I don't think she is bitter about that. I think what she is missing from him is true love. He probably treated her well when they fell in love, but then he cheated and he started to feel low and as not worthy of her. Instead of confessing and trying to get her forgiveness, in his head he had to put her down to be on his level, so he trates to believe she was cheating to and he started to degrade her. She then got more and more broken by him trough the degrading, the false accusations and the constant humiliation and the screaming. She stood there and still was loyal to him because she was unable to cheat due to her morals. Now she is basically destroyed and he had to see to some extent that he had been hurting her and torturing her psychologically for no good reason other than to not feel as bad about himself. All she wanted from him is to marry her and treat her with love and he failed enormously. Now the only thing she likes about him is the way he treats their children, because he stopped to do anything nice to her, but for her to leave him isn't that easy due to the children and due to the fact that she still loves him and wants him to treat her how he did when it was good. She is longing for something that is long gone. I do not believe that he would change, but maybe he did. At least they should get marriage counseling and individual therapy.
