    How come people can’t wrap their minds around this. There is no reason for 60 privateers showing up chewing up the track with no chance of making money or making the field. Set the field at fixed number of riders all making money one qualifying session and go race. Privateers can race another series and earn their way in. Just like every other race series.

    For safety reasons, the tough blocks should have water bags in the bottom of them.And not covered with the plastic bag.They should be a foam that just disintegrates when you hit it and comes apart

    Why can’t we just be happy with the way the sport is now. You hear the older generations talk about how much better it was back in the day. It’s not going to be F1 or moto Gp. And if it does get there, it will be unobtainable to the Carmichael’s, McGraths, Villopoto’s, Jett Lawrence’s. It will be a gate full of the fastest rich kids.

    The idea of in-ear comms in theory sounds good. Depending on the rider, auditory may be upsetting or distracting when concentrating in techy sections. I wonder if doing lighting on the front fender or bar pad would be a better option. We already have leader lights and GET products from commercial and personal technology

      @GYPSYTALES fair, i wonder how much f1 racers listen for the cars around them compared to moto. Countering this note is the fact flagging audio triggers can probably be short duration and just repeated increments while in the zone.

    Here's the change I'd like to see & that's to allow 250 2-STROKES to race the 250 4-STROKES. They race differently & would use different lines, increasing the racing quality. Even if they have to use rules, restrictions are fine because the 2-STROKE is so much cheaper than a 4-STROKE, especially to race & maintain, which would help the privateers & smaller teams. But I also think this is why so few normiesvride compare to the late 80s throught the erly 2000s. Modern 4-STROKES are just so expensive
    [The ONLY problem is I think ONLY Yamaha & the Austrian brands make a 250 2-STROKE]

    Moto GP is Prototype racing for a reason . They push the boundaries of what possible for the vehicles and riders. The point is to test crazy tech and then have it trickle down to other bikes later. 250 should be production but 450 should be the equivalent to Moto GP prototypes

    I think a big issue with our series is the financial gap between the factory teams and the privateer teams. If there was a budget for our sport it would help the privateer teams stay competitive with the factory teams from a bike and rider perspective.
    I also wish teams got paid out at the end of the year for their performance. Like a separate team championship from the rider championship. That way the privateer teams feel they are competing for something and can invest more into their bikes and their riders with the money they win racing. I feel this is a good place to start to keep privateers in the sport. Get these guys on smaller teams making money and out of their own vans trying to make it work on their own.

  • @CMLVI
    @CMLVI 6 годин тому

    Nah, I agree. It doesn't really do us any good when they have a "production" bike, and then drop $250k worth of trick parts onto the platform. The MXGPs aren't any less popular or fun to watch because they are free-reign. Let the platforms be made for each rider. Do a cap on the costs, and go fuckin' wild. We want to see the athletes, not the bikes, and the bikes should put them in the best position possible.
    Also...the Forkner comment was out of pocket lmao

  • @brianmaple4516
    @brianmaple4516 Годину тому

    Make all parts available. Or make the specs available.
    Tomac wants a modded frame, make the info available so privateers can copy it…. Nowadays that would be so easy.
    Ported head or different valve timing…. Do it! Just make the specs available so others can copy it.
    If a privateer wants to beef up his frame, let him do it! Just make it public!

  • @ALLORLANDOPOOLS
    @ALLORLANDOPOOLS 6 годин тому

    If were saying anything goes then let the limiting factor be CC's alone! A privateer operation can absolutely build a 450 cc 2 stroke bike and be competitive with a talented rider.

  • @zealobiron

    If they keep privateers in 450s, make it that the top 15 guys don't have to participate in every session. Remove a practice other two. Both free and timed. Let the privateers do an lcq for the last five spots. Definitely get rid of production rule for 450, maybe tighten it up a little for 250s.

    Watch guys like Masterpool, Phil Nicoleti getting top 10 scores is amazing.
    Plus, I don't believe so much on the works bikes. American riders won the mxon more than any other country with stock frames.
