Not sure if you can answer my question... I'm a bit "iffy" when it comes to the pre-filter. I'm seeing hair/food floating about in the water and it looks as if it's not being filtered through the pre-filter. Are you noticing any of this? I'm concerned if things aren't going through the pre-filter and the water is just swirling around then they're drinking crap water. Thanks for any input or response. :)
I have not seen food at all. I have seen hair and it's sitting on the pre-filter. But that's the thing - the water has to be sucked from that little tube that goes down into the tank, then through the filter and then it goes onto the tray, so everything being put on that tray is filtered water. I know mine will NOT drink crap water. So if they are drinking from it, I know it's OK. I also have a bowl of water in my master bathroom, which they no longer drink from. YOu could experiment like that.@@tiffanyjo915
@Floppycats Thanks for the input. I'm just wondering if one of the filters isn't filtering properly? It looks as if the long black rectangle filter that is attached to the tray isn't letting the water flow through ( if that makes any sense ). The small food particles I think is probably from the one cat dipping his paw into the water to drink. They love the fountain, but my concern is bacteria if that filter isn't working properly. :(
Here's what Petlibro said when I forwarded your comment: "The water in the water tray is supposed to flow through the prefilter (or it will overflow). When water flows through the prefilter, most of the hair/food will be stopped by the prefilter, and the water in the water tank will be further filtered by the ultrafilter to ensure that the water coming out from the water outlet is clean.
However, please kindly understand that since the pet will drink from the water tray, it is normal that there is hair/food on the water tray. To keep the water clean, it is important to clean the water tank and replace the filter regularly."@@tiffanyjo915

I bought this fountain, it broke within 3 months. However, Petlibro did live up to the warranty and is issuing a warranty. The other Petlibro fountains I've bought have worked without issue.
Yes, I am sorry - mine crapped out about 6 months after I got it. They are working on improving it. I hope they do because I totally loved it until it crapped out
Charlie is actually drinking from it on camera! I’m seriously considering getting this fountain. I’m using the same bottled water and it’s nice that it’s getting filtered. It’s supposedly a very good filtration system
I get concerned about the places I can’t clean. Every plastic part we have ever had on a fountain grows pink slime. Idk if it’s our water where I am but it happens even with daily cleaning.
i think they designed it so you don't have to worry about that. but you can always write them and ask. you might prefer this fountain that we reviewed because you can clean every part - ua-cam.com/video/lgLO0DGoOFo/v-deo.html
Ive been looking into a new water fountain for a while. I love all the information you've provided with this video. I wasn't sure how easy this may be to pull apart. I have 4 ferrets, and so far, every fountain I've been tired they have thrown. I currently have the dockstream, and luckily, the latches on the tank help prevent a large water dump, but they like to pull it off of the power dock. Thanks in advance!
Hi. I watched your video and I was curious, obviously other fountains’ filter and pumps and the rubber tube on this one gets slimy and needs to be cleaned regularly. My only concern with this is the internal piping that takes the water from the rubber tube to the filter, and then takes the water from the filter to the spout, has water running though it just as the rubber tube does. They’re saying that you don’t need to clean these at all? How do you prevent those pipes/tubes from getting slimy, bacteria buildup etc? Also did you look at their dock stream wireless at all? I considered this one except I don’t like that only the tray is stainless steel. The rest of the reservoir is plastic.
Others asked these things. I asked PETLIBRO and they said: "One of the design goals of this Glacier water fountain is to reduce the maintenance burden, therefore we minimize the parts to be cleaned. As a result, the filter and pump of the Glacier water fountain are located in the black filtration unit, they are designed to be separated from the water tank and there is no need to clean them. As long as follow the instruction video to clean the water fountain and replace the filter/prefilter regularly, the Glacier water fountain can work properly.
Please allow me to introduce the working feature of the pump and the filter as below: 1. The pump of the Glacier water fountain is a vacuum self-priming pump. Water will flow through the inside of the pump and the filter, in this way, both the pump and the filter are not soaked in water, therefore there is no need to clean them. 2. Before the water reaches the water pump and filter, it is filtered by the prefilter (under the water tray) and the mesh filter in front of the water pipe. The mesh filter in front of the water pipe filters particles with a diameter of more than 0.18mm. Therefore, there is no accumulation of large particles of impurities in the water pump, and other impurities can flow smoothly through the pump to reach the ultrafilter. 3. The ultrafilter is located at the end of the filtration system and intercepts 0.1um particles to ensure that the water coming out of the water outlet is clean. In addition, since the outer shell of the filter does not immerse in the water, there is no need to clean the filter and only needs to be replaced regularly.

Thanks for the review, I bought one after watching it. The fountain seems well built, the pump is a bit loud compared to other fountains. The filter pack costs $20 and lasts for 2 months. Seems overpriced for what it is.
You're welcome. Keep an eye on it, mine failed after about 7-8 months and others have reported theirs have too. Petlibro is honoring their warranty on them, so be sure to keep your receipt, etc. I hope it doesn't fail for you because I loved, loved it. They are working on improving it, so maybe they will figure out what went wrong. I did buy their filters on sale, which helps that $20 charge.
Just in case anyone is having trouble getting those filters out, PetLibro suggested using a spoon to pry it out. That worked awesome for me. Otherwise I couldn’t get it out. 😂
I think so - if it continues to work. The one I had stopped working after 6 months. It was really unfortunate because I loved this fountain. We got a cooler one to review though - and I like that it gives my cat fresh water for 10 days or more. ua-cam.com/video/lgLO0DGoOFo/v-deo.html

How do you clean the areas in the black unit? I get that the pump doesn’t need to be cleaned but it looks like there’s tunnels to the filter and up to the stainless steel nozzle part that do touch water and seem impossible to clean?

Wait, I am wondering something - what's the water level in the tank? I think that did happen when my water level was too low in the tank. Be sure to clean it thoroughly every week too =)
They messed up on the production of this product. So close to perfect. First, the moving water is what draws the cat to drink the water. If they don't walk passed it, it won't run often. 1 time an hour is not good enough to draw them to the water IMO. . 2) The part where the water is should have stainless steel parts but instead they are plastic. I love the stainless parts and it's damn near perfect. I didn't see if the plug is removable from the pump part? If not that might be the 3rd bad thing about it. I use the petkit one and that is far from perfect too but the base stays plugged in and you can easily bring the water bowl over to the sink and clean the parts. Unfortunately none of these companies are making water bowls right. They are definitely getting better though.
Do you mean the small piece of plastic that holds the pre-filter shouldn't be plastic? Because the rest are stainless steel. Yes, the AC adapter removes from the filter/motor part, so entirely detachable from the unit.

I just got mine and did everything you said and I can’t even get it to turn on. It’s brand new. What do I do
Have you held down the power button? It takes like 3 seconds. If it’s still not working - help@petlibro.com or return to where you bought it
The red light came on and water won’t flow any suggestions?
Yes, I have never had that happen, so I would reach out to help@petlibro.com and ask. Would be curious what they say, if you're game to share.
Ok thank you!
You're welcome =)@@odbwubanger
Hi Michael, I am reviewing a new product - wanted to know your thoughts - ua-cam.com/video/HGSEcQqQY2g/v-deo.html
Doesnt look like you can clean out the pump and other interior water channels. That's going to get nasty over time.

Hi, I am reviewing a new product - wanted to know your thoughts - ua-cam.com/video/HGSEcQqQY2g/v-deo.html
That's a lot of maintenance.
This fountain? Not at all. The only problem is that it stopped working after 6 months. So that made it very low maintenance. I’m reviewing another now that’s far more maintenance.
