Went to see this show by myself in Denver. I couldn't' get anyone to go with me (no one I knew was aware of Amon's music). I didn't do any drugs, just had a few drinks. The show blew me away. Absolutely fantastic.

Isam LiVE was so mindblowing !! seeing at Ancienne Belgique and it was the best show of my life, the sound was incredible , like waves of stone in body , speechless
@@greenderp Yeah for years Tobin had been like "fuck the visuals it's all about the sound system" so when we heard he was doing something with both we went along. This was by far the greatest show I have ever been to. Only topped by the ISAM 2.0 tour. Truly this was the beginning of a lot of the big visual audio shows we see today in electronic music culture. Amon Tobin showed everyone the groundwork on how to put on a truly epic music journey that we still see today.

I agree entirely. I love Beethoven and Mahler and I think this follows in the same tradition. You keep the audience with you by giving them something repetitive and familiar to hang on to, and then make it as wild as your imagination and technology allow, expressing things about the human condition that can't be said with words. It's a fucking masterpiece!
He definitely was when Isam was doing the rounds. Saw it a couple of time’s, amazing. He’s fallen off since then though. Two fingers sucks, last two Amon albums were meh.
The crazy part about this is when you watch it on a UA-cam vid you can never be 100% sure if it’s happening in real life or it’s being edited over the video
It does exist. It was an exclusive download from the ISAM era website. You'll know when you've got the right one when the album artwork is a seahorse skeleton. I should know, I have it ;-) Edit- looks like it was also a proper digital download at some point - www.discogs.com/Amon-Tobin-Horsefish-Live-Mix/release/1367888

Isam was the Start of a totaly new generation of Stagedesigns and Live Shows, without a doubt one of the most Important shows in the 2000s.
2010s, right? Two thousand and teens, however the hell you're meant to say it 🙂🙃
I was at this Sydney show. Left an indelible imprint on me 😍
Frank Zappa would be proud.
The french producer/DJ Etienne de Crecy did something a bit similar 4 years before ISAM ua-cam.com/video/Jzil8S7tUeY/v-deo.html

I like the part most where the video effects are so amazing and in sync with every beat of the freaky music.
ha lol
19:34 Live you felt this in your soul at the show. Stunning sensory experience.
For anyone wondering, the song starting at 1:06:50 is Sarah on a Worm by the Sea Nymphs
I’ve wanted to see this in person at a show for years
Many of us do.
Saw it live 3 times in London :-) HMV forum, Camden Roundhouse and Brixton Academy, melted my brain

Is it possible that there will be an ISAM show in the future again (preferably in Europe)?
I'd really love to see this live, absolutely astonishing.
Sadly, no chance. Can't wait to see Amon in Europe though.
BTW I saw ISAM live and it was jaw dropping experience. People were crying, seriously

One of the best combo visual+music I have ever seen (London, I think it was 2012??)

I think the Chemical Brothers might have something to say about that...
Or Aphex Twin? 🙂
Or Daft Punk...
I had forgotten how special this is. I saw it live in Atlanta. so fantastic!
I was fortunate enough to see Amon in Melbourne for the live recording of Solid Steele. Isam would have been mind blowing.

New I think. The version I saw on here 6 or 7 years ago wasn't from Sydney.
This is from the Vivid Live 2012 series of shows at the Sydney Opera House. It was only made public about a month ago.

Interesting and a bit Avant Garde, but can't really match Den Sorte Skole in eclectic music vibes.
not the same approach. Except for the Two Fingers album, he don't use sample since 2002.
