There used to many matrimonial alliances between royals ruling the different states for their mutual benefits and power sharing. It is the thing way above the commoners who would never understand it.
Even Jodha-Akbar story has been proved fake with historical evidences. But still why only make propaganda against Rajputs ?
It is the jealousy and hatred against the Rajput community by others that has led them to propagate this propaganda & defame Rajuts.
