- ATARASHII GAKKO! - NAINAINAI Official Video first time reaction! Today I'm reacting to the bizarre ATARASHII GAKKO! for the first time with their equally bizarre release NAINAINAI! I was in no way prepared for this thing, but I absolutely loved it! The girls were all charismatic and hilarious, the video was a blast to watch, and the song was fun AF. As bizarre as ATARASHII GAKKO! are, I loved every second of it and I can't wait to check out more! 😂😍

You need to look at some of their dance practices, they are incredible dancers.
I like them even better than the videos.
They are so fun. They don't take being an idol too seriously and that's refreshing to see.
More more more Atarashii Gakko! they have so much to offer, mostly high quality music and choreography. They don't write the music but they make the full choreos, write lyrics and even edit their videos sometimes.
Even though the direction their management makes them take is worrying me a bit, their first two albums (and the four singles after them, ending with NAINAINAI) are absolute bangers.
Oh and believe it or not, the "girl with the glasses" is named... SUZUKA, yeah that name must be something special ahahah
As for what song to listen to, I'd say any song you can't go wrong. Koi Geba, Otona Blue, Okami No Uta, Kimiwaina'17... Gakko Ikeya must have the catchiest chorus ever
They really did write some songs, mainly Mizyu (lyrics), and Rin usually sets the rhythm in the parts where they rap.
What's worrying you about their current direction? I thought their most recent "Freaks" wasn't their best but I don't know what you mean overall.
Atarashii Gakko's music is really diverse, from hip-hop, rock, jazz edm etc. They can do whatever they want. They choreograph their own songs, write lyrics sometimes, they promote it themselves and even in their live shows, they have this little acting scene before the songs (depends of what song is about) or talk to the fans. They've been a group for 6 years (since 2015) and they just blew up this year with the help of 88rising and maybe tiktok. They are also young as well, Suzuka (glasses girl) & Rin (curly hair) are 19 turning 20, Kanon (long hair girl) is 19, while Mizyu (long pigtails hair) is 22 turning 23.

ATARASHII GAKKO!, known in Japan as "Atarashii Gakkou no Leaders" (Leaders of the New School) are IMO the next great thing to come out of Japan.
Don't let the Hip Hop sound of this song give you the wrong idea. They're also very comfortable with Jazz, Punk, Funk, etc.
They've released two albums so far.
Maenarawanai (マエナラワナイ) in March 2018 and Wakage Gaitaru (若気ガイタル) in March 2019.
Also 12 singles. The two most recent are 'NAINAINAI' and 'Freaks (with Warren Hue)'.
They write a lot of their own lyrics, and create all of their own choreography.
They've also been trained in Kumitaisou (an acrobatic dance form centered on teamwork and balance).
ATARASHII GAKKO! are Suzuka (the lead singer), Mizyu (with the twin-tails), Rin (short hair, perms, etc.) and Kanon (long straight hair).
All four sing really well, and bring various dance specialties (Hip Hop, Ballet, etc.) to the mix.
I can't recommend 'Otonablue', 'Koi Geba', or 'Dokubana' strongly enough.

They’re so awesome! Love their music, it’s eclectic and all over the place and they keep it fun and adventurous!
Oh, you HAVE to react to 'Freaks' and 'shiken zenya (Night Before the Exam)'!
This group is an indie idol group, meaning they weren't put together by a label or talent agency and they do almost everything themselves. They are totally crazy and are so much fun. They have an almost punk ethos and they like to subvert what you would normally expect from an idol group. They're well worth looking into more.

ATARASHII GAKKO! have been affiliated with the talent agency ASOBISYSTEM from the beginning, which has also managed popular celebrities like Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and CAPSULE.
They do write some of their own lyrics, and they create their own choreography, which is epic.
ATARASHII GAKKO! have been getting a lot more attention lately since they signed a distribution deal with 88rising.
@@rickwagner- There's a difference between being managed by a company and being manufactured by one. Regardless, they do seem to have a lot more independence and agency than most idol groups

Glad to see you getting around to check out Atarashii Gakkou. They are one of the best Japanese groups I have discovered, and I feel they are poised to become a huge international success. The four girls are:
Rin - the one with curly hair. Rin is the exotic one.
Kanon - the one with long straight hair. Kanon is the pretty one.
Mizyue - the one with the twin ponytails. Mizyue is the kawaii one. I am talking Band Maid's Miku Kobato level of cuteness.
Suzuka - the one with glasses. Suzuka is both the smart one and the funny one. What is it about Japanese girls named Suzuka that gives them such an awesome, almost frightening stage presence?
All four girls are good singers and outstanding dancers. Atarashii Gakkou's music is a mix of J-pop, rock, punk, hip hop, and lots of jazz. They incorporate gymnastics into their dance routines, which gives them some impressive moves. All the girls are very fast, extremely agile, and way stronger than they look.
Atarashii Gakkou has always put me in mind of an older version of Sakura Gakuin, had they continued on through high school. They are bit older, less innocent, and more cynical of the world around them. Whereas Amuse always kept the girls of BabyMetal and Sakura Gakuin on a very tight leash, the girls of Atarashii Gakkou are off the chain! They can be rude and even crude, but they are never sleazy, although they do have that somewhat disturbing habit of shoving their heads under each other's skirts. That is just part of their quirky (some say weird) behavior that makes them so much fun to watch.
Atarashii Gakkou also have a series of short videos about various aspects of life in Japan. These are both hilarious and quite informative.
I think Mizyu-Miku-Yui is the Kawaii Trinity

Just tread carefully; AG’s fan base seems to be even more fanatically dedicated than Babymetal’s followers. With Nai Nai Nai you are at the hip hop end of their spectrum, but they have a jazz end. Suzuka, Rin, Kanon and Mizyu write much of their own songs, do their own choreography and choreography others. When you do Freaks you will realise it is a cover of a very old song, but much better than the original. Incidentally you just must react to Millenium Parade’s song U from the new Hosodo anime film Belle - it is mindblowingly beautiful and features the vocals of Kaho Nakamura

Maybe next time you can watch one of their live perfonmance, like Otana Blue. I don't really like the MV of "Freaks", I prefer the choreography video (they choreograph their own songs).
