Didirikan untuk menghadapi pasukan Jerman di Belanda, Batalyon II Resimen Infanteri ke-6 (2-6-RI) justru terdampar di Semarang. Orang-orang Jawa kemudian menjulukinya sebagai “tentara sepatu rusak”. Mereka bertugas di sekitar Semarang, Weleri, Kaliwungu, Salatiga hingga Bringin hingga akhirnya ditarik tanggal 24 April 1948.

@@REPUBLIKOFNIAS Of course it is horrible what happened here and should've never happened but saying hating the Dutch forever is like saying hating Germany forever because of WW1/2, you can't blame a new generation for things that happened in the past. I understand the pain and feeling you get thinking about this film but hope you reliese that it's history as well

Wat mij stoort is dat ze dan 1 guy wel met een Twents accent laten praten maar de hoofdrolspeler die zogenaamd uit Limburg komt praat als een Hollander.
Dat viel mij ook op. Net als het feit dat de Hollanders het Twentse accent niet schijnen te horen. Verhalen uit die tijd scheppen een ander beeld. Net als ervaringen van tegenwoordig.
In de jaren '40 was er ook al "import" in veel regio's. Misschien dat hij opgegroeid is in het westen en daarna verhuisd?
Ik heb de film nog niet gezien overigens.

The Dutch government can walk away from independence war in Indonesia because they consider the war is between Netherlands Indie and Indonesia. At that time Netherlands Indies was a separate administration and a dominion in within the Kingdom of Netherland. There is no official statement from the Hague regarding the truth or even investigation of the captain's deed. Whenever questions arised, they said, none of my Business. Its American, Japan, Indonesian, KNIL, British problems, not The Hague. They became saviour when things went bad, as peace negosiator. So, why bother with the truth now?😄😄
