    Interesting mechanism translation at the front. Kind of reminds me of older telescoping mechanisms for long range camera lenses. Same kind of idea, only those operate only on the cylinder wall of the lens, so things are a bit more compact.

    Curious why client wants a variable pitch prop on an electric motor? Is it for the realistic looks of a real thing? In theory, you shouldn't need a variable propeller on an RPM scalable motor. They are only used on fuel powered engines due to the the powerplant RPM limitations and the power curve. Otherwise, excellent craftsmanship and a beautiful project!

      Thanks! One thing is the sound but with variable pitch you can brake or slow down on ground and perform very steep, slow descents in the air - just like the real plane does.

    Any Chance to make a 3 bladed 26 inch like this. But for a Twin with 2 BX-120 Kolm engines? I will only need the prop to feather in case of an engine failure

    Nice stuff. You got the capitalization of kW correct in your video, but your title I was looking at before I started the video had it reversed. Nice devices you create. I thought I was going to mention the Kw kW thing, then I saw where you already got it right. Of course, most lay persons will read it as kilowatts in either case for the most part. Not digging on you. It was just a mention.

So far I draw more in 2D or sometimes in 3D with Freecad but of course Fusion is clearly much better! Now I have to work on it and hope to be able to do what I want with 😅.

    • @christiansprojects-cgmanuf1426

      The control forces will be less than 50N. The key is balancing the blade holder and blade assembly around their rotational axis. I have already made a 4kW variable pitch propeller. It can be controlled by a 10Kg Servo no problem.

    Hallo Christian,
    habe deine handwerkskunst auf deinem UA-cam channel gesehen.
    Allllller größten Respekt!
    sag mal wie weit ist dein neues variable pitch prop Projekt?
    Hab auch eine vq pc6 mit einem 6374 und würde die gerne wie deine mit vp ausstatten. handwerklich für mich kein thema, währe es möglich nähere Infos zu deinem pc6 prop zu kriegen? Fotos von der Mechanik, Details, oder Pläne? Würde es sehr gerne bauen.
    Gruss Vitali

    • @christiansprojects-cgmanuf1426
      @christiansprojects-cgmanuf1426  3 роки тому +1

      Hi. These are carbon reinforced nylon blades from a guy called Christian Ramoser. They are originally designed to fit his hubs but they can be modified to fit hubs of your own design. Here, "Propellergrösse" means Propeller size. There are 6 different hub sizes and various blade designs and lenghts: www.ramoser.de/home_d/varioprop_d/varioprop_d.html

    Why would you want to have variability in the pitch of the prop when you can change the speed of the motor so easily?
