Your learn to play video really helped me get Zeds of my shelf, like been sitting there for two years, there's definitely a learning hump to get to level 3 where the good stuff is :) thanks
One thing that I like about this game is the way the Event deck is constructed. It makes for very interesting pacing, with a steady ramping up of difficulty but also devastating low points and thrilling, unlikely saves. Victory Point Games put out three gorgeous productions that all work as co-op but I really feel are best as solo. _Dawn_ _of_ _the_ _Zeds_ and _Nemo's_ _War,_ as you point out, as well as _Darkest_ _Night._ They make for a trio of elegant solo games, each with different designers and very different settings and game mechanics.
I agree it is a great trilogy of fantastic games that play great solo. I need more plays with Darkest Night, I have the most current printing but I want to play it more before I review it on the channel. Thanks for watching!
Sounds like there might be a dog barking in the background or something. I highly recommend using RTX Voice while recording, since it can very effectively remove background noise.
Sad but true story, I use 3 mics, a professional one that I use as my main audio track and 2 back ups just to verify/sync. 3 guesses which one powered off without warning while recording..... I tried to pull it out using Audiodirector from cyberlink but as you heard it was woefully ineffective, ill check out RTX does it work post processing?
@@OffTheShelfGameReviews I think you'd have to use Audacity tricks, but yes. Set the output to your speakers, enable noise removal on the output, max it out, switch your system default speakers to RTX speakers, then record the PC's output while using some other media player to play back the mic recording. You should then be able to effectively re-record with RTX voice enabled, and it will remove the noise. Moving forward, if you use the app for the original recording, then it'll be less work.
@@ITNoetic thanks ill give it a try, the play through video is where the sound died halfway through. If the background is there too I'll try that, thanks again!
I don't mind too much about the RNG in this game only because I feel these types of games need that in order to present a challenge and not have the game feel like a puzzle where the solution always works. That's me though. I've never minded high levels of RNG in games so long as I know I've done the best I could. So yeah, this game is a fit for me XD
I agree, this is one of those games that really needs RNG to keep the feel of what I think a zombie game should have. Each time the dice are rolled the results feel like a scene from a zombie film. Two, ones on a shoot roll? Yup fear and terror gripped the heart of the shooter. So for me it is great but I know some people won't be able to accept it and thought it is worth mentioning since it will make or break your enjoyment of the game. Thanks for watching!%
If only this game was still (was it ever?) only $50! It's MSRP is double that! It looks like an interesting/fun game, but at that price point, I've resisted picking it up.
I've been drawn to this game for years, but am worried because of the luck factor. Playing well and having fun, only to have the rug pulled out from under you by the dice saying "the game is now unwinable for no reason" is enraging. I'd hate to plop down $100 and spend hours learning and trying this game, only to discover the luck factor is so high that I totally lose interest (like I did with the LotR LCC). But I suppose in that worst-case scenario I could sell it off and get most of my money back. And I could quit wondering for years if I would like the game or not. :-)

If there isn't random elements, its a solvable euro. I need randomness.

Babysit Amazon it drops to $60 still once in a while.
