Look back at the scene... Blitzy... looks like he was building up to talking to Fizz about more than Friendship. Fizz is holding a "Wish you where my Son" card given by Blitzys Dad, that gave him the "you are not worth it" boost and he just pushed that guy out of the way. The result ? Everything white on Blitzy and Fizz are burnscars... Fizzes red nose, is because he was wearing a red nose that protected that peace of skin from burning.
Regarding Stolas and Blitz: it doesn't help that Stolas initially thought that Blitz really wanted dirty talk and kink, which reinforces Blitz's ideas that Stolas only sees him as a sex object.
Your analysis at the end about Blitz being scared of relationships that aren't contractual is 100% on point and yes!!! That is *exactly* why rebuilding his relationship with Fizz is SO important and so good for Blitz. On a different note, as others said, do watch the song Just Look My Way before watching episode 8! ❤️
Your "rambling" is why I am here! Your insight into the characters is amazing and it is enlightening listening to your analysis which is often quite prophetic. Thank you for your content and keep up the great work!
Blitz THINKS the massive fire is his fault, but (in my opinion) it was the fault of the circus manager/owner. The one who decided to not store all the fire hazards (27:09) in a non-secluded location caused the fire to to go from worrisome to catastrophic.
27:15 seeing how badly the fire ripped through Fizz’s flesh in a few seconds, brings a new meaning to Blitzø’s sarcasm toward Martha back in S1E1. “YOUR fire doesn’t work on us, but I can fake it-“ and so on. Yeah, of course fire can hurt, but it’s just an upsetting nod to Blitzø’s comment from back then. And I’m sure someone else has commented it here, but there’s also when Blitzø fought Robo-Fizzaroli at Loo-Loo Land, and it starter lumbering towards him, laughing and burning ‘alive’ right before his eyes. Blitzø told Moxxie & Millie to go protect Stolas, so he could take care of “unfinished business”…confronting that day when his actions lead to a circus tent inferno, and his friend burning alive before him 😞
9:44 to my knowledge, horns are a status symbol (mostly for male imps) and a physical advantage. imps with bigger horns are seen as more attractive, stronger or simply superior to imps with smaller horns. Blitzø has bigger horns than average, and Fizz did too (keyword did lmao) so it's like a pride thing for them
Each of the rings do reflect their rulers a lot, so some rings are much better than others. Like how lust is nice but greed is a shithole. However, the pride ring is kind of out of control because lucifer has a very hands off approach due to his distaste for sinners in general.
I always enjoy hearing your character analysis for Helluva Boss! Also, I’m sure others have commented this before but I’d recommend watching the “Just Look My Way” music video in between episodes 7 and 8! It’s a standalone song but acts as somewhat of a bridge into the Full Moon episode (S2E8).
I just adore how supportive Ozzie is of Fizz, usually just making suggestions, but never really forcing him to do anything. He is written as a remarkably perceptive character (And I absolutely love that in the Episode 7 he tells Ozzie in the dressing room "You're not okay!" - i think that's really important, as everybody was just asking him if he's okay or that he should be okay.. and with Fizz' tendency to people please I think it was neccessary for somebody to state to him what is going on.) Please, never be sorry for pausing too much or going on long rambly tangents - they are absolutely fantastic and a treat to listen to
One of my top favorite episodes I'm excited to see your reaction, love your insights. One thing though i dunno if you saw it or not but the card fizz got from blitzøs dad mentioned something along the lines of i wish you were my son, while blitz was also about to give fizz a flower and a card that says for fizz's eyes only 👀, plus what makes it sadder honestly for me is not only was his mom killed it was also fizz birthday i couldnt imagine all of this happening in one go its crazy and super sad this episode also gave me a new understanding and love for blitz that when i started this show i never thought I'd like him this much for some reason and now all i want to do is keep this adorable bean safe and happy just like alot of the characters love like stolas or fizz for examples. But this was fun i cant wait to see your next reactions.
You’re the first person I’ve heard articulate a dislike in the change with Striker being about motel vs lair. It’s an interesting thought! My rationalization for the difference would be that in HMF he knew that Blitzø had a hellhound and was being extra-careful in case Loona had managed to pick up his scent and track him. Where as in WE he was very confident he’d gotten away without a tail. As for this episode, there’s so many little easy-to-miss details between Blitzø and Fizz. First off, Fizz seems to be the first person that he’s opened up to At All about how he feels connected to Stolas. It’s not perfect, it’s not revealing his full emotions, but it’s definitely more than he’s said to MnM or Loona. He trusted Fizz with that part of himself even with 15 years of animosity between them. Then, when they were in the cage and Striker grabs Fizz from behind? Blitzø immediately goes into snarling protective mode. And then he was super protective of Fizz all throughout the fight. And that was before they started any reconciliation! (And afterwards when they were cornered and backing up, Blitzø physically put himself between the danger and Fizz.) And then when their emotional moment is interrupted by Fizz being grabbed from behind, one of the goon’s hands grabs Fizz’s hat, and Blitzø immediately grabs the hat as well, making sure it doesn’t get pulled off of Fizz’s head. Just the way he’s looking out for Fizz and aware of what’s happening with him even when they’re not fully friends again yet is so good! I also love that Crim presumably knows Italian and understood what Fizz was saying during that part of the song, given his WTF face. Because it was literally a string of random words (the subtitles are the translation in that section). This is also the episode that sold me on the series (I found it through reactors who were watching this as it dropped while also reacting to The Owl House, and were already a few episodes into S2 here.) Also I tend to look at the circus fire through the perspective of accident investigations (like NTSB-style ones). And when you look at it putting all the factors in place, Blitzø is only teeny bit responsible, if at all. It’s not his fault that the tents were so flammable, that fireworks were stored in such a way that made them easy to set off, that there were no procedures in place to handle inevitable accidental fires. Those are the main causes, and those are all MANAGEMENT problems, which in this case means Cash. But that also doesn’t change perception and misplaced guilt, and survivors guilt. And then others putting misplaced guilt on Blitzø would reinforce his internalized guilt. It’s like how a kid blames themselves for problems between their parents, even though it’s not actually the kid’s fault.
What a cute bunny! I'm impressed at how quickly you picked up that there was something about the horns. "How does Hell end up being as bad as it is when there are decent people running the rings?" Well, even setting aside whatever theological bias towards evil Hell was created with (I don't much trust the accuracy of Charlie's book), being a decent person doesn't make you a good administrator. Lucifer has been too depressed to govern for some time and doesn't care about sinners. Bee seems kind but also very much a party hound; she doesn't remember signing off on Loona's adoption despite the unique circumstances and I'd guess she has no idea how bad that orphanage-pound is. The hospital staff in Sloth didn't seem to consider Loona a person, and that does not make me confident about Belphegor. Asmodeus is very organized and conscientious and Lust seems like the best ring to live in. He wasn't exactly effective in responding to the kidnapping, though. I love the understated little interaction going on while Ozzie is patching Fizz up at the end - Fizz is scared of the scissors, which makes perfect sense, guy's been through so much medical trauma. Ozzie pretends not to notice and distracts him by talking about Stolas, and the two of them obviously have this routine down from years of practice. It's so sweet.
That's a peak Helluva Boss right there... For now! Because the next episode will keep the momentum going, but towards less "trauma" and more "feels good" stuff. I don't have much to say because you've already "rambled" through most of it. But I'm of the same opinion that Blitz and Stolas need to fix their own shit before advancing their relationship. It's not just a miscommunication problem!☝ 44:05 It's theorized that Fizz's vocal cords were also damaged in the fire, which is why he sounds so Beetlejuice-y. He's endured an insane amount of suffering and still managed to retain his endearing personality. Boundless respect for people who are like that in real life!
That last analysis was SO brilliant - you have a better insight into Blitzø and Stolas than most other reactors. I am really hyped for your reaction to the next two episodes, this is gonna be 🔥.
I fully agree with you about Happy Campers, it’s not a bad episode, it’s just not good compared to the earlier episodes (and 2nd hand embarrassment/cringe always gets people) Edit: I also agree with you about Striker and his changes in Western Energy, it made him a lot less interesting and intimidating as an antagonist and character in general
Thank you for introducing us to Kija. He's extremely cute. I'm glad my comment led to this. Your reaction series was the first I saw after this episode aired. When I rewatched the LooLooLand episode with you, I realized something. After the accident Blitzo diapered from Fizz's life for 15 years. And the first news Fizz gets after this long time is how Blitzo destroyed a Fizzbot by setting the circus tent and most of LooLoooLand on fire. This must have triggered really painfull memorys and probably confirmed everything Fizz thought about Blitzo. It's really remarkable he was still able to reconcile with him. Also, I love your pauses, discussions and analysis. That's why I'm watching you. In my pinion the worst people to watch something with are those who just silently watch something and are bothered if you speak to them. If I wanted that, I'd just watch the episode on my own. The second worst are those who will discuss something with you, but won't stop the show and miss half of it because they don't pay attention.
Ohhhh I always just thought the whole loolooland debacle should have been more traumatic for Blitz and I mean maybe it was but he hid it But does Fizz know he is the one who set it on fire? Because I thought not
@@Pokeminator I understood it like they are still searching for the one who did it in Ozzies but if thats really the first thing Fizz hears of Blitz after all those years Oooooff
When Helluva Boss is over you might like reacting to Owl House. It’s not as harsh as Helluva Boss, but it’s cleverly written, and I think you would like it.
Interesting point about Striker's lair, I never thought about that! About Stolitz, well, first of all, they need to learn to COMMUNICATE. Don't apologize for being a good audience, that's what makes your reactions interesting to watch! Trust be, watching someone brain dead during the show, not saying anything and not expressing any feeling isn't interesting nor entertaining!
Considering the contract offers stability and the clause for the contract, if we go back to the talk of the contract in ep 1, it was only for sex, just because feelings are now added doesn’t change the initial contract, so it is easier to misconstrue what the deal entails, plus the fact we nEVER see our two arguably main characters talk, really ever for the literal hell of it, it goes to show everything can go wrong up to the most recent episodes, sorry for the long rant
In regards to your question about the Deadly Sins being decent people: Queen Bee is the sin of gluttony. She's about overindulgence, and satisfying your cravings with things you want but don't need. She's mostly about doing things for pleasure even when those things can be unhelpful or even harmful to you, like drugs and unhealthy foods. Asmodeus is the sin of lust, which is similar. It's about sexual pleasure, and satisfying your sexual urges. But since he cares about the sexual pleasure, he wants to maximize it, and there's the most pleasure when both parties consent. Again, it's a sin about happiness over healthiness. The most notable thing about those is that it's fully about pleasure. Gluttony is pretty much solely personal pleasure, and doesn't really involve anyone else, and while lust does somewhat involve another person a lot of the time, it's still focused on pleasure for all parties involved. As for the other sins...whoever is the sin of sloth is also probably fine, since that's also just focused on personal pleasure and doesn't really affect anyone else, but wrath is about hurting other people, greed is about having the most, pride is about being better than everyone else, and envy is about wanting what everyone else has. Those are all more focused on a person's relation to those around them, and often on tearing others down and making yourself better. So, Asmodeus and Queen Bee (and whoever is the lord of sloth) are all kind of predisposed to be kinder, friendlier sins, while the others are predisposed to be more hostile and villainous.
