Astor Pictures was a small indepedent New York distribution company that primarily reissued defunct studios' films [Grand National] and several earlier films from RKO-Radio, Hal Roach and Monogram in the '40s and '50s, as well as several independent and foreign films. The last Astor release was in 1963.
I believe they also released a bunch of 1930’s and 40’s Paramount films. They also re-released a bunch of United Artists, Hammer Films, and Educational Pictures material, and later in their lifetime released many European films. They had a television division named Atlantic Television and even a 16mm distribution division called Comedy House.
