But no, they have to beef over where they live, when they don't even own these things they fighting over. Sad.

There's a lot of people saying that if you live that life, then you get what you deserve, and I get what they're saying but there's no need to be cold. It isn't always as simple as a "choice" - I only got out because I was lucky and had guidance and I knew people that were smarter than anyone I met at uni but they went down that path because they didn't see any other. School failed them, family failed them, community failed them, government failed them (where are the youth centres etc.?) and all they could see was what was around them. Some youngers can still be reached. Many of them don't realise that there's another way so we have to have some sympathy - anyone can be born into it or grow up around it, just as a man can be crowned "king" because he was born into the right family. EDIT: I'm only nearly 6 mins in but based on the police report and the sentence, it seems to me that they just wanted this guy off the street and would've got him for public urination if they could lol. But all of this BS over which side of the estate you're on. I remember it so well and all I wanted to do was get with the girls - wasn't interested in fighting - but you could end up dead just due to walking down the wrong street. I remember people made Piczo sites (anyone remember these?) and they'd put everyone from the area on there, even if you didn't want to be involved. At least the kids who were out and about anyway. The kids with good parents and good home lives stayed well out of it but often do you hear "mistaken identity" or "unintended target" when some poor kid is stabbed or shot just for being from the wrong area even if he stays indoors and plays video games. And the violence is over nothing too. I can understand shooting people over debts, or revenge (even though I don't agree) and obviously territory when it comes to who and where the bits are being sold. But kids now just stab each other over nothing, before they are even involved in any real criminality. It's f*cking stupid and I blame capitalism, neoliberalism, the government which serves this system and it's failure to look after the people that don't make a profit for some rich prick. And don't forget, the big boys in drug dealing are capitalists too, and the higher up the chain you go, the money becomes staggering. It doesn't all get stashed under mattresses - £billions end up in the bank, and it's young kids with no guidance that are the ones risking their lives by selling it for their olders, who have basically groomed them (after being groomed themselves) and the cycle perpetuates. You'll find this in areas which all have something in common: lack of opportunities. Industry was sold off to countries where it was cheaper to pay workers, so generations of people living in the housing estates that were built to house WORKERS, have had no work, or not enough work. But whilst all this was happening, hoods were being flooded with crack and heroin. In some estates, it is the main employer. People don't get how deep this stuff goes. It has gotten so bad that kids in towns and areas that used to be seen as "nice" or "middle class" are stabbing each other over social media beef and all that. What we need is a revolution. Another edit: Big up Scarcity for giving the timeline for all of this mess. I noted that a 2 year old was shot during this beefing, and it reminds me of the poor 9y/o girl that was shot and killed in Liverpool recently (RIP). There was some "academic" and "gang expert" from the Uni of West London trying to claim that this kind of thing was unique to Liverpool, basically because the city has such a large diaspora of Irish-descended families, when clearly it isn't a Liverpool, Irish, black, white or any particular subculture or ethnicity or national background - it is a universal problem. A child in Culiacan in Sinaloa might be groomed by the Cartel, whilst kids in this country might be groomed in NW London, or Liverpool, or Glasgow, or in any other town or city where there are gangs and where there are territorial disputes and where kids see no life outside of what they see around them. The socioeconomic system and the government that upholds it is what fails these people, who start as "youngers" and are lucky to be alive by 35 years old, and even then they will more than likely end up locked up anyway. Final edit: Glad to see that this guy is trying to make something positive out of all this misery. Great work, Scarcity.
I grew in and around gangs multiple friends murdered the rest spending their lives in and out of jail. They made the choice to do the things they did and still do I on the other hand watched them pissing their lives away and chose wisely. At some point in your life you have to take responsibility for yourself and they will have had many chances to walk away the fact is a lot of them enjoy it the fast money designer clothes jewelry cars and women. This guy chose to live the way he has and made the choice to get involved in guns he's had himself and only himself too blame.
@@HYSTERIA-ee2re Except it isn't that simple, and neither your personal experiences nor those of the man here who was locked up can account for the systemic issues that we're talking about. I could use my experiences as an example and I was involved in it all until I was lucky enough to get out, but when I was 14, I didn't know any better. If we call a groomer of children for nonceing a criminal and call for chemical caastration (which I personally do), why aren't we criminalising the gang groomers - the elders - for grooming kinds into carrying bits for them, stashing weapons and eventually dragging them into it by offering shiny gifts and making them feel a part of something, when they come from broken homes and often crave that attention and need people to look up to? Just because you were smart enough to take a different path does mean that everybody can - some people don't even know that there are other paths. If everything came down to choices, we'd all be living in mansions, driving fancy cars, having the perfect wife - having the perfect life. But no such thing exists, does it? And would you say the same to a young boy in rural Nigeria who was kidnapped into Boko Haram and forced to be a child soldier (true story)? Could he have just said "no"? What about the kid in Culiacan who has only turned 13 but has been recruited as a cartel watchman for the Sinaloans, even though he wants to be a veterinarian (true story)? He has a choice that he wants to make, but he hasn't got the opportunities to make that choice. I knew of kids that were smarter than me and who could've gone far, but nobody showed them that. I was lucky that I was able to find guidance and get out, but if I didn't have that guidance, I wouldn't be typing this now. Your simplistic, black and white view of these things is what keeps things the way they are. It is the same line that comes from the mouths of the privileged, silver-spoon rich kids than run the country and tell us all to "pull ourselves up by our bootstraps", even though they wouldn't last five minutes in some of the places that we grew up without their money and their connections. They call the shots, have all the money, own all the big businesses that employ people that do sell their labour power "legitimately", and in the same breath condemn the kids that don't have access to these employers, or who can't get the job because they didn't do well at school because they had to look after their younger siblings and so can't get hired, and then call them scum when they fall into the trap of gangs and drugs that are set purely for people like that kid. It is important to understand drugs in this context too. Those drugs don't end up in hoods by mistake (although plenty of rich people are into class As too): drugs are a multi-billion dollar global industry, with the other two black markets in the top three globally being human beings, and weapons. This country was founded on colonialism and that included the drug trade - read about the Opium Wars. Do you think that the ruling class ever stopped making money from the drug game? Look at the French Connection, where the CIA backed anti-communist thugs who beat up the striking dock workers at Marseille and, for doing so, were allowed to ship heroin into the US, coming from heroin processing plants in Sicily (in which Lucky Luciano had an interest), after opium made it's way from Turkey (at that point). Fast forward to Vietnam: the Golden Triangle - three countries right near the war, where the CIA and the American military turned a blind eye as heroin produced in Burma/Myanmar was flown into America. Fast forward again: in the last 20 years, where has the American military been (this time with the British forces firmly by their side? Afghanistan, and all of those little bits of "food" that are delivered by 13 year old runners on housing estates across the country originate in Afghan poppy farms, where 90% of the world's heroin is now produced. Seeing a pattern? EDIT: I forgot about Bush Sr. and Reagan and their "just say no" campaigns - they were talking about choices. But they were also funding the Contras in Nicaragua to fight the Sandanistas who wanted to make the country a better place, and they were allowing those same Contras to bring drugs into the USA. This led to the crack epidemic which destroyed hoods in the US and made its way here too. Bush Sr. - an old money, big oil guy who ran the CIA, telling people to make a choice, whilst being complicit in the disaster that these drugs were creating, all to "fight communism". The game is rigged and they want it that way: they want the poor to start gangs, shoot and stab each other, fight over who sells the drugs and where, and they want the addicts - when things are like this, the police can play cops and robbers, the solicitors get paid, the screws have plenty of work, the funeral homes, the judges and of course the banks, who receive all that cleaned up drug money (it isn't all stashed under mattresses). What we are talking about is individuals that are trapped in cycles that are related to massive, systemic socioeconomic issues that are global in scale and, in countless circumstances, people get chewed up into these games. Some watch the videos and want the cars and the jewellery and actively look for it out of naivety, some are born into it and know no different, some get into it out of desperation - the list could go on and on, but the fact remains the same, the system that is held up by the ruling class is what is at fault here - they have blood on their hands. But keep talking about choices, read the Daily Mail and have the blinkers on, because that's how they want it.
@@the_local_bigamist sorry mate but there's no way I'm reading all that I read a bit and I do agree the elders need sorting and should be seen for the predators that they are plying kids with money drink drugs and power to do bad shit that they use against them. Yet that doesn't absolve the individual of responsibility from their choices.
@@HYSTERIA-ee2re This is the problem. People wont read and they wont learn. Their opinions will stay the same and nothing will change - this goes for people on each side of these problems. At least read the paragraph about drugs and also the last bits. I'm writing a book on the subject.
What kind of society's allows criminals to glorify their activities in music videos for children to look up to, then after years they punish them? Sending mixed signals don't you think? Same goes for chicks in music videos shaking they shit for dolla bills. girls and women look up to this, while guys look down on them for it, calling them hoes n what not. Shame there's no unity, creating legit successful business and making things better for the youngers
he made his bed
Play stupid games , earn stupid prizes
Your a real one bro I would of said the same thing big up
I grew in and around gangs multiple friends murdered the rest spending their lives in and out of jail.
