Lemon Cane Tutorial // Polymer Clay

  • Since my super old lemon/lime cane tutorial was hidden (oh the good ol' days of boldly using copyrighted music in YT videos :D) I now decided it was time to re-create this tutorial. So here it is!
    This tutorial is for a lemon / lime / orange fruit cane. The technique stays the same but only the colors are different when you're making the other canes. This one, being yellow, is naturally the lemon cane.
    You can use the cane unbaked or baked. If you bake the cane bake it for around 5-10 minutes only. The fruit slices are perfect pieces on top of miniature cakes and pies - or to be used for nail art.

    Lemon / Lime / Orange fruit cane tutorial is UP! I had an old video showing this technique but it's since been hidden away (copyrighted music.. it had about 344,000 views so..yeah..sucks :D happened to most of us in the beginning of YT days) But instead of uploading the same video I decided to create a new one. #lemon #lime #orange #cane #tutorial #polymerclay #handmade #dollhouse #miniature #model #scale #fruit #diy #gentlemanbunny #fimo #cernit #sculpey #food

      Susan Butler Thank you :) I have no idea :D I guess using the right colours helps too..the yellow is more like "transparent yellow" than normal yellow. So it makes a more realistic cane.

    How long do you bake a cane for? The normal time?

    • @GentlemanBunny
      @GentlemanBunny  8 років тому +2

      +Marisa Blewett 5min or so :) Just so you can cut it easily without it being smushed

    If I bake it for 5 minutes how long will the cane last

    • @GentlemanBunny
      @GentlemanBunny  7 років тому +2

      I have some clay canes that are 5 years old.. so they'll last a long time! Of course if you cut them into slices and use the slices in some other craft projects then the canes won't last 'cuz you've used them all :)!

    • @GentlemanBunny
      @GentlemanBunny  8 років тому +1

      5-10min or so. Then it's easy to cut into slices :)

    I have a question, what type of clay did you use for the video? Did you use Sculpey?

    Do you cut them after baking or freeze them and then cut then bake?

    • @GentlemanBunny
      @GentlemanBunny  7 років тому +1

      You can do whichever way you'd like. I usually bake for 5-10min and then cut.

    What temperature

    • @GentlemanBunny
      @GentlemanBunny  7 років тому

      The temperature that is says on the polymer clay packaging. It can be a little different depending on the clay type but I usually bake in 110Celsius (230Fahrenheit) for 5min or so.

    • @cutepup3314
      @cutepup3314 6 років тому

      Depends on your clay. It should say so on the packaging.

    I have a question I've been dying to ask, do you cut them before or after they are baked

    • @GentlemanBunny
      @GentlemanBunny  7 років тому

      After. But I only bake them for about 5min so they're "soft" but will hold their form well when cutting :)

  • @PeteWentzsEyeliner
    @PeteWentzsEyeliner 9 років тому

    No matter what I do, when I cut it its just all smushed
