I first discovered Yun Duo two years ago. As a 67 y/o Caucasian Texas cowboy, I didn't grow up hearing great Asian artists perform. In May 2010, a Japanese friend introduced me to the music of Taiwanese/Chinese legend, Teresa Teng. I was totally blown away, by this heavenly Angel. That led me to search for spiritual based music from China, including Yun Duo. To me, Yun Duo is one world's greatest, most talented singers performing today. Her voice is truly incredible, but so is her heart and soul. I don't understand Mandarin, but her music touches the very core of my soul. I wish her ever success, blessing, happiness, in her life and music. I'm a loyal fan for life now! Many thanks from Texas.

Hi John, I've long admired Chinese history, culture, music and cinema. That led to an ongoing journey to learn more about music from Tibet, Mongolia, as well as Hong Kong, Taiwan, and mainland China. I found Yun Duo through Tibetan music sites, including another great singer I like, Mi Xian. I discovered Teresa Teng, ironically, through a Japanese friend, who first told me about her in May 2010. My friend was mourning the anniversary of Teresa Teng's May 8, 1995 passing, and sent me some of her Japanese recordings. I was TOTALLY blown away. Still am! I also like Mongolian band, Haya, exploring the spiritual and cultural roots they represent. As a Texas cowboy, I've learned the music I love the most, is indeed that of great Asian artists, including Teresa Teng, Anita Mui, Yun Duo, Haya, Mi Xian, and many more, including Japanese singer, Kaji Meiko. I look for English translations, sometimes finding these from Chinese and Japanese friends, who want to help me understand, appreciate, their beloved artists. What they all have in common are awesome voices, beautiful soulful interpretations, enchanting beauty, elegance, charm, that to me, are far, far beyond any singers I hear in the West. To me, the more we bring East and West together, the better. The only race is human, but we all have cultural variances that we should embrace and celebrate, with humility, respect and sincerity. I'll keep listening to Yun Duo and so many other great artists that have so deeply touched the core of my soul. Blessings and peace to you, from Texas.
