GWSR - ballasting at Laverton

150 tons of ballast go down on the first 200m of new track laid at Laverton on the Broadway extension.
The excess ballast is then ploughed from the inside to the outside using the 'SHARK' ballast plough.
With apologies for the wind noise, but it's cold and it's winter!

Great way to preserve Dogfish and Sharks.... use them!
Could you tell me... Are the hoppers all discharged together or just one at a time?

In this case, all at once. A pile briefly builds up under each one, but it doesn't fully discharge until the previous one, in the direction of travel, is empty.
