

Home Free was such a great gift to all of us--especially their extra efforts in providing us with excellent music/videos throughout quarantine and the difficult days of isolation we all dealt with during the pandemic. Their creativity in producing the "quarantine" videos--and their commitment to continuing to provide new entertainment throughout (even though they weren't even in the same state!)--has brought along many HF converts. Got to ❤️❤️❤️ #HomeFree !!
