The chills I get from this. Man oh man this is a FANTASTIC cover! Some of these made me so emotional. Alabama was a huge part of childhood. SO many memories attached to their music.
Brought back so many of my early memories of my father who started driver 18 wheelers when i was 6. He passed in 2012, but drove from age 26 to age 71. Not that our family would have sung this together, but whe it came out, my father loved it. He loved Alabama's music.
What an honor it must've been to not only play this song for Alabama, but to absolutely do every inch of it justice. I haven't listened to music OD lately, but they 100% did their thing with this cover.
I love how Old Dominion and the rest of the artists stayed as close to the original version of their respective covers as possible. There was no need to try and put their own spin on classics and they didn't. Much respect.
Fantastic! My sister and I would sing this when my dad was alive, we still do while looking up at the sky and say daddy this is for you. Our daddy was OTR trucker our entire life. We cry now singing this song, cause we miss him so much.
I'm sorry for ya'lls lose . I'm a OTR Truck Driver myself for quite a long time, it's hard being away from home, but we do it to put food on the table and clothes on our families backs, plus paying the bills. The hardest part of our job is leaving the driveway of our home! It brings tears to my eyes along with my loving wife's eyes as well! God bless you and you're sister, may our God always guide you and keep you!
I lost my dad in 2023 after him driving 33 years over the road he died from kidney failure and heart attack and he's CB handle was bartender so if there's any truckers I would really love for you to go on the CB and give him one last roll call
Although my daddy was in the merchant marine a good deal of my childhood, his love was driving trucks! When he’d get home, he’d get a semi, and start hauling! Mama sold more trucks after he went back to sea! One of my brothers is still driving after 50 years! We always missed him when he was gone, but loved his coming back! Both professions are lonely lives, but daddy did what was necessary to take care of us the best way he knew how. God bless Alabama!
I’ve heard this song covered so many times that when they start the song the first thought in my head is “oh no don’t do it”……with that being said Old Dominion absolutely nailed this cover!! What a great job!
My Daddy was a Truck Driver we would play this when he was out of Town, he has since passed and we played this at his Funeral. Love my Daddy & Alabama. The tears just flow when I hear this song. Thank you Alabama ❤
I'm sorry for you're loss . I'm a Truck driver as well been doing it for around 20 years, the hardest part of our job is leaving our drive way! May God continue to bless you my wonderful sister in Christ Jesus.
What a cover song should be.... I can never hear this song and not tear up. Growing up in the 80s, my dad was gone a lot for business and the song resonated with me just like it did for Old Dominion.
Excellent cover and tribute. Old Dominion truly did that song justice. When I was young, my father was a long-haul trucker and would, sometimes, be gone for a week or more at the time. This song holds a special place in my heart. Especially since we lost him last Christmas. I can't listen to it without tearing up. Thank you, Alabama, and thank you, Old Dominion.
Everything about this performance is perfect. Their energy - you can really tell these guys appreciate where they are and the song. I've never seen them perform before, but you can tell these guys were having the time of their life performing here. The harmonies - just nailed it, even that final drop down in the harmony on the final 18 wheeler. This song spoke to so many in how they grew up, my dad was a truck driver too, and I'm one of 3 kids, so you know we thought this song was written for us. If ever a cover needed to be released, this is it!!!
Modern day Alabama. They're hot some of the very best songwriters in Nashville, and from what I've personally seen live can pull off anything at anytime.
My daddy drove an 18 wheeler but did local runs. I remember many times my mom playing this song when it got late and he wasnt home yet. She loved Alabama but this song always hit different. Mommy is gone, but daddy is still here, this hits hard
I can't get enough of them singing this song. Makes me want to get on the road and pass all those wonderful truck drivers thanking them all for what they do for us.
God Bless you and you're wonderful family. I'm a Truck Driver myself, have been for 20 years, thank you for appreciating us Drivers. Our Families and the Great AMERICAN PEOPLE is who we drive for, and is the reason we drive. Thank you mam for your kind words
Matt Ramsey has one of the best voices in music, and not just country music. The band's harmonies are excellent as usual but Whit Sellers drumming is what makes this song come alive IMO.
Ol Dominion did Perfection on the Alabama song Eighteen Wheeler as Alabama was my Mother's Favorite Country Band when she was Alive as she passed away in 2017 as OD sounded just like them on their cover😊 of the Song 🎵
In 1985ish, i was 5 years old, my moms date canceled on her so the 1st concert i ever went to was Alabama and Lee Greenwood. Been my favorite band ever since. Love Alabama like family.
Brother, after 28 years I absolutely love hearing those turbos and breathers of a KW with a 3406C cat purring in the cool mornings with no sunlight yet. Just open road and that feeling
This was a song we sung in my family as well, because my dad drove a truck hauling liquid nitrogen cross country for much of my childhood. Always brings a tear to my eye now, remembering a day when there was a major tornado that hit the same town in Oklahoma where he was laying over that day, and we didn't hear from him until the next day because all the phones were out (way before cell phones). I remember that call and my mom crying when he finally got ahold of us. Shout out to all the truckers! Drive safely and get home
Thank you for appreciating us Truck Driver's, I've been doing it for a little over 20 years now, it's not a job to me , but an enjoyment. God Bless you and you're wonderful family my friend.
This is my 2nd favorite Alabama song!!!! Just wanted 2 say Thank You to Alabama for the songs and the memories!!!!! My Momma passed in 2017 and she loved Alabama! Whenever I hear any of their oldies but goodies I always think of her!!! I love Old Dominion!!! Great tribute and as my Mom would've said Awesome!!!
KILLED IT! I remember holding the CD in my hand as early as 3 years old and this being my absolute favorite song on it. THANKS dad for the upbringing on some of the best music to ever come out.
My son, who has Autism, absolutely LOVES Alabama! I have their Greatest Hits CD in my truck and my is the DJ 😊 He knows every song, in order, and says "play #4, #9, #17...Thank you, ALABAMA, for bringing the gift of your music to this boy ❤
Nothing wrong with your son's music taste. I had all their cassette tapes growing up, I have no idea what happened to them, probably lost between all the moves growing up.
My gosh I'm at a loose of words of what wonderful sounds came from y'all on this great song . Perfect Alabama is the first band that I became a big fan of when me and my sister was kids. We knew all their songs by heart but this one was very special. Our daddy back in the day was a bull hauler and was gone a lot and momma stayed at home with us and kept it together. I remember us singing this song a lot and it just brought peace over me. Wonderful tribute❤
As A Security Guard For A Long Time, Working Around Truck Drivers, I See The Pain & Joy In Their Faces As They Leave & Come Back Into My Yard. This Song Lifts Their Spirits Whenever I Tell Them About It💞
Awesome! My family relates to this song as well. Our Dad was a truck driver. We played it at his funeral. Because no matter what you got to stick together and ROLL ON!
In the early 80's I went to get tickets left home at 4 a.m. and was still about 10 people ahead of me yet the only thing I could get was nosebleed sections. Still the best ALABAMA. 😊 Thank you. O.D.😊😊😊😊
So great. I totally understand my dad worked his ass off for all of us. But he was a great dad and so was mama. Bless them both they in heaven now!! Love them much to much 👢🤠💜☘️
As a kid. My dad drove tractor trailer. Hauled cars for nearly 20 years. There was times he was gone for 3/4 nights. He always told me it is a lonely life. Not to get into trucking. But, I didn't listen. I ended up behind the wheel. I am out for nights at a time and it is a lonely life. I miss my wife and children all the time.
From one Trucker to another my fellow driver, it is most certainly a different lifestyle! No one understands but Truckers, the hardest part of our job is leaving our drive ways, the best part is pulling into them seeing those smiling faces my friend, always remember, it's not a job when we enjoy what we do! God bless you and you're wonderful family my fellow Trucker!
Awesome! Nice to see new bands appreciating the music that got them to where they are today! Let’s hope this continues or the great country music will die if we don’t. Radio stations are pressured to promote the”new” and shove the rest under the carpet.
I’ve never heard of this band before but I’m impressed. Covering Alabama is not easy. They have a sound that is hard to replicate. Randy’s voice especially and the family harmonies. This band is very close to it. Great job.

It’s rare anymore for a tribute song to sound equally as good as the original but this one, this one is goooood.
I thought the same thing watching the show last night.
This tribute song is damn good 👍
The harmony of the chorus actually sounds like a young Alabama when they actually released this song
Agreed
Just like it
I don't always listen to this song, but when I do, so do my neighbors!
Damn fine job honoring these Alabama boys. Damn fine job!
Damn, they killed it! Love Old Dominion.
Old Dominion does remind me of Alabama in a way with their music style. They killed this song.

I don't think anybody could have done a better job or sounded more like Alabama. Good job, Old Dominion! That was perfect!

Sounder just like Alabama lol fantastic cover for that song

Old dominion is pop not country. They are a complete embarrassment and disgrace.
To all the parents doing what they have too for the family. Roll on. 🫡

My husband drove OTR and I was home with four tiny kids. We sang this a lot. I still get emotional when I hear it.
Fantastic! My sister and I would sing this when my dad was alive, we still do while looking up at the sky and say daddy this is for you. Our daddy was OTR trucker our entire life. We cry now singing this song, cause we miss him so much.

They absolutely killed this song no one else could have done it better than Old Dominion I close my eyes and could have swore it was Alabama singing
