Saw him live many many years ago and it was the best gig I've ever been to. Just him on a stage with a bunch of hardware in a basement room and the place banging, was incredible.
Hear the crack sounds at the beginning of this track. thats not because its a vynil...thats the song. thats why it called surface noise. these crack sounds were made on purpose. and the whole track follows that "surface noise" cracking sound.the whole rhythm of it...
this is intense, in a very good way. the drilling synth sound whirring and reverberating unhinges and most def, would've been too much for me when charged. reminds me of sets very early morning, which started out deceptively minimal and mild, but, as progressed, ramped up and up till the sun was emerging and you could start to see ppl around you, covered in dirt, and going nuts dancing their ass off. For those who were attending doofs in melbourne and around, 1994-1997 ish.
wtf 1996?!?!?!?!?!?!?! i thought this was len faki - berghain andf it was my favourite of his, i thought it was so fresh but they where making this sht back in 1996 WTF. obviously he was using a time machine
haha listen to that again he mixes this tune from 96 with his tune bx3 from 2010 or something, im not sure the exact date, in one of his berghain mixes
By the way...my beginning of Support Techno music and listen allways some Classics from the Past..any one knows some idenic track? Listen "Wish Mountain" Radio
Blind Test 36 brought my here!
Yeah! Also watched out for Polygon Window? ;-)
@ great track also!:)
1996 .. can you believe it ... WHAT A TRACK
there was alot of this stuff in 1996
Kenneth Demeester yeah
Incredibly sick!
Check out the JB3 Forklift remix by Luke Slater from the same year - Similar madness.
@@auxtone1332 agreed
Back in 1996, this was the soundtrack of my first mdma experience. Yes, I'm 44.
i was born in 1995, but i wish i was 50 and was there when the techno scene was the way it was
He destroyed many places those days and before, and still do. Yes, i'm 51.
It must've taken you to outer space, those first experiences with a proper soundsystem were something special.
Peacefrog was so underrated back in the day, its only now people look back at their catalogue and see the amazing stuff they were putting out.
Bhodisatvas couldn't agree more
No wonder
Allways the same whe people are too far ahead

This track aged very well. Still can drop it today at every party.
i repeatedly found out it doesn't work at weddings
@mattkirk100
xD
Best Comment xD
Really bad weddings/audience if this track doesn't work! ;-)
+special xtc
I find rather some of today's electro music aged already :)
this would be the best opening track for a mix
The longer you listen, the more sense it makes... Vértigo
2023 this still banging af
Nearly 20 years old. So fresh today.
27 years old now in 2023, still perfect 👌
I used to buy every peacefrog release, quality well pressed vinyl, perfect for dj's. Luv it..
Luke Slater is a genius!
One of the proudest moments in my life, listening to Luke Slater at kompass klub in Gent for the happy New year. Dancing to this track is... Just wow.
i always come back to this, easily the best techno track ever made
Never gets old. A classic from Luke Slater! A+++
I love that this is 10 minutes long. If anything id like it longer
Gives you a pew break if you’re on the decks but what a track
depends on how you mix it i guess @@jamesirwin267
Masterpiece in ambient techno electro minimal
Luke Slater - The grandmaster of Techno.
Saw him live many many years ago and it was the best gig I've ever been to. Just him on a stage with a bunch of hardware in a basement room and the place banging, was incredible.
It takes guts to make a track like this in 1996. Love it
*it takes a visionaire
Guts? No, not really. 1996 was still a time of exploration and experimentation for this new musical genre.
This one makes a trip just U're on E.
One of the greatest techno tracks ever...
So acid or ecstasy? Make up your mind :D
Both for good old times... :D
I agree, one of the best techno tracks ever !! outstanding, its on a loop, never ages .....
The past and the future. Timeless.
this song does things to me, possibly the best techno tune ever created
Possibly not even close :/ you need to get out more ..
harsh but true, best techno tune ever created is choice acid eiffel in my opinion , which is like 1567989 times better than this
das kann man nicht vergleichen, denke ich. acid eifel is a french connection!
or you could respect an individual opinion instead of force feeding him yours
i think there is just no "best techno track" or such things... to me it's all based on a personal taste.
Only those that understand can enjoy a tune like this. Classic.
For them that knoe..:
Similarly the same applies to district 1 - the lick

Great that the hats only come in after nearly 8 minutes

I always love to play it and savor the suspense until... until the hi-hat sets in. The reaction of the crowd is always amazing
