EA is too possessed by greed to realise that if they made a better product they would be making way more money. But that would require more employees that actually know how to code and more work, and apart from being the epitome of greed they are also lazy af. So, I doubt they are listening to anything, this sounds more like PR move, I bet they are deaf as well.
This just confirms they gutted their quality control and neglected it for YEARS. "We're assembling a team" YOU MEAN REBUILDING YOUR TEAM AFTER GUTTING IT FOR INVESTOR PROFITS YOU FIENDS.

Funnily, I just watched a video that explains why video game companies do this, even on record-breaking years! The video is called "The Video Game Industry is NOT Collapsing. A Lawyer Explains." - the channel name is Moon Channel (you can't use links in comments or you get flagged as a bot or something, or I'd link it). But this video does a GREAT job of explaining the scummy hiring and firing process - companies purposefully overhire, then purposefully fire people in cycles... it's worth the listen!
That's both a yes and a no. See they have in their "terms and conditions" that all dlc is ONLY tested with BASEGAME, no other dlc. So they don't/didn't need a bigger team to do more testing because they only needed to make sure it worked with basegame for release, because its in their t&c. When people complained they said "What? but its in our terms!" and continued on their merry way. Now enough people are complaining loudly enough that they are saying they'll do more. We'll see.

You can't let them know if the reporting area isn't working right. That is one area that needs fixing right away. Effective communication is needed to make your customers happy. It comes back to the fact that they don't care.

It takes 12 minutes to load on a console. And before some EA stan comes in and blames it all on CC, console players cannot install CC. It's just a bloody mess of a shallow game.
It runs pretty well on my shitty laptop 🤷♀️

@@fukhyu3330 well the game has fps drop issues, simulation lag, crashes a lot (especially for console players) and A LOT of the packs are buggy and don’t work properly. These are issues that even people with powerful gaming computers are experiencing.
@@fukhyu3330but I bet that you don’t have the graphics ultra high. My shitty pc also runs it but graphics aren’t the best and I still struggle with crashes, lags, and freezes. Also, packs like My Wedding Stories don’t work well, like at all

Still think the "apology" is smoke and mirrors. "Look! Were listening," followed by continuing doing what EA always does. Game has been out 10 years. Too little, too late for me. I hope they do keep their promises for those who haven't given up on them.
They'll patch a thing here or there, break something else and release another pack or kit. Dishonest GC's will hype up the patch, get people excited and when you play it for yourself, you'll realize it's the same if not worse garbage than before.
Worse yet. They never fix anything truelly important like autonomy. Instead they fix like sims mopping puddles while your game is barely running. Meanwhile you download GB of mods and find the perfect combination of stuff actually working and making sense and then EA will patch it and eff it all up. This is not good. This just means they will release boring,broken shit so then they can fix one thing break 4 and break the mods that kept your game together. Not the first time they made an announcement that was either bs or made stuff worse. I wish they just made things work from the beginning and hired people with sense and imagination.
Yeeeaaa this is when i want to remind people that “actions speak louder than words”, unfortunately. They can say what they want but until there’s proven results, im still given up on sims 4. I keep staying up to date in case they do decide to actually fix their game, but so far they haven’t so i for me it remains untouched for months by now

The pathetic part is, if you know anything about modding the game you know how insanely easy the majority of these "fixes" they're rolling out are. Like waffles being on the restaurant menus and campfires causing less fires takes literal seconds to "fix". They should've done this stuff years ago, and they're most likely only finally doing these simple fixes now to pad the list to make it look like they're doing more than they're actually doing.
Exactly modders usually make a nod to fix the issues before the week is out. So them taking 10 years is insane

That would honestly probably be the best route for them at this point; gives credit to the people that have been doing the work to make their games playable, helps players find the right fixes, and saves them the “labor” cost of doing it themselves.

you guys know modding and making a game is different? Which is why, modders can also break your game, such as you download two mods that dont work together or even a modder 'forgot' something is in a pack and you script errors, I am no EA fan but I do dabble in modding and have many game dev fans and its not the same. this is why modders who do switch to game making, find out the hard way that its not as easy as EA has made it to mod their game.

this seems like a very childish mindset tbh, so lets say sims 4 turns into a fantastic game you will rally behind everyone not even trying it again? because why? they may stop updating? this makes no sense, the amount of people like you make me look like a sims 4 fan when i am not, I havent touched the game in like 2 years but I at least have some faith that the game could turn great if they try, will they? time will tell but mindsets like this isnt helpfull for this or even daily life.
So some years ago, like in the first couple years of Sims 4, I actually did submit a report on Answers HQ and I got through the whole form and I did get a response. They said my problem was a mod. I said I don't have any mods, which I didn't. They responded again saying it was a mod. I responded, how could it be a mod when I have no mods? No further response. Lesson learned, didn't submit a report again. For a while I kept getting others doing the "me too" button. Many years later it was on one of the laundry list fixes. How could that be? It was a mod! That I didn't have. Again, lesson learned.
There was also the incident where the rocket ship was glitched and the owner of the ship couldn't build it, they could build on it after it was started but couldn't do the initial build. A modder created a fix and the post referred people to that fix instead of them fixing it!!! Again, lesson learned. People have stopped going to them to fix things because they DON'T.

I had the same issue - I was actually voice to voice with someone after packs I had purchased had disappeared. He kept saying "turn off your Mods" and i was actually screaming at him that I don't have any mods. CLEARLY reading from a script and actually had NO CLIE what the issue was or how to fix it. I have played the Sims since it first came out - I am Deeply regretting that I donated those disks long ago
@@lisabrown8889 I did the voice to voice call ONCE and only once. I'm talking to him and just so I can know how "in game" I can talk I ask him if he's played it and he said all the time. I'm like ok and I start "So you know the lot where this happens with these people and expansion blank does this? THATS where the problem is" He had no clue. My problem was why lie? I don't need a simmer to fix my problem, I needed someone to report the issue to.
(gasps) you donated your disks? Oh, I'm so sorry. Not bragging but I have all my disks from Sims 1 basegame onward, except for 4 which was total downloads and no loss. At this point, I have backups of my backups of all my saves from all my games. So so so, sorry.
Appart from the "normal" bugs I have, a new one yesterday: i present to you, the double musics ! The loading music doesn't stop once you play and overlap with the buy mode. Then, BOTH of the music plays in live mode. GORGEOUS!

Answers HQ is nothing more than a virtual empty paper bag to scream into when you get angry.
They also forget the Grow together is way too annoying, sims won't do anything or stop what they're doing just to "watch the infant" or "watch baby" and doing nothing. Queues don't work. You ask them to stop an interaction and they keep doing it anyway, even when it's being crossed or it disappear from the queue (resetting sim is needed and sometimes the sim is glitched out that doesn't move... one basically needs to "travel" elsewhere to unglitch the sim).
I think I had the same issue with the Answering HQ feature... but EA won't be the 1st. I had the automatically response of "we will see the issue in the next 72hrs" and checked and was marked as solved, because of that automatic email (I cannot remember what company was). I think even if we sent the issues and address them, some companies will go around it. Other companies don't have a form right away and one needs to spend like 30 minutes going in circles, until finally find it and then cannot submit anything, because your issue is not listed or something. The frustration... I might start sending the Answering HQ every single time I found something. Thank goodness I record and post them, so I have the evidence.
it’s not even because of growing together. infants in base game are so buggy. My babies are actively dying and when I try to get their parents to look after them, they just would rather dance or do something extremely stupid. It’s funny now that I’m talking about it, but extremely frustrating during gameplay.
Many games now want players to do their work for them. You report a bug and get: send us pictures. You send the pictures and they say: send a video.
WHY??? That's YOUR job, so figure it out.

Facts sims 4 could be so good in so many ways but they are not listening to their players they are just pushing stuff out to get money and it's catching up to them...but tbh...its cause of competition so the sorry is not for us it's cause now competition is on the rise cause without it they would still ignore us

@@Ilivepuppyswdym paralives went the sims 4 route? its open world, way more customizable, more realistic, and a completely different art and music style than the sims 4. its more comparable to the sims 3 but its still so different. im not saying paralives will be great (because we have no idea), but it will be nothing like the sims 4.

Did they ever fix the roommate bug that came with University? They wouldn't take care of their own needs for no reason and then angrily move out. I reported it but years later it still wasn't fixed. That's the one that made me rage quit and never look back.

Oh, that’s what that is! I was wondering why all my sims roommates were caonstantly smelly and in a bad mood. I’m a new player so I thought EA did that on purpose so I don’t feel bad when I can’t manage all the needs and my sims homework 😂
It took them a long time to finally acknowledge that the Game has been facing numerous issues over the years, and that people weren't just complaining for no reason. I remember saying that the only thing that could reignite my interest in the game was if they focused on fixing bugs instead of releasing new content. But, of course, EA's greed would prevents that from happening. It's still good to hear that they now have a dedicated team, but the real test will be if they actually follow through on their promise. I'm not going to pretend that it's enough to forgive them for the state of the game, though. This should have been addressed much sooner.
Really hope they fix the cottage living competitions! Not only did my cow place 3rd in a TWO COW COMPETITION, they also stole her and never returned her to inventory. 🙂🙂

I work in tech as kinda like a customer journey analyst, and I read feedback from people and it's one of my favourite parts of the job. Usually what happens is we'll read/analyse them all and topicalise them then prioritize them against other issues. Also developers in the world I live in are temp/contracted staff who come in and do their fix then roll off. But I'd have thought a gaming team would have full time developers. I'd have a whale of a time being a customer journey analyst and experience designer for the Sims lmao 😅
But their prioritisation seems to be "do the small quick pieces keep them happy"
Also work in tech but as a artist and yes our team is super small contractors/vendors for a huge company we only fix hot fixes that are called out on Reddit and get a lot of views. The QA Fix are pitted against the new drops for priority and we don’t even have a team to work on older bug fixes and requests.
They don’t have the bandwidth to create a new pipeline for old bug fixes when all the teams are focused on, creating, fixing and QA-ing new releases 😅As a Simmer I’m disappointed but as an artist who’s worked with big corporations I’m not surprised.
I don't trust this statement, and I find it hard to believe someone actually does, like how naive can someone be. The Sims Team is like a toxic boyfriend (that should be your ex at this point), who ruins every special occasion by doing something disappointing and then tells you he's not going to do it again. Some of us broke up with that ex already....
Simmers are delusional if they think this will actually mean anything....

I hate sims 4, never play it I switched to sims 3 the better game and even I am not this close minded, tbh I always said this "sims 4 can be a great game, if they tried" if they truly are trying, than I feel sims 4 can turn into a better game, will I play it again? maybe in a couple years if its still being made (guessing it will) and an ep catches my attention and than I will give them a go again

Yeah anyone who believes them is a fool. Remember when they said they’d refresh townies? Or make more bunk beds for the existing single beds. Likes and dislikes for old packs. Aspirations. Pack refreshes? Y’all remember them saying kits wouldn’t effect stuff pack releases.
All of that. As soon as I saw the kits, it was an immediate knowing that it was the priority. $5 kit seems a lot less versus a $40 pack. Alas, it's more money from the amount that could be bought

I don't think this is something that can be dissolved.. no one is going to support their weird kits , most comments on anything thats promoted is shut down. Were upset and we want them to fix our game. I love that more people are supporting this. I don't give af about new hair swatches or videos talking about how excited they are for the "romance expansion pack" .. I want all of our influencers to voice this concern. I really would like them to fix the "animals dont age" setting. It literally does nothing. All my cute baby chickens all fricking die, and it's so upsetting.
The competing simulation games like Life By You are getting closer to release and EA is starting to worry that our dollars are going to go to the competitors and not to them.
Did everyone miss the life by you indefinite delay news or something??? Bc people keep bringing it up but the publisher literally just said they have delayed the EA until further notice with no new date given. Did something happen in the last 24 hours for them to walk back that announcement????
@@vegasa2067The hirings started months ago. Which is when it still looked like life by you was getting released. These decisions are not made in real time.
Small note on "technical debt" from a Computer Person:
it's not so much referring to the employees being paid to fix the game post release , but rather decisions they made now coming back to bite them in the bum. For example, they chose to not have an open world and that became the basis for future decisions. Since so many aspects of the game are built with a closed world in mind, this issue has accumulated a "debt", in that it gets harder and harder to "repay" (=put an open world into the game).
It's like building a lil cabin onto some sand and then over time just adding more and more levels to it, hastily patching as you go. At some point it just becomes an absolute pain to add or fix anything in this mess.
I haven’t played sims 4 since Christmas it pissed me off too much, I play sims 2 mostly now and I really don’t understand how a game made in the early 2000s on an old ass computer runs better than a 2010s game on a ps5

I have had the issues with the Henford On Bagley fairs. Whenever I join with either a chicken, eggs, or whatever product/animal, they DISAPPEAR after the fair is over. They are not in my inventory of my sims and not in my family inventory either!
I had obsedian milk being thrown into oblivion that way😢😢
I've been experiencing this too. I lost a whole cow I painstakingly made my sim befriend after losing crops, ingredients, milk, and other items I didn't really care about. I also "won" several fairs but get "participation" instead.
Not to mention that I don't get the fairs until 2pm or 7pm when they should be closed then have to wait until 12am to get rewards.
And my comment to this was......this isn't something that was being done before?! Why the f not?!
Probably will just result in nuked mods and new, different bugs.
Tbh even if they suddenely decided to literally fix every broken pack, especially dine out and the wedding pack it would still likely be too little too late for some of us. I've not spent a penny on any Sims 4 or EA games in since cottage living and I don't think I'll be easily persuaded back.

The island living issue they are fixing has been there since island living launched. My mermaid sim has been stuck on the career task since I got the game. I just looked it up.. it's been out for almost 5 years.. why I've stopped buying packs and playing sims basically all together and I've been playing since the original sims.
I noticed aside from the major issues in Dine Out and For Rent...My Wedding Stories wasn't even mentioned.

I would like to believe that I have helped with them addressing this because when they gave me a survey about if I liked how the game started up I wrote a long rant about how the should fix their broken game and stop being greedy 🤭
Omg I sent a bug report about invisible frogs in my game, screenshot et. I found out it was bc I was running on laptop mode. Next fix included frog hot pot and a frog build item. Here’s my opinion. Your other video really opened my eyes. The whole thing about spaghetti coding. I feel like actually no matter how much time they put into a pack, it’s going to have bugs because of how many packs there are and continue to be. Sims 4 will never be any different with new packs.
Honestly just waiting for inzoi at this point. The inzoi team seems to really care about our wishes and concerns and they’re super active in the discord which is just awesome and makes things so much easier instead of whatever stupid HQ website thing the Sims has.

My favorite bug is sometimes the randomization will give me stuff from other packs. Like I have a pair of heels with wooden detail, and one sim has an aspiration that's not in the menu, and one rando had an extra trait. I only have the packs that were given away for free. So these become that sim's personality.
For Gallery fixes, I hope they make it so filtering by pack ACTUALLY works.
Because the way it is now, if you only have Seasons and try to filter it out by pack, you'll get every build that has Seasons in it, still including builds using packs that you DON'T have.
It's pretty much useless as someone who only has a couple packs, so I can only ever get base game stuff off the Gallery. 😭

They need to watch popular simmers playing the game and EA would see all the problems. I can't remember the last time I watched James Turner, Dr Gluon, or Lilsimmsie without SOMETHING lagging, bugging out, or making their games crash.
I remember having the swimming laps in the ground issue in Sims 3 already and they never fixed it, talk about a long time 😭😭😭

Yeah, you're right about players not reporting all issues that the game has. The other day, I just realized that I only report when the issue is game breaking because I already got used to workaround most bugs or I wouldn't be able to play the game.
I tried posting a new one the other day after creating a wonderful get to work store for one of my Sims. Put all the price tags on, set my store markup and even had my sims run an advertisement to entice customers. Opened shop and ??? Nothing happened, no townies, no celebrities, no solicitors or kleptomaniacs came into the shop. They kept spawning on the lot then disappearing. I've tried loading back in on different days just in case it was a temporary glitch but apparently retail shops on ps4 console are just broken? Along with their website that rejected my attempt to alert the sims' team that Get to Work isn't working.🤦
My first thought was that sales must be down. Dine out has so much more issues than wanting to add waffles or menu items-- personally I would for dine out love to tell my waiter/chef to get back to work when my sim has been waiting for food for 6 hrs because the staff decided to stop working. Or to be able to tell my customers to sit the F down when I'm running a restaurant so they won't keep getting angry that their food isn't being delivered to the table.

The Sims 4 game wasn't so much broken from the start as it was more released too soon and promoted as a single player mode game when the engine/coding was created and intended to be used for a multi-player online game.
Also, this game should have been abandoned 5 years ago and we should be have been onto Sims 5 by now. The prior Sims games lasted 4 to 5 years tops, where this one is going on 10 years and counting, with more bugs, glitches, and even worse shallow gameplay.
What were they doing for 10 years to where they STILL aren't ready for the next Sims game? The Sims 4 is the WORST EXECUTED GAME in the Sims franchise....SMH!!!!
something about the "core game" term tells me they will actually fix random bugs from the base games, kits, basically bugs we didnt even get to experience because we would not have played that far, anything easy, and things like my wedding stories will remain unplayable because the code has rotted just that badly.
i have the merging household issue a lot. glad theyre trying to fix that. and it was annoying that my teen's grades never improved. but sooo many other changes need to be made.
Every sim survey i always give feedback. Where text is an option i always add, "just please fix the game "

I went into the Microsoft store recently and saw the ratings on sims 4 was at 3 stars with many reviews saying the game was broken in so many ways. Just recently I went to make a new save and couldn't zoom in or out in CAS I could rotate my Sim but not zoom in or out on their face. I'll believe these statements when I see results
I empathize so much with your constant need to clarify that you are not toxically positive about a multi-billion dollar corporation. Toxic positivity is just the beginning with EA & their purchased devotees (i.e., *some* Creator Network simmers). There is also such thing as "Performative Helplessness" or "Weaponized Helplessness" that EA certainly doesn't mind leaning into, whether that leaning be intentional or accidental--same effect. I just want you to be reminded that most of us silent majority (yes, I see the irony in the fact that this comment doesn't qualify as silent, but I digress) think it's completely relevant & reasonable for any paying customer such as yourself to wish more of EA. Sure, you could leave the profession, but most all criticism you've provided has been fair, balanced, and constructive. I imagine you're like most of us--you'd be willing (and are secretly sometimes rooting for) other competitors to emerge within the Sim arena, yet Sims 1-4 have been a game you love, and still love. It's okay to wish more of and from things/people/companies we love and have loved. You don't hate the Sims, because the antithesis of love is not hate, it's negligence/ambivalence/apathy.

Yeah, I finally felt the oomf after many months to come back and build a home, was really focused and determined about it too, only for the game to freeze and throw away all my progress after half an hour. Back to not bothering instantly.
6 years to finally fix something is sooo sims 4. Happy they’ve acknowledged it but will it be interesting to see if anything comes from this, knowing them, probably not 😅
They've probably seen how excited people are about Life by you, Paralives and Inzoi. When the UA-cam simmer channels like yours and James Turner visibly show interest in those simulators, EA must know they're in trouble.

My game just crashes and crashes. I have an Alienware computer so its quite frustrating. This just recently started happening and that damn pop up they put up in the main screen makes the game lag and crash when I "X" it out. Time will tell with these fools...
After the latest patch today all my paintings by reference and many photographs which I had throughout builds and museums in my legacy save file are ALL black. And if I try to re place the builds from the gallery they still place with the paintings black. I am so sick of them supposedly doing patches to fix the game and just making things worse. And I do not use ANY mods or cc and never have
ever since the start of the year, my dead sims appear alive in the genealogy tree & the relationship tabs, it bugged out after a certain update and never got fixed 😭 it messes up my legacy family treeee
I lost interest in The Sims franchise when they launched Sims 3, as they ignored legitimate complaints from buyers. My respect for them vanished when they started nickel-and-diming their consumers and neglected to fix bugs that were causing significant issues with people's PC's. The Sims team treats their consumer base poorly, allowing Sim Gurus to act unprofessionally on social media and deleting dissenting comments on their official forums. As a result, I left the community entirely, and only started to get interested in the community recently because of the competitors. The only reason they are addressing these issues now is because they finally face competition from other companies releasing similar games. EA has always been focused on profit over anything else, and I honestly wish Will Wright had never sold the game to them.
I stopped playing sims years ago, but I still like to watch Satch roast EA and tells it like it is. 😂
Never forget the paying customer ultimately has the power. If we keep accepting garbage they'll keep selling it. Speak with your wallet and force them to change.

And OMG the names of the lots is sooo ridiculous. I literally named a sushi restaurant I built after the Nigiri sushi dish THEY HAVE IN THE GAME and got the warning I couldn't save it bc of the name. Like, dummies, this is literally a word in the game YOU PUT IN THERE. 🤣
I hope this also fixes the etermal loading screen problem, Im tired of my sims turning into hermits because I don't want to sit through a 10 minute seaquence of a twirling plastic rhombus
my theory is that they're trying to squeeze as much money as they can out of us, so they've been frantically pushing out empty/broken packs. but they're realizing that the community aren't buying the packs as much anymore. so they know now that they have to fix the game or they're gonna stop getting our money.
They might not actually be interested in fixing the bugs, they might be just saying they are to get more sales.

I havent bought a pack since growing together - the game has become too bloated and complicated - it literally took up all of my computer’s memory. They really should work on making the existing game BETTER, not bigger - make the existing game play more fun, not endlessly disappointing (despite all the promises their advertisements make).
Yeah, I stopped buying packs a year or so before GT was released because all the updates were breaking the game. Initially just didn't want to be connected to the internet and risk a forced update, later was grateful not to have picked up some of the packs I might have. Just... a shame this game. But it's fascinating to watch let's plays on occassion. The game has had enough updates that it is significantly changed in some ways.
5:19 I have sent in so many formal reports through the EA app and website about not being able to download certain sims packs that I bought and own and never received 1 response from EA. It’s so ridiculous
