Put some fahren led's in my 2017 durango. Projector headlights and fog lights. 6500k matched the DRL's great. Had great hot spots, flood, and ofcourse cutoff with the shutters and we're a HUGE improvement over halogens. I am impressed for a "budget" set of led's. We will see about the 50,000hrs longevity but so far I'm very pleased. Although I have no real way of measuring lux or lumens or what not but I'd say easily 2 or 3x brighter. The only one complaint I have was the 9005's fit a little loose but with the ballast tucked into the headlight housing and the dust cover being pretty close to the heat sink I don't think it will be a problem. The h11 fog light fit perfectly.
From my experience as a lighting planner, in the case of the Durango, the best choise in this video is the stock halogen bulb. It's got the best uniformity, and the hot spots are perfect. Maximum lux isn't a correct measure at all for the effectiveness of a bulb - In fact, the one with the brightest hot spots was the worst when it comes to uniformity. When measuring lighting equipment, uniformity is the best way to compare, both minimum/average ratio and minimum/maximum ratio in the area of interest. In the case of this video, like I said, the halogen bulb wins at both ratios. And another point: an increase of even 50 lux in that case is only a %16 improvement, which is completely neglagable, since our perception of light is logarythmic andd not linear, which means you can't realy percieve actual difference - it's the whiter light altering your perception.
8:14 you can clearly see a better light spread from the factory halogen bulb, specifically in the lower left hand corner. my experience with LED headlight kits thus far is that they are still not perfect and your best bet is to stick with halogen or go to HID. LED technology just isn't quite there yet
I would disagree to be honest, with the current LED technology we have had bubls testing as good if not better than HIDs incertain applications. The S-V.4 are great bulbs and I installed them in headlights and fog lights. The headlight install is tougher than you’d think by your remarks, but you did say “I’ve tested that on on the bench”. NIGHTMARE INSTALLATION!!!!! Sure, the bulbs can be installed in under 5 minutes. But trying to stuff the driver and wiring in the headlight AND get the dust cover back on is an EXTREME challenge!!!!!
It is actually versy simple if you follow our steps on how to do this! You will want to first plug in the LED Driver to the factory wiring, then tuck that back into the housing off to the side of the bubl opening. Then you will plug the bulb into the driver, and install the bulb into the housing. It is hard to get that driver past the bulb in that little amount of room, so that is why you want to install that driver first. Morimoto needs to use common sense and not have their h.i.d. bulbs have the fuse strip thing hanging down on the bottom of the bulb once mounted. It causes a huge dark line right down the middle of the light. Why not make it face the side so its not visible on the beam pattern? Ive tried over 10 led/hid bulbs on 2018 sportage base and none work!
Morimoto HiD kits come with two different type of bulbs. Go to theretrofitsource.com and it will specify it right there. There are two type of bulbs, H11A and H11B, with B being the most common in most applications, like my 2011 Toyota Camry. However, there are some vehicles that require the A bulb. There is a video there explaining which one you’ll need. Hope you find this comment helpful. I’ve had no problems with my HiDs
Complete nightmare install. Especially if your LED light has a brick external driver. Trying to fit that around the light is nearly impossible. Broke my dust cover trying to fit it in. DO NOT BUY LED LIGHT WITH EXTERNAL DRIVER FOR THIS VEHICLE. Unless you enjoy being extremely frustrated. (Installed S-V.4 LED lights)
Sorry to hear that you had trouble, we would have been happy to help! Those bulbs with the fan base definitely have trouble also fitting the LED driver, if you do not install it correctly! If you simply plug the driver into the OEM connector, tuck it in, then actually install the bulb, it will make this process a whole lot easier! Let us know if you have any trouble in the future, as we are here to help!😃

are there any complete housing replacements out there for the 14 to 20 durango?
Not currently. 😞
Is it better than the stock non halogen bulbs with the projectors?
Abslutely!
Try KEON SONDRA
I'll add it to our list, Thanks for the suggestion! -Chris W
I have a dark line going down the middle of the light beam. Any suggestions?
Try rotating the bulb!
Where do you buy the S-V.4 lights?
You can get them from the link in the description!
are the SV4 suppose to have a high beam on a single bulb???
It depends on the bulb type. Single filament bulbs do not, but dual filament has that option.

Not sure! Sorry!
Did the HID vs LED video ever happen?

Has anyone had luck tucking the external drive inside the headlight? I bought VLEDS micro extreme and I can’t seem to get the external drive in
You should be able to no problem!
Does this work for 2013 Durango?
Bulbs will not be the same! You can enter year/make/model here to see your options: www.headlightrevolution.com/
Pretty sure my Durango came factory with LED lights, unless somehow Halogens can have a bluish/purple, white color and still be bright
Not all of them do, this is an upgrade for the halogen variants! (:
What hid kit best matches the led strip?
Finally someone else is trying to do the same!!!!! This is driving me crazy!!!! If you find an answer please let me know cmfeliciano89@gmail.com
How do I adjust the headlights..one of the headlights beams way lower than the other and I can't get a direct answer from anyone how to fix this
Hey Ryan! We made a video that will help you out with this!

I need to bring you guys my 19 Charger where you can do some videos with it!
That sounds like a good time!
Landon SRT I’ll bring my Challenger too.
Can u guys do a 2007 dodge durango
Those trucks are similar to the 07 Ram trucks of the same generation. The GTR Lighting Ultra 2 and the SV4 perform pretty well!
@@HeadlightRevolution ok thanks for ur help :)
Will stick to stock for now
Sounds good, let us know if you change your mind!
What HID package would u recommend for a 16 Durango
Hey Luis, It depends on the trim level of your Durango and what style headlight you have. For the best recommendation, Send an email to Sales@HeadlightRevolution.com and we'll get you taken care of. -Chris W
It’s a limited with halogen projectors
Can’t get dust cover on
It can be tricky but it is possible.
Headlight Revolution got it.. few cuts later. Light is amazing. 👍🏽👍🏽
I'm here because I wanted to be lazy but cannot a mf told me $179 to replace the bulbs
This was at pep boys I did it myself after watching this.
Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns, have a good one!
@@HeadlightRevolution I was able to get everything to work as I used to work for an automotive lighting company in New Orleans. I'm more disappointed that I called to add additional products to my order and was informed I couldn't add on and had to pay shipping twice. Also, my initial order is being spliy-shipped since the T10s are on backorder.
That is a huge bummer my man, if you email in to us and explain that situation, I am sure there is something we can do about that second shipping charge as long as it isnt expedited shipping! Sales@HeadlightRevolution.com
@@HeadlightRevolution I emailed on sunday and haven't heard back yet. I called on monday and was informed I was out of luck. Jonalesich@gmail.com
Well, I wasn't able to do anything about combining those orders, as they all shipped out to you now! I di refund the shipping on that first order back to you, and you should see that $14.48 back on your card within 1-3 business days! As for your email, we never received an email from the email address you supplied to me, so I am not sure what happened there. If you need anything else let us know and we will be happy to help!
Soooo what LED bulb would you install if this was your 2017 dodge durango. You really didn't say what LED you found to be the best
S-V.4! Chris Nelson owned a Durango for some time, and he had the S-V.4's installed the whole time he owned it.

you guys never made a video on the best HIDs for this vehicle 😒

Morimoto needs to use common sense and not have their h.i.d. bulbs have the fuse strip thing hanging down on the bottom of the bulb once mounted. It causes a huge dark line right down the middle of the light. Why not make it face the side so its not visible on the beam pattern? Ive tried over 10 led/hid bulbs on 2018 sportage base and none work!
the igniter? that is on all hid bulbs..
Miguel is correct, The H11A/H11B bulbs correct this issue! Thanks for watching.
Replaced stock HID with Osram Night Breaker Laser D3S, much brighter, couldn't be happier, just check out my channel...
will these in the fog light option fry if you get in high water?
We wouldn't recommend using a bulb that has a cooling fan on the back if you're going to be driving in water. We would recommend the GTR CSP mini because that bulb does not require a cooling fan on the back.
