Enjoyed this all the more for knowing the London to Brighton line so well.

I love these sort of stories but then again I love Victorian Railway history and there was an actual Clayton Tunnel disaster.

    • @leonardodavinci8364
      @leonardodavinci8364 7 місяців тому

Account of disaster is wrong - there was no goods train involved or switching of tracks, The disaster involved three north bound trains leaving Brighton at short intervals. Signalling through the tunnel was on the time interval basis and the signalman’s confusion about whether trains had cleared the tunnel resulted in the the third trains running into 5e back of the second.
Idea for the play might be based on the fact that many theatricals frequented the Brighton line, Olivier being the most notable.

Today : both would have spent the entire journey scrolling
through messages and updating FB Status while listening
to music via headphone . No conversation of any kind.
( On balance : considering what a prat the guy was that may have been preferable ? )

P S. In my experience : if you start up a conversation with a
random stranger on a train you are immediately suspected of being a
creep or a Serial killer . Best not to
      do it !!

What makes a fantastic play ? As the person listens to the play he is excitingly stressed, the fright of the next continuing sentence,
As the gentleman explains the train ride from hell..
So take the time out to listen to this play,
The excitement of the entanglement of how he categorises the next frightful moment of this train ride from the hell.
So I advise you to do that as well as hundreds maybe even thousands of people as the train car sways from side-to-side.. and how the people ride to their death.
Within a few paragraphs of frightful suspense.

The only irritating thing about this particular story is
The woman constantly crying out loud.
It begins to get very annoying
If you're going to do it, just get it over with.

    As the train horn blows
She screams her last breath of horror,
    -- As he said,
As he is emotionally expressing, he looks into her eyes:
    --- He say's : darling you said exactly what I was thinking ;
Now as he knows when the routine horn blows on the train as it enters the tunnel. He has practiced this, timed how long it takes to get through the tunnel. ?
He has mentally rehearsed this mental moment and now it's time to play the game.
The lights come on as the train leaves the tunnel, people see her and assumed that she is just sleeping.
    -- Within 19 seconds they'll be another,
-- this is when he makes his departure,
-- with her and threw her off the back of the train
-- no matter she's already dead.
-- then he climbs the ladder of the last train car and continues to train cars ahead, were most of the people on the train car assumed that they walked off.
-- In reality someone will find a corpse bounced
    around the train tracks
-- this is how I would have ended the play :
    -- Where he is free
    Although ,
-- She's nothing but a dead corpse. As the speed and velocity of the train moving, unfortunately the corpse is now dismembered.
laying on the tracksand she is dead.
--. This how I would write one of my plays.
-- Where you won't be able to sleep where you mentally see the man throw her lifeless over the railing of the last.
--that 26 seconds in the first tunnel gave him clearly enough time to strangle her .
Some me the people that write a play, are not as gruesome as me ?
-. You just took the have a good imagination
    -- M.R. James
    & --. I.........
